as usual, don't believe it til uncle axl confirms...

The Live Nation press release says that the European leg of the world tour kicks off in Bergen on May 31. Seems like this will be the next GN'R show then.

Unless they decide to do some warm up shows elsewhere of course.

Here's the dates:

May 31 - Vestlandshallen, Bergen - Norway (Capacity up to 10,000, all standing tickets)

June 2 - Oslo Spektrum, Oslo - Norway (Capacity about 9,700)

additional info from me: as this news just broke out, me and the missus have started planning a M&G and will be in contact with Oslo Spektrum about renting a space to hang out prior to the gig......will post more info when we eventually get that lady in charge to answer her phone xD
so, if anyone wanna hang out....keep an eye out for an M&G announcement regarding Oslo...would be awesome to see some other downloading motherfuckers besides me :P

A month and a half? Not bad. I thought we'd wait more. Please, since GnR will play festivals, release a pro-shot recording of any show. This is the best GnR tour ever imo and I'd kill anyone to watch a pro-shot recording of any fucking show. At least a soundboard, please!

Ticket prices are pretty high in my oppinion. 83 euro's or 112 US$ is a lot of mony these days.

it's not that bad actually....the price is only about 150 NOK more than 4 years ago....
in comparison, GNR charges now 570 NOK....
last year one of my co workers went to see Elton John, he wanted close to 1500 Nok :S

I certainly hope so.  It sounds like they will be in Europe for a while, so I hope they hit all the states they can.

Without wanting to jinx anything, I'm hoping this is a sign that the band really is going to do a *massive* European tour this summer and play the fuck out of every country. The rumoured Russia show would make sense after Norway (St. Petersburg... they should pull out Sympathy for the Devil for that show!). Heck do St. Petersberg and Moscow if they can...then go back across the continent.

Amsterdam Arena can be done well if prepared properly....U2 did a great show there with great sound...but most concerts are not the best idd....and I think it's a big to big....40.000 or so ?...why not the smaller venue next to the Arena ? ...Heineken Music Hall.....sound is great over there (they say)...and a smaller venue is still big enough, maybe even better....

open air would be Goffertpark idd but another place is ok too.

Don't know if management or band is reading this but just like the other fans I also want to ask :

Please give us dates and venues...we want you !

I'm not worried about the band making it - they've got lots of time. Am definitely worried for fans traveling from overseas though - anyone making plans to travel to see these shows might need to take that into consideration.

Well Germany they could do Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Dresden, and maybe Stuttgart (they've got an arena that can hold about 15,000 people there).

Israel would be tricky (and technically isn't Europe), but if you're going that way then maybe - maybe also throw in Morocco after Spain/Portugal.

In Europe - maybe Bratislava, Slovakia if you're doing the Czech Republic as well. Kiev in Ukraine. Krakow in Poland as well as Warsaw? Do a date in Latvia (Metallica just played there) etc.

Guess we'll find out in the coming weeks!

Does anyone know how far from the stage the seats are in Oslo Spektrum? Or does anyone have any tips at all regarding what seats to go for? I won't have much time tomorrow trying to buy a ticket to the Oslo concert and I'd like to have some sort of idea beforehand what I should be aiming for. I can't find proper info on the net.

after last time i was there i'd recommend the floor actually....
regarding seats....I would definately aim for center seats....
but the floor is recommended....this time round i'll definately try to make my way up front....

in other news, regarding a possible M&G, should hopefully get answer tomorrow about the posibillity of renting a room at Spektrum to hang out in before the gig :peace:

Here's the layout for the Guns concert:

I'm not sure how big the stage will be in scale to the arena. If they are using the same setup as in Canada, sections 201, 202, 217 and 218 might bring you quite close to one of the runways, platforms, tentacles or whatever they're called.  :hihi:

On the other hand, those seats might not give you the full impression of the production.

Love the idea of GNR doing this in Europe Kyrie.....Bored now so thought would have fun with this.

possible 3 months (potential approx 40 dates but not in order)

UK- Reading, Leeds festivals (confirmed) arenas in London x 2, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle or Belfast,Glasgow,
Ireland - Dublin
France -Paris, Lyon?
Germany - 4 dates (you can help me here)
Russia -St Petersburg, Moscow
Spain - Barcelona, Madrid
Portugal - Lisbon
Italy - Rome, Milan
Poland - Warsaw
Hungary - Budapest
C.Repuplic - Prague
Romania - Bucharest
Holland - Amsterdam
Switzerland - Zurich
Austria - Vienna
Norway x2 (confirmed)
Finland x1 (confirmed)
Sweden x1 (confirmed)
Denmark x 1 (confirmed
Belguim
Greece - Athens
Turkey - Istanbul
Croatia
Serbia
Israel???

