Have been going the past 4 years & it's great but I fancied a change this year so I'm going to Sonisphere.
AC/DC will be cool at Donny but not too bothered as I saw them last year anyhow.

Pretty good first announcement. Saw AC/DC and TCV last year but would love to see both again, and obviously STP. Wasn't considering this at all but tempted.

I assume they'll do the live stream of some of the bands like they did last year? Though AC/DC are probably the only band I'd go out of my way to try and see from the line-up so far. Motorhead and STP maybe.

I remember watching Limp Bizkit and Faith No More (and a small part of Slipknot's set) last year and they were great. :smoking:

Guessing GN'R will be big contenders for Reading/Leeds then. Bit of a pain in the arse as I'm away on a motorbike rally that weekend.

hard rock calling still an option over Reading/Leeds...

I'm hoping Hard Rock Calling...suspect Reading is already sold out

IMO would be a great move for GNR to show the wider audience what they're all about...

We need Hammy to send us updates!

There's a few bands (namely Aerosmith, STP, Motorhead and Slash) I would've liked to have watched on day 3.

Keep in mind, that was the 2007 USA Download Festival lineup -- since then there hasn't been one.

Don't know if anyone else will care about this but I thought it was worth a shot.

Remember back in 2006 there was a video of all the people leaving during GNR's set at Download? Apparently it was proof that most people hated them. Well this year I left early during AC/DC and saw exactly the same thing happening on the way out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE-nWTi6hYI

I suspect the same happens during every headliner, and at a guess the majority of these people are from the other stages, which all finished earlier. The rest (both years) were probably people like me with AC/DC - curious but not big enough fans to stay for the full set.

(Mods sorry if this is in the wrong place, was recommended I put it here rather than in a thread of it's own.)

Amusing.

I've seen people leave at pretty much every concert/festival.

You think everybody at a concert is a hardcore fan that paid for his/her own ticket?

Obviously some people don't care if they miss the last song(s) as long as they can beat the traffic, make it onto the bus/train or whatever.

People have different priorities and it has very little to do with "hating the band"...

people always leave, i did the exact same thing (first time though) when i saw rammstein this weekend just before they started their encore

i did it because i had seem 'em 2 weeks before and was going to meet a very hot chick, not because the show was bad because it was awesome.. as was the girl ;D

u don't really expect us to believe that right?     J/k :P

Festivals are awesome in theory, on paper.. but to be honest, no matter how awesome a lineup, i just don't know if i could stand for 10 hours watching all that. I'd get pretty burnt out and tired.
