Sorry to start this thread so early but I have a question.

Is Osaka one of the places that the band has to go on and off stage by a certain time like they did in Taipei and Seoul?


I have an important family matter to take care of that day at the scheduled onstage time, so if possible, could someone there be kind enough to sabotage a piece of equipment or something for about say four hours ... I'd appreciate it.

Loving that they're debuting different new songs at every show so far.  Obviously that'll stop eventually (once they play them all).  But the rotation will most likely continue.

It would be nice to hear it live again.  I'm sure we'll get it eventually.  It's a tough song to pull off vocally I'd imagine.  But a lot of the songs from CD are and they haven't shyed away from those.  So, that shouldn't be a factor.

Catcher would be great too. Still would love to see these guys play the shit out of Coma as an encore

Yeah, I never thought 3 shows in we'd have heard nearly all of CD and no Nightrain or Patience.  I mean I figured we'd get all of CD gradually throughout the tour, but I wouldn't have predicted all the songs this early on.

Right now Catcher is the only song on CD never performed live!

This is the "Chinese Democracy" tour, this is a great band of guys who made that music come together and happen and it is their work we hear when we listen to the album (with the exception of Ashba but nevermind about that).. GNR has some great songs in the past but now is the time to really throw the new songs into people's faces, test to see how well they know the album, or if not, they will be pleasantly surprised what they missed out on and make up for it.

Okay, ladies and gentlemen - we all went completely nuts over in the Osaka thread. From what we're hearing it was indeed GN'R's "own brand of KamiKaze" unleashed.

A year ago there were no plans for a live DVD/Bluray, so I'd like to use this thread to make it crystal clear to the GNR camp: Pleasepleaseprettyplease release a DVD of that concert - or of a similar concert in the near future. Don't think we wouldn't buy it. Dont think it's not important for us. Don't think the live performances are enough for us. :rofl-lol:

We're damn greedy bastards, we want a live DVD and we will buy it. So please - DO IT! :thumbsup:

Oh yeah, you could put it all online in HD for free instead, we wouldn't mind.

I think it is great that these shows have been turning out so great.

One could assume that all things in GNR world are going right. It would appear most of the monkeys are off axls back. The whole group is firing on all cylinders and having fun.  As a fan from the 80's I have to say it feels to me the band has finally gone full circle and can only move up from here. The years of trouble seem to be behind them.  

 :peace: Heres hoping the band getting the well deserved reviews and the world seeing what GNR is now not what they think it is.  GNR is one of the last real bad ass  rock bands left in the world.

I hope they put a dvd out of the shows.  GNR is ready for the world, time to show the world axl is going to kick there ass.  The funny thing is, its like the axl of old again.  Interaction with the crowd, mixing the set up. Not taking any shit. Having a good time.

Yep, many older bands don't have the balls to play all songs from their newest release nowadays. I love this tour  :love: its also great to see how the whole band enjoys to play with each other and Axl seems to be happy.

Well, we don't know how the japanese crowd was in the concert. If the band is really with this energy, they could keep it and play another concert like this in a place they would be sure that the crowd would be awesome, so they could launch a ULTIMATE EXTREME SUPER DVD. A place like, I don't know... Brazil maybe. :rolleyes:

What a show that was! I stood at the back to get a full view of the stage show.

I don't know if people have pointed it out but there's a lot going on. The lighting rig is dynamic instead of static. It moves during the show.

There are video walls that are transparent.... Etc.

Just unbelievable!!!! Thanks to everyone here for the updates, I wish I could have been there. This looked like it was truly a unique show to attend, and probably the longest since the UYI tour dates. Whatever obstacles he's faced in the last 10 years, it FINALLY looks as though that he's been allowed and able to move forward to tour GNR the way it was meant to be toured. Haven't been this excited since the first time they decided to tour in '02.

man, that just made me laugh out loud... I have to find that and listen to it right now!  

I feel like all the tours from 2000 to the last one were 'practice' for this tour... can't wait until they come back to the states

The intro to Scraped I can understand having the pre-recorded vocals (Why it's included though live I don't know), but using the pre-recorded stuff that can easily be handled by other band members is a little EH to me.

But then again, they're the rockstars and I'm a fat, pathetic loser behind a computer screen, so they probably know better.

before the show start, being people(osaka dome staff) were walking around the dome with big sign that says 'no camera /filming　please' they are nice and polite. when I asked if I could just take photo of them and said I'd never want to do anything that disturbs the band in the first place, they winked. And as far as I know no Japanese fans were taking photos during the show. All Osaka people I met this time were really nice and kind.

at some point axl put on an egoist shirt- egoist is one of the hottest clothing brands here but I thought they didn't have mens...maybe I'm wrong and it was a different egoist.

because I was rather close to the stage this time, yea hate me all you want,  I wasn't watching the screen much and they looked far better in person than on it  I tell you.
the video foir this I love was impressive.

the dome was chilly and I went to the loo many times before the show but when the show started it was damn hot. the Pyro was hot too.
I lost almost 3 kilos just by dancing at my seat.  :o imagine how many calories the band members burn each night.

hahaha it was freezing there outside the dome . it had been rather warm for winter till the day  :hihi: the cold wave hit Japan.

Unfortunately the same thing happened to me at the 5/14/06 NYC show... They were selling Bud Lights with a shot of Southern Comfort at a bar behind the Balcony Seats. Luckily I remember the show and wasn't filming then posting it... Of course in my case it never would have seen the light of day because I am capable of shame... This guy obviously drunk or not thought his backing vocals were worthy of sharing with the world.

The type of show we all dream of being at, though reality says this won't be possible in the main where time curfews come into force. And secondly, if Axl was to do this every time, his voice wouldn't last a full tour. It was interesting to see a bunch of men in suits attend and go crazy for GN'R.


The show was on a weekday, so they went straight to the show from work in their work clothes.

I just read a review of a rock magazine with perhaps the largest circulation in Japan.
It's from the viewpoint of an old band fan who knows little of the current band members but it's a fun read nonetheless.