Add/delete countries/cities or add festival dates, maybe we have some acoustic/surprise shows to somewhere

In Germany it  hopefully will be Cologne. There is a big arena (Lanxess Arena) and last year METALLICA played there.Frankfurt,Munich,Berlin,Stuttgart.... they all have stadions or big arenas...and an amazing fanbase....

well, we got answer from Spektrum now about a possible M&G....
once the lady in charge got it explained properly she was alot more positive.
BUT, however...due to it being Guns N Roses and they run a pretty tight ship we might not be able to get in there...
she would check prices, specifications and possibly band requests(if they will allow outsiders prior to the gig) if it is at all possible....
just keep our fingers crossed now and hopefulyl she calls back before the end of business today.

BUT, there is another but indeed :P
the spectrum lady was specific that 1 of the regulations were to keep in the area(if we get it rented) and not go band hunting(sure that makes sense to most, just had to mention it anyways)
and there will be limited amounts of people, i can't nor will i vouch for 50+ people......most likely it will be open for 20-30 peeps...wich is ok by me, probably serving of pizza and soda(or beer)....

if all goes well, i'll post a how to thingy laters

This may mean that the poster is a mock-up, not final. It may also be that the promoter can't say officially yet. Guess we'll find out. I highly doubt it's a "fake" per se since some of the dates are confirmed and it was on the promoters website. But it may not have been ok'd for release.

Also, GN'Rs twitter pretty much hints at a European tour with the "ashes" comment.

Guns in Denmark

www.akkc.dk just put the show up.. search for them.

The date has been pushed one day also (if the rumored date was Sunday) which is great for all parties involved (crew, band and travelling fans) coming in from Sweden Rock. It's also possible to drive from Norje to Aalborg (about 7 hours). Or by train (with one change, in Copenhagen). The inter-city Danish trains are ace.

If anyone needs help or advice on travellin' in and around Denmark or the gig, let me know.

If some UK arena dates get announced I will do my extra special happy/excited dance... and I know you all want to see that! lol

Another article, this from the "sister" rag to BT called Ekstra Bladet (both newspapers are in poor taste), but funnily enough this is also positive (like BTs). These two rags delivered the most mindboggling stupified reviews of Guns in 2006 (Roskilde). A travesty to journalism and it practically had nothing to do with whether they thought the show was good or bad (and it was GOOD!).

Anyway:

I can verify that what Rainfox is telling is absolutely true. That fat, drunk "journalist" called Steffen Jungersen who wrote the Roskilde review in B.T. had either written it beforehand or not bothered to see the show at all. It was a great concert. It does not occur very often that most of the audience at the big concerts on Roskilde's Orange Stage repeatedly chant the artists name in praise...

I've missed GN'R playing in the UK about 4 times now due to having a holiday booked before the dates are announced (even missed one when they rescheduled the docklands gig that I had tickets for and then couldn't make the new date as it was during my holiday!)

I've got a trip booked from 16th June to 8 July, so expect a load of great UK arena dates to be announced for that period very soon!

De Britse band Supertramp geeft maandag 4 oktober een concert in GelreDome XS in Arnhem. Dat werd gisteren bekend. Guns n?

English

It say's that the british band Supertramp will hold an concert in geldredome XS in Arnhem on October 4th. Guns N Roses will not perform on June 16th. The poster the russians gave out to public is an old tourschedule and is NOT THE REAL DEAL it is not fake but it's an old tourschedule.  Mojo(promoters in Holland) Are in talks with Guns N Roses as they are touring europe this summer so a concert might come but nothing is certain yet.

Sorry guys!

Don't use those dates to book travel, take time off etc.

As you might have noticed, if the dates haven't been announced by the band and/or a local promoter, they're not official.

Okay, I am not going to buy my Graspop tickets untill Guns n' Roses have confirmed. This kinda sucks. Why such a late (tight) confirmation on the European Tour?

Don't know, perhaps nothing has been confirmed because the unofficial tour has now unofficially been postponed? Beats me, can see no other reason than that Graspop has had difficulties with its preferred headliner. Why else would they start selling daytickets while leaving their schedule poster empty at the middle-top?

On the other hand, the Central America dates weren't confirmed early on either. It doesn't matter much as long as they'll plan plenty concerts of their own. Festivals would be a bummer, especially if some of them sold out (like Rock am Ring, but performing there would be a logistical waste of money).

goddamnit, would seriously think that organizers and the folks at spektrum sort of talked together when they got requests and shit...
but it appears not so....the people at livenation said one thing, the folks at spektrum another.....so it appears that a M&G at spektrum is a no go :(
on the bright side of that, i guess it is cheaper for us folks to just hook up at some other location and hang out :(

sorry guys, we really tried to work shit out....but when those in charge can't even communicate straight with eachother, shit just falls apart...

