I woke up around 6am today now 13hrs left for the show.
I booked a train to Seoul. See you guys at the stadium.

13 hours (ish) to go.then it's 20:00 over there.

Taipei is 1hour earlier than Seoul.
Doors open 6pm and opening starts 7pm. GN'R will show up around 8-9pm I guess.

Damn, I envy you guys who are going. Especially those who are out of state and making their way. Its gonna be amazing!

I'll be at Metallica tonight, but the second I get home, I am checking for updates.

Setlist for Taipei was incredible. will be interesting if they are doing any sort of rotating certain ones in and out.

hopefully more and maybe a bit better boots will surface for some songs we haven't got to see a lot of.

Shackler's for sure. no idea why they didn't release that as a single.

You know I love to watch the band hit the road but for some reason this time I am watching all the threads and info so much closer. Loving all of it. There is some really great Karma floating around out there.

well, this is the first tour where the album is out u know? Plus there are tons of CD songs in the set which kicks ass.

This is def the true start of everything IMO and that means no more silent years.

Normally I wouldn't wake up early on a Sunday, but I'm going to the New England Patriots game tomorrow and have to be up at 6am to get a move on.  I'll be reading concert updates on the ride up there (I'm getting a ride) and on into tailgating time if need be.  Can't wait.  Great food, brews, and GNR concert updates, followed by watching some NFL football.  Now if only the Patriots can get their act together again, it'll be a fantastic day!

at the start of the tour it is to be expected that some shows are shorter than others as axl said in the 2006 tour he lost his voice after the first show. like its been said in previous posts above though some shows are going to be longer than others.

no kidding, as im unable to wake up at 6 in the morning to do this, i need to stay up all night, so my sleeping schedual is all out of whack, sleeping from like noon to 7pm, its weird.

was PC the encore? or did they just play a main set?

Shit you know I am just catching up here... they didn't play IF The World. Goddamn. Sweet show but I love ITW, and was hoping it would be played at every show. Cool that TWAT was though. I want all of CDD performed, especially my favorites. This new GNR is just so scary good I feeling greeady and want all the songs I consider gems to be performed by these motherfucking baddasses.

I just got home from this show. I will be do a fuller review on my blog tomorrow, but here are a few highlights...

• If anybody saw the white guy who translated outside the express (first 1000 people from each side) queue, that was me :D
• The opening act got stiffed with a 15 minute set. I was pleased.
• There were some problems with the stage, and they had to screw a few things down just before the show started
• The stage looks fucking sweet though!
• Ashba fucking rocks! Awesome player, and he works the crowd like a superstar. He was obviously being showcased, and he was the first image anybody saw (Pics getting emailed to me tomorrow. Iconic), and the crowd all knew his name. Nobody wanted the other guy with the hat ;)
• Ron's new double-neck is, quite possibly, the sexiest guitar ever made.
• There were sound problems. Opening chops of CD were muted, and Axl's mic was all over the place, as were guitars from time to time.
• Axl apologised for his vocals on Sorry. Musically, it was great, but he seemed to have problems deciding where to sing (the key goes up and down like a whores drawers). People I was with didn't notice anything wrong, but I did. Kudos for trying though. I am sure the problems will be ironed out
• No "This I love". Bummer! I wanted to call the wife and let her hear it, as she was pretty gutted she couldn't come with me. She is desperate to hear that song played live. Hopefully they will come back next year ;)
• Axl and Tommy were deciding the set as they go. At first it was "What should we play", but later they were pointing at the setlist on the ground and asking "This one or this one?"
• No Encore. Paradise City finished seconds before 11:30, so I am guessing they were on a curfew (else they would have worked the encore). The crowd were begging for more. Literally! Cries of "Please Guns N' Roses play some more" were all around me. Despite the lack of encore, there was a lengthy set. The people I went with were surprised at how long a GN'R show lasts!
• I got T-Shirts. I will take pics tomorrow and upload them somewhere.

I will post my full story tomorrow. I had quite the adventure :)

Ah that seems to make sense.

Until the abrupt end it was sounding like an even better set than the 1st gig - If the curfew thing is correct, i imagine the end of the set would have had a couple more rockers before knockin' (eg irs or maybe even scraped) and then the encore wouldve been TIL, better and PC as before...

Thanks for the review...I like the part about Axl and Tommy deciding the setlist as they go...I think on the 2 previous tours they had alot more of a limited setlist and pretty much the same...So it appears they may be changing it up which is awesome...and very glas that YCBM and Rocket Queen are still in...Rock on guys :beer:

Axl sang the ''i dont believe there's a reason, i dont believe it'' even BETTER than in the album. Trust me, his raspy voice adapts perfectly to the song. And his voice is also incredible at the ''no one is stoping you from a-doing what u want to do''. This version of Shackler's is just mind fucking blowing. Unbelievable.

Oh, and Bumblefoot solo is EXACTLY the same as in the album. Bumblefoot is just on fire.

They absolutely FUCKING killed on 'Sorry' and 'TWAT'. Amazing. DJ did Bucket's bluesy solo on 'Sorry' tons of justice, and Ron just hit the 'TWAT' solo out of the park. It was almost 95% note for note.

I've just back from the show. It was the best day in my life.
I got autographs from GNR' members at the backdoor of the stadium.
And also I met Axl and shook hand with him.
He looked at me helding my hand. My 16 years of waiting was rewarded by that only 3 seconds.

enjoying all the footage, i cant wait to see the full stage set up Axl was talking about. Also i want to mention what a good job Frank is doing on the drums . Having been a drummer myself for 25 years i always pay more attention than most to the drums and a lot of people including myself wanted Brain for this tour, however im pleased to say i totally underestimated Frank, he is on the money

personally I thought Frank was a weak link in some of the AFD songs, esp SCOM; other than that, the band seems to sound great and axl is definitly on his game; hope they caome to the states at some point in 2010

Not at all... they are being converted by the recorder and released when ready. I have to say there are some miserable fuckers here...I spend 4 hours typing up my experiences, and people bitch about something that has nothing to do with the show. The recorder's name is not mentioned to stop arseholes from bugging him so he can get on with splitting and converting to .flac files... I am sure he would have released them as a huge 8gb or so of wav... but then you would complain about the size  ::)

It sounded great!  Especially with the little flubs in the singing.  Makes it even better, like the "ok nevermind!" in the Blues. It sounds like it was difficult for Axl to not just collapse into laughing when he realized his mistakes  :rofl:
