Apparently, G n' R were preliminary booked for a concert at Norrporten Arena in Sundsvall, Sweden for the 9th of June but the promoter backed out of it due to Gn'R:s "high rate of cancelled gigs".

Another interesting piece of information for the Swedes is that GnR, according to the guy in the article named G?ran Melin, "had been looking to play a concert north of Stockholm." (roughly translated) Thus, it seems as 1. they might play Sweden this summer. 2. they might play more than one date in Sweden (few bands only stop for a concert in the north...).

I do not have time to translate the whole piece but the Swedes in here can perhaps verify that the source is correct.

Anyway, long time since I've posted something (and first time under this nick apparently). Felt like about time. :)

"High rate" means 2 or 3 shows out of 30+ since 2006. Yeah, thats reasonable. ::)

I think we've learned recently that we can't really trust what promoters say.  However, most of the rumors lately have had an inkling of truth to them so Europe in the summer looks a little more likely.  US in the fall???

Europe in the summer sounds good to me...

Oh, and everytime I try to comment in a positive way about GNR and try to speak the truth when commenting shitty articles in the Swedish press, they always delete my posts and let the negative and pro- Slash ones stay up. I fuckin hate it!!!

Just cause one booking agency says no, doesn't mean they won't play in Sweden at all.

I hope they come play the Peace & love-festival then. Great festival, a little bit north of Stockholm. In fact the largest festival in Sweden last year. Always o good vibe there and good band in recent years. M?tley, Iggy, Pistols, Hanoi, Alice....etc. :beer:

Otherwise I'll go see them in Copenhagen or Oslo. Hopefully they'll come to Roskilde again, that'd be awesome!

I remember something like this happened in Norway back in 2006. Quartfestival were in talks with GnR, but Quart meant Gnr was too expensive, so the deal went down. That happened to be a good thing, because GnR played 2 great shows in Oslo Spectrum instead! Better then a festival show..

i know for a fact that the some booking agents in norway are really hyped on GNR so.. =) Im sure they will be here! And the shows in Norway 2006 was among the longest shows they did.

get real dude. 3 out of 4 gnr shows I was planning to go to in the past decade got cancelled. (and they were on different tours- I dont know why I still call my self "Lucky" :D)

Doubt it to be honest, but possibly similarly to '06, two nights in London (maybe the popular O2 arena this time), then arena shows in the major cities are possible. Don't care where they play, ill be there!

Don't think Emirates has ever hosted a music concert - any concerts in stadiums for London would go to Wembley usually, though Iron Maiden played Twickenham last year (England Rugby Stadium). GnR would be better off going to O2 Arena - excellent acoustics apparently, they sold out two nights at Wembley Arena (not stadium) in 2006 and played a few other arenas around the UK - so long as they don;t come to the UK between 8th and 16th June ...  I am in China then..

I bet some of them were from that 2001 tour that was never supposed to happen in 1st place. And past DECADE isn't really something you could use as time frame when they in fact did A LOT of shows since 2006.

Emirates Stadium has not hosted a concert for any band.

TBH the only football ground that does host shows are Wembley Stadium.  Twickenham has been used in recent years for Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden.

I think the shout for O2 seems to be the best one.

I thought Bruce Springsteen played there a year or so ago.

I really hope some of the Finnish promoters are in contact with Guns, I think it's more likely Guns comes to Finland than to Sweden.

I guess this rule out that GNR will play in Europe this summer... :-\

All the members have their projects n stuff but not when GNR are touring. Or am i wrong!?

Correct, but the rumors about Sweden and Norway says late May or early June...

Yes, but first, those are just rumors.  Second, the tour could run through May and/or part of June.  Also, there could be a break in the tour.  Who knows?  There are too many possibilities and not enough confirmed information to draw any conclusions at this point.