In 2006 we had pre-party at Amplifier. They showed the Tokyo concerts on big screen. Nylon, is also a cool pub, but maybe a bit too smal
Maybe Elm Steet, Garage, or Rock In... So, some good alternatives there..

I'd love to know where people get these dates from in the first place.  ::)

I think it's fairly obvious that 6 shows in a row, let alone in different countrys, is not gonna happen. The only 2 that we know for sure are confirmed, are the Reading and Leeds festivals. It seems to me, someone has just added shows around these dates for some reason, god knows why.  :P

I got one more question regarding accommodation. You can PM on this one but as I will be traveling from abroad for the Oslo show, not only with my wife but also my two sons and a babysitter, I am in need of a room/apartment for two nights on a very good price. Bear in mind that my currency is barely a currency anymore and the NKR very much not in favor for me at moment : ok:
Well, any suggestion or tips are well received. Thanks guys, I appreciate.

So far:
May 31st,  Bergen, Norway @ Vestlandshallen
June 2nd,  Oslo, Norway @ Oslo Spektrum
June 5th,  Helsinki, Finland @ K?pyl?n Urheilupuisto (Helsinki Live 2010)
June 6th,  Saint Petersburg, Russia @ Ledovy Dvorets
June 8th,  Moscow, Russia @ Olympiyskiy Stadium
June 12th,  Norje, Sweden @ Norje Havsbad Sweden Rock Festival
June 14th,  Aalborg, Denmark @ Gigantium
August 27th, Reading, UK @ Little John's Farm (Reading Festival)
August 29th, Leeds, UK @ Bramham Park (Leeds Festival)

So I guess we can expect many more dates. But we are only a month away from the last date in June and I say GNR have to speed up the announcements so the fans make some travel plans. But again its typically GNR to plan like this...

I am so sorry I wasn't more specific /jarmo.

I meant these dates:

June 15 - Berlin, Germany
June 16 - Arhenm Dome, Holland
June 18 - Vienna, Austria
June 20 - Zagreb, Croatia
June 21 - Belgrade, Serbia
June 23 - Prague, Czech Republic
June 28 - Zurich, Switzerland
June 29 - Milan, Italy

Are they playing these dates?

Many of those aren't even in Eastern Europe, but to answer your question, unless the band and/or management says so, those shows aren't confirmed.

In addition to that, none of those shows have been announced by local promoters.

In fact, as far as I remember, some of the local promoters have denied there being shows on some of the specified dates. I think it was the Dutch promoter who said they didn't have a GN'R show on that date.

Edit: Found it (http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?topic=59625.msg1250442#msg1250442).

GN'R have never mentioned these dates.

They surfaced from a poster on the Russian promoters website, but I believe Live Nation said these were part of an old tour schedule.

If/when GN'R announces more dates, it could very well be completely different dates/venues/cities than the ones listed above.

There's no reason for anybody to be concerned about GN'R not announcing shows yet, there's still plenty of time. Don't forget this time in 2006, GN'R had not even played a show yet (May 12th).

Think about how many places GN'R toured in 2006, like Europe, UK, North America. We are only in May, there are still 7 and a half months left in the year, loads of stuff could happen.

Why do GNR take so long to do everything?? Album takes years, still no Video from the Album. Even announcing a tour takes forever?? ??? I know there are deals to be made for concerts to take place, but come on.

It's probably not GN'R fault but this whole shit is really fucked up. I was expecting to visit two of the shows but I really do not know if I am going to be able anymore. The time passes by and I won't be able to organize my things for a week or two if the dates are confirmed. I will do my best but I just need confirmation. I just can't do it for a day or two. Still hope though. :)

Title: Re: european tour?

Looking at how a majority of shows have been announced, the first announcement usually came from a local promoter. This was the case for the Asian, Canadian and Latin American shows.

Since we haven't heard any promoters announce new shows, since the already announced ones, you can probably relax until this changes.

The last show of the first leg is in four weeks. It might be too tight to add dates straight after Denmark.

Oh really? Please provide a link to an official ticket web site that sells tickets to that show. And please, don't link to any scalpers who sell tickets to imaginary shows.

The date isn't listed on the official GelreDome web site. It's not on sale on the Dutch Ticketmaster web site.

There is still plenty of time for GN'R to announce more shows in Europe/UK. Also we know that GN'R are going to still be in Europe until at least early September, with the Reading/ Leeds festivals. So thats already 1 month more than in 2006, when the band headed back to the US in early August, after the Wembley shows.

