Dizzy - Well .. (brief pause). We've been doing this for a long time. In case of a show, sometimes there may be strange situations and problems, but we have a fantastic team that helps keep things running. People will realize that our level of production is high. I just try to do my part. If I do, and I think I'm doing the best I can, that's easy. Just be professional. A guy like Axl tries to surround the best, and if you do your best, it works. He just hopes that things are rolling, and is what we do (laughs). The hard part is to ensure that everything will be cool. Has a lot of hard work involved, but the mood is cool, we laugh a lot. And when we're on stage, it passes over any bullshit. It's nice when it works.

ZH - How were the times when guys like Duff McKagan and Slash left the band? There was that feeling of "Now what do we do?"

Dizzy - I play in bands since kid. Whenever someone leaves, the first feeling is this. Especially if a band is cohesive, if people are friends. But you have to overcome that. "They do not want to be here, so that if f *! We'll follow. "Of course not easy to replace people. We were lucky: we now have the Tommy Stinson (bass) and it breaks everything rings true. And the three guitarists that we are now among the best who ever played. We have a killer band, and we resolve and who does what and when. This venue is really small, up to 5000 seats.

There are already 20k tickets sold (it was 16k and it was sold out within a week, so they moved the place to this parking lot.) and there's still tickets available to General Admission floors.

The venue where the theater is has a really nice structure, with a little mall, coffee shops and restaurants, hence why it's big and with a low capacity.

Should be interesting to see how restless the crowd gets during the break. Personally, i would be digging it that the show is sooo fucking late. I mean really, when's the last time you went to a concert and they played til this fucking late?! I mean, yeah it is pretty late, but... this is Guns n Fuckin Roses! Bumblefoot via Facebook:  Fun gig tonight in Porto Alegre!! That was the most slippery stage I ever stood on, feet would slip n' slide apart every time I went on the wings, aaahh! Knees are pretty twisted up, hoping they'll heal for the next show or it's gonna go from bad to worse, I'll be hoppin' around in leg casts by the end of the tour, aaaaahhh!!!



Tommy smashed his bass to *pieces* in the last song - I couldn't find him after that. If you happen to see him, please put a stamp on him and mail him to Uruguay, c/o Bumblefoot. Haha, I've seen Tommy do that now 2 times, once in Lisbon and then the Download Festival. Tommy strikes me as a straight up Rock & Roll guy, who just wants to put on a good show and have a laugh. And when things go wrong like sound problems or other stuff, you can guarantee his Bass is in danger.  :hihi:

I must share with you: just had one of the best days of my life, my second GNR show.

After the events in Rio and considering I'll travel next saturday and won't be in town until next april 10th, I decided that attending the Porto Alegre show was not an option, but a matter of honnor! I was waiting for 9 years!

So even with my current limited money status, I bought a premium floor ticket, used round trip tickets I accidentally won on a contest last January and just flew there a couple hours before the show. Met other crazy people that did the same thing and was also introduced to many incredible local fans. People there are very nice and also know how to rock on!

I stood awake for more then 25 hours, slept for only 3 after that, took a plane, saw the show and came back. I had a blast!! Was absolutely worth it! Got only 5 meters from the stage, Axl's voice was perfect and he was on a excellent mood (except for the final minute - I think he had misundarstandings with the security)! The band is tighter than ever! Ashba is a monster on the stage! Crowd was awesome! I jumped a lot, sang my lungs off... just want to share I had the time of my life! GNR is unbelievable!

This girl went backstage and spent hours with Axl and the band, but she forgot her cell phone there. The band then called her brother and asked to tell her to meet the band again in Porto Alegre's airport to get the mobile back. :)

You didn't post the coolest part of that story.  :P

It was the girl's birthday so she made a sign that said "Axl, today is my birthday. Please take a photo with me. I Love U". So at the end of the show Axl said "there was a birthday girl over here, where is she?". They brought her on stage, sang happy birthday and then got to go backstage after the show. She even had breakfast with them.

Pretty cool story.  :peace:

Apparently her camera's batteries were dead when she was going to take a pic with Axl, so the band took a pic with their equipment and will email it to her...

She is very pretty. I am so happy for her!
