Title: Axl Rose Denies Press Statement Regarding Rumored LAX Incident
Post by: Classic Case on December 14, 2009, 02:49:09 AM
Axl Rose denies releasing press statement regarding rumored LAX incident.  "I did not release any statement or authorize either any statement or anyone to release a statement regarding anything at any airport anywhere.

We had recently began working with newer individuals in management in relation to our current Asian tour in support of our Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" in addition to Irving Azoff's though as it happens we are once again touring Asia without management of any kind.

Imo this non sense may be some type of manufactured or publicity stunt.

We're looking forward to performing in Osaka and Tokyo Japan doubling our pyro show and with our "new" full stage as local requirement have limited us on its use in our last performances.

Thanks to everyone who's come out to see us.  It's been really fun so far and the addition of our new guitarist Dj Ashba joining us along w/ guitarists Ron Bumblefoot Thal and Richard Fortus, gives the night a kick in the pants.

Hope to see the rest of you soon!!

And to any publications running this; please feel free to tack on whatever negative agenda supporting nonsense you generally do (You know who you are!!).  After all it's only someone else's livelihood you media police state, no fun, spoil sport, communist bastards.

Peace!!"

The band's currently in Seoul, South Korea where the promote was "sorry" to inform them they would not be able to use a helicopter from the airport to the venue as North Korea would "wonder" what it is!!

but I don't have knollage about that so I'm not going to help start spread rumours.

Yep. Could he be talking about certain magazines that gave CD a 4-star rating but now claim the album sucks??

As I understand it, Guns N' Roses were supposed to have a management team specifically for the tour (in addition to Irving Azoff which probably takes care of business back in the States). It's this specific group of people that fucked things up, not Azoff.

Just my understanding of this, I could be wrong of course.

His problems with management have been going on since at least 2002 now (he said he was talked into touring)-I don't understand how this continues to be a problem for him-with the band's official page a couple years ago, he said manageent screwed up the online store I think, album promotion-I don't understand how this has not been corrected-and now postings on  Guns n Roses Facebook are not approved by him?

A press release denying a press release ;)

Honestly Axl should just write his own releases (as in this case) all the time. I know he's busy but he can be pretty damn amusing compared to the usual boring fluff.

So true.  Perhaps this was discussed in another thread and I missed it? but those a-holes at RS can suck it!

Which press statement is he denying having released?

All I've seen is the post on HTGTH and the GNR myspace about 'belligerent paparazzi'.

That one.

Bizarre. So someone's releasing unauthorized news through GNR's myspace?

Will anyone really be surprised if we get a statement denying the release of this statement and confirming the original one?  ;)

At least this one shows Axl's retained his sense of humor about the whole thing.

I still fail to see where is press release on HTGTH news, MySpace or Facebook ..

The thing that you guys are talking about has nothing to do with press release.

It is called news or better to say social media release.

Well, I did think that first statement was strangely phrased and totally non-GnR style but I believed it since their MySpace and Facebook are official sources. When the video surfaced, it made seem the band had lied or tried to give a distorted version of things in their statement. But now it all makes sense. Thanks Axl for the clarification on that!

And the other bits are really intelligent and funny, but unfortunately most people don't get it. I wish more of the world could see the genius that Axl is. Damn.

Axl's press releases used to be so well written, but this doesn't seem to have been even checked before publishing!

It rambles incoherently at times, and the grammar can be nonsensical, but at the same time you can tell it's Axl - both intelligent and childish all in one! Weird.

I just remember the really well written and powerful releases around 2001/2 about being 'misty eyed' etc. It's a shame these don't get checked before publishing as people might take them more seriously then...

Ah well.