So just relax, I'm sure things will start taking shape soon. But please don't buy any tickets for shows that have not been confirmed by GN'R.

A little sales update on the Oslo show.

Only single seats are now available in the most expensive seating sections - 107, 108, 109, 110, 208, 209, 210 and 211.

As for the Bergen show, the promoter said in a news article that the GN'R show was expected to sell out. It was originally a piece on a Stevie Wonder show which didn't sell very well.

Hooked up with some burnt out Metallica fans, drank cheap Vodka in the back of their car, saw a kickass show, then drove back in the middle of the night to Lone Pine for the wedding I was attending.  : ok: It was worth it although I almost ran off the road 3-4 times due to exhaustion at 4am. ;D

Any truth to this?

Guns N' Roses concert in Belgrade rescheduled for September

American hard rock band Guns N' Roses postponed their concerts in Belgrade and Zagreb (previously scheduled for June) until September.

As the agency Beta was told today at the Belgrade Arena, the new date of the concert in the Serbian capital hasn't been specified yet, but it is likely to be 22, 23 or 24 September, depending on the band management's decisions.

Guns N' Roses concert at the Belgrade Arena was scheduled for June 22, but in the meantime rumors could be heard that the entire European tour will be postponed until September.

The Arena was also told that the concert in Zagreb will precede the one in Belgrade, as was originally planned.

Regarding the whole tour being postponed, I think that's people's own imagination at work and their wish to feel like they know something...

Didn't Axl say in one of those clips that the next tour would be in "three weeks" when he was in New York a while ago?

As of now, it looks (to me personally) like the first part of the tour focuses on Scandinavia and Russia.

The whole tour, as it's scheduled right now, seems just wierd to me. 13 days(!) before kick off and there's a gap of two and half months from the Aalborg-gig until Reading. If Aalborg is indeed the last show of the first leg, that seems just a tad weak for a band of GNR's status.

No major cities? Berlin, Paris, London, Manchester, Dublin, Prague, Amsterdam, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon etc etc etc ?!  Just seems totally wierd....

Hope they have something up their sleeve. Even if they are working on doing something in more major cities, they're cutting it kinda close if you ask me.... People have prolly planned their summer activities by now.

Adding dates this close to the start of the tour does not sound like a good gameplan. It doesn't matter if you choose to call the Scandinavian and Russian gigs "the first leg of the tour" or not, it's still a bit wierd to me...

Hope everything turns out great though and they really do have a greater plan that still hasn't been rolled out...

During the last European tour all the dates were annouced gradually.  They were already on tour and adding dates or shall I say confirming dates along the way.  Some of the festivals and uk dates were annouced later on.

I can't make travel plans for other[/b]s.

IF there's any truth in the reports that there's shows planned in Serbia and Croatia in September, then it looks like there might be more shows in the second half of the summer.

No why should you...

But again I think its pretty late to announce a show a only a month before. Maybe its just me.

Just speculating on the tour postponing rumours...

The Helsinki show simply can not be postponed or cancelled "just like that". I'd like to believe the promoter here has made sure of it in the contract or otherwise he will be facing a huge monetary loss. This is not a normal solo gig that can be moved around, and neither is this a big festival thingy where one of the main acts drops out and is replaced by something else, and with the 20+ other acts in the bill it's okay.

This whole Helsinki Live 2010 is built around Guns N' Roses - 90 % of the ticket buyers will want a refund if GNR is not there. There are no other acts (the dankos and the monroes are just filler), and they sure as hell won't find another big name as replacement at this point. The new venue and everything that has been put into this... if GNR is not on stage in Helsinki two weeks from now, there's one less organizer bringing these acts in this country in the future.

I thought that it was a case as being reported as the only festival shows this year, as in THUS FAR, not exclusively showing at these two events.

"Although Guns N' Roses played a headline set at the Leeds leg of the festival in 2002, this year marks the first time that they will have played the festival's Reading site. The band is set to headline the Reading leg on Aug. 27 and Leeds on Aug. 29. According to organizers, Festival Republic, the two shows will be the band's only U.K. appearances in 2010."

dont get me wrong though, i would love GnR to headline glastonbury. the exclusive rights thing could be changed with some hard negotiations and hard cash but there are still tickets available for leeds/reading so i doubt it very much

I'm full of questions, again, try to bear with me!

I'd like to meet up with you guys at Elm Street, but I'm wondering how long are you gonna stay there? I'll only arrive mid-afternoon in Oslo and I'm gonna meet a friend before heading for Elm Street. The doors open at 18:30, but I would not like to enter the venue that early I think.

