Title: It`s to quiet Post by: richwoman on April 21, 2010, 03:38:36 PM Don`t you think it goes a bit boring when there`s no thrill of a show to look forward to.what`s every one's highs and lows of the tour so far? mine are getting up in a morning and there still on stage, the live streams that didn`t always work but great anyway, Axl telling stories rather than rants all the great pics on and off stage(specially one i saw today of Axl in hot tub :drool:with hat on) :hihi:
lows the cancelled shows  Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: Gaymo, the Hobbit on April 21, 2010, 04:51:56 PM Guess you haven't been here from 2001-2005 or 2007-2010 :-)

Even though the tour is over we are getting more new dates, tweets, pics.... Its a great time, enjoy it while you can people Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: LunsJail on April 21, 2010, 05:24:49 PM It's far from quiet. 3 or 4 years ago people would have been shitting their shorts at the idea of getting Twitter updates directly from Axl.
Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: One.In.A.Million on April 21, 2010, 06:16:58 PM In my opinion GN'R are on fire at the moment.
At the moment they have just returned from South/Central America after a few months of touring. Let them rest for a while, it's expected that there may not be as much activity as when the shows were taking place. Also we have already had twitter updates from GN'R and Bumblefoot (buying stamps :hihi:), so by no means is it "too quiet". Just be happy that GN'R are back and rocking the world again. Plus don't forget the videos Tommy has been giving us, Ashba's videos, Bumblefoot's - GN'R's and Axl's twitter posts, Franks blog, Pitmans - Richards and Dizzy's email responses. So on top of all the touring, GN'R are more reachable than ever. :D Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: Voodoochild on April 21, 2010, 06:28:32 PM Guess you haven't been here from 2001-2005 or 2007-2010 :-) Didn't the band release some album by November 2008? :hihi:Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: Gaymo, the Hobbit on April 21, 2010, 08:00:59 PM Yea but there was no tour
Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: CheapJon on April 21, 2010, 08:03:45 PM Yea but there was no tour but there were a record to talk about and axl came on the forumsTitle: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: Buddha_Master on April 22, 2010, 01:45:02 AM I don't like that there is no talk about Guns N' Roses, outside of sites like this. Still this is a far cry from the days of old. I am not expecting that kind of coverage again, but Axl and GN'R are flying way way too far under the radar. Chinese Democracy still remains a masterpiece, and I believe it still deserves better.

Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: BumbleBuzz on April 23, 2010, 11:35:04 AM I totally agree that it felt so quiet during the last couple of dates, and even with the band playing in the UK again later this year, there just isn't the enthusiasm that was once felt...I'm sorry to say it looks like the band have lost a lot of their "mysterious appeal" they once had upon Axl restarting the GNR Project....having said that, perhaps its just not a good time for music in Europe at the moment, the recession has been kicking a lot of us hard and its a luxury fewer can enjoy. I feel for the fans who just can't afford the bands tickets...especially those younger fans who struggle to find a part time job alongside school, the way we all afforded our first tickets...now it seems impossible for anyone to get those jobs....

I don't agree with your views about the buzz not being there, I feel it's the opposite. Don't forget the last time GN'R toured the UK/Europe it was the first time they had been touring since 2002 (after the 4 warmup NY dates). So this time around, that Buzz of it being new and what does the new guitar player sound like?, how do the new songs sound? etc, all happened on the Asia leg last December. But in my opinion nothing has changed even with the album being out, and I don't think it will make a difference generally. People have that special feeling about GN'R because they know they put on an amazing show and are also unpredictable. Just like the Download Festival in 2006 (when the album wasn't out), GN'R are headling the Reading and Leeds festivals this year. So in my view the mysterious element has not changed since the album has come out. I feel it's the opposite, people are more desperate than ever to see GN'R live. Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: kukol1978 on April 23, 2010, 05:13:41 PM they need tv promo and a amazing video of an amazing song ( theres a lot in CD).I really think that! the band is great and they play awesomes gigs! so they just need a decent promo!.Its very sad that many people doesnt know that Guns and roses have a new record! during the 90s even my parents would knew it!.And i dont think the old band was better than the new band.Just different and different times
Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: richwoman on April 23, 2010, 05:31:51 PM sorry i didn`t mean for this to be a negative thread it was just meant to be a light hearted one while the bands on a break, just to say what the best bits of tour have been so far :peace:
Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: warrocks on April 24, 2010, 01:43:04 AM I just hope a new album really I think this is the right time.......... :peace:
Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: Scree on April 25, 2010, 12:52:31 AM When Axl said "All we need is just a little patience" he meant it... and by a little he actually meant a lot.
But I don't mind the down time. Getting older it gives me time to try and find something new and cool to listen to (which isn't easy to do I've found, most new commercial music is shit) and when they kick it up a notch again I can get back into the groove. Outside of the tours the most exciting time for me is between albums. I'm a downloading motherfucker you see (and before that I was a trading motherfucker.) I love listening to demos for most bands I like just to hear differences and the pathway to the finished versions (yeah, boo hiss me.. I'm not really a fan.. yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah fuck you.) GnR is and likely always will be my favourite band. I can't wait for the next album and the next time they come to Ottawa. Btw.. know of any new shit I can listen to in the mean time before the GnR news radar explodes again? Cheers Scree PS. rereading this.. none of that was directed at anyone in this thread.. just me rambling on :P Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: H76 on April 25, 2010, 04:03:48 AM GNR is on tour people ! What else could you ask for ? ??? ( Well maybe another album within next few years, but that's about it.. )
As for GNR's visibility and success.. As a fan of course I wish all the best to them and hope they will achieve the success they rightfully deserve. But I don't see a need to set my own goals to them and demand them to live up to that. I bet they have some of their own already anyways. And since I'm not paying for it, I don't think they would even had to take it into account even if I made such demands. :) I've payed for the albums and they work for me. And for conserts. The band is interacting with the fans and sharing info on Twitter which is just great. Never ever thought they would do it. Especially not Axl. So for my point of view things are far from quiet. Well of course if I wanted to I could come up with stuff that would for me personally make it ideal as a fan - GNR could tour my country at least once in six months, they could release a new album every other year, Axl could tweet every other day.. - to all of that. But as I said, setting demands isn't my thing. And I don't have a need to feel entertained by them every single day. After all, there's more to life than that. Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: jarmo on April 25, 2010, 12:48:58 PM WTF?
The band just finished a six week tour in South and Central America. They have a few weeks off before heading to Europe. Surely everybody in the band and crew deserves to rest and spend time with their families? Even though it might be tough on a few Internet users who think it's "too quiet". :P :hihi: /jarmo Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: big_machine on April 25, 2010, 01:25:09 PM youre so right Jarmo !!!!

Title: Re: It`s to quiet Post by: richwoman on April 25, 2010, 03:21:04 PM WTF? Hi i`m sorry i think i worded the subject wrong it`s turned into something unintentional i didn`t mean the band wasn`t aloud a break i meant it was quiet on the board with no shows to read and chat about and asked about everyone's highlights were so far, it was supposed to be lighthearted :peace:The band just finished a six week tour in South and Central America.