I wonder if Oslo Spektrum has a similar, loooong (cameras, food, drink) no-no list as the venue in Bergen which in my opinion prohibited anything but the bare necessity of clothes on your back  ::) I remember seeing earlier that Spektrum denied cameras, but I wonder if this is the rule on Wednesday's concert - I've seen so many pictures from the earlier legs that I would feel it's really unfair if I could not take a few snapshots with my little camera! They can at least have nothing against a mobile phone with a really crappy camera? And I feel it would be practical to be able to take some sort of snack in case it's gonna be a long night.

I don't know the venue's camera policy.

I remember in 2006, they took my camera away and let a friend in with a better camera. Makes no sense.

I'll also arrive in Oslo in the afternoon and will head to Elm Street at some point. I'll probably stick around for a while.

In the firsth concert in 2006 there where no limited places in front, but the second concert a week later I think there where limited places in front. (d?rlig i engelsk. det eg meina er at dei delte inn i nokre seksjoner i den andre konserten, men ikkje i den f?rste.

Yes, usually the gelredome takes 34.000.

But they will do it in the xs version. (Like the Kiss show this year)

Capacy in this case is approx 12.000.

I just realized that after the show in Denmark, the band is off for about 2 and 1/2 months!! While the next show is in August in the UK, whats the plan? Im not sure if I missed something or what, kinda odd to see two months of no activity between European dates. I dont know, i dont want to speculate too much but I'd say that since they are touring for a bit, they want to take a break in the studio, or to get some other stuff out of the way or to have a 2 month vacation! I thought maybe I missed something that explains the break between dates.

Well since the Reading and Leeds festival appearances were announced a while back, the majority of the new dates that have cropped up have been after them shows.

I think this time around, since GN'R are doing more dates in certain countries than in 2006, and also with the Russian shows. I feel that's why they have planned a break in between the Europe tour, to give them some downtime to rest.

I think it's expected since so far they are doing more shows this time around per country, than in 2006. For example France, Italy, and Ireland only had 1 show last time around. While also GN'R only did 1 UK festival appearance last time around, whilst this time they are doing 2.

So I think it's extremely wise to get a lengthy break, since all of the interviews with Richard and Ron so far have indicated this could be a really long tour. :)

Euro tour building up well. We have 20 odd dates for the second leg...they can do more Germany or uk dates before or after...just wondering if they will take another break middle of October and return end of November or December to Europe as they could easily add 10-15 more dates. Also we have a rumoured oz tour in December.

Kidnap rocked the pre - party at the hard rock in 2006.

I might also go to this gig as well, as I love Lisbon and went to Rock in Lisbon in 06.

Building up nicely. could plan Budapest (Hungary) and Warsaw (Poland) either side of the Zagreb and Belgrade dates. At the start or end of tour we could add Greece and Turkey. I am sure somewhere we will have dates in Germany and hopefully more UK dates. Love them to do Israel to. If you consider how GNR toured Canada, I hope they tour like this in Germany and the UK. It total we could have between 40-45 European dates.

Really looking forward to hearing Axl and GNR this year, I've been a fan for over 20 years and I can't wait to hear Axl's voice again. On the same note I'm also delighted that Slash is touring and playing Guns N' Roses songs aswell. I get to hear Rocket Queen played live twice this year. Both bands sound awesome as does Duff McKagan's Loaded. I don't care what the guys' personal issues are with each other, the music is what's important to me. There was a point when I thought I'd never hear this music played live again. To me Guns N' Roses is now an extended family of musicians all playing the music I love. To all the guys touring this year, congratulations on still sounding amazing and thank you!

Just a little reminder: If you're going to a show, it might be useful to have yourself listed in the show thread(s) in the tour section.

If people want to meet up at the shows, it's easier to tell who's going where and how many would be interested in a possible pre-show....

That seems the exact same thing thats happening in Australia (well Sydney anyway). GnR are doing 1 concert in a country or perhaps each state, but to substitute for the 1 show, there doing BIG arenas or stadiums (ala v8 500).

Which is good to see, more bums on seats without the risk of cancelled concerts or half sold out concerts, makes perfect sense.

There is an article about a probable Bulgarian show after the Zagreb one. It is not confirmed yet. It appeared today in a local musical website. No matter that there are not many bulgarians over here I was just proud to announce the news. I think that there is not much sense in posting the link but if you do insist I will copy it. Fingers crossed! Hope, hope, hope.  :peace:

The Murderdolls? That was unexpected, not bad of a band though. And by unexpected I mean if there was a joint GnR/Marilyn Manson tour I would think it strange. Similar bands....
