Here Today... Gone To Hell!

The days of touring are soon upon us again. Ah, I can hardly wait for the live updates to start rolling in again! Exciting.  :D

I made the thread for expectations, and general fun stories from the past tours.

This time around there's much to catch our interest. The CD is out now, they're doing bigger venues, DJ Ashba has joined the fold etc etc.

Axl & co gave us quite a few surprises on the road last time around, with different special guests (Izzy, Bach, Kid Rock, Angry Anderson, Bubbles), doing two surprise acoustic sets, people in Norway holding their breath before the first show there...  :hihi:

I'm so excited for this tour. I'm really excited about that first date to hopefully see some pics of the production and ofcourse hear about the setlist(s)!

It's gonna be amazing to see Ashba play with GNR on this tour.

Anyone going to any of the Canadian shows going to hold off on these updates? 

I'm thinking this time around I won't be on here once the shows in Asia start 'cause when I see the band in Toronto, Hamilton and London I want to have an element of surprise that I haven't had before.  Every other show I've always been able to predict the setlist with a fair amount of certainty so this time around I'm going without any updates so I can be surprised as to what gets played first, next and well, I'd be very surprised if they ended it with anything but Paradise City (rightfully so).

Anyone else on here looking for a little surprise this time around?

The first interview has arrived. I'm hoping for a radio interview before the Canadian tour, it would have been fantastic. Maybe a studio interview with all members, I remember Axl hinting on the idea with KROQ in 2006, too bad it didn't happen.

Yeah I was just watching the Paul McCartney show that was on NBC or something. And the Pyro's for Live and Let Die blew me away. I know that's what the band has to have up their sleeves!

Wait a minute.  That's the other side of the world and aren't they a day ahead of most of us?  So that would mean for a lot of us GNR hit the stage on the 10th?

The current local time in Taipei is 07:25 am, 7th Dec... I guess that's roughly 12-13 hours ahead of those in the US, and around 7 hours for Europe (plus-minus of course)

That means those of you in America will have to get up early on the 11th to follow the live updates.

Europeans can sleep a little longer...  ;)

Not really.  What time do you think GNR will hit the stage?  I'd guess not till 10 or so, so 10am on the eastern seaboard of the US the updates should come flowing in.  I'll have to check in from work though.

Well, yeah.. It's hard to say when they'll hit the stage. The official time is 7pm, and there aren't any openers announced as far as I know. On shows in Asia (at least Japan) in the past, they've pretty much started the show right on time..

Yes, there's an opener - I read somewhere that Axl himself did chose the band...
Anyway, we're 4 days away from the show here in America :)

I was just thinking of that.  I hadn't heard of any openers.  I know one was announced for Seoul but I hadn't heard anything about the Taipei show.  Well, IF there aren't any openers and they do go on at 7 I can get the updates before I head off to work.  Either way, I'll figure out a way to stay up to date.

What I'm interested in is Axl's current image, how DJ plays the solos, how tight the band in general sounds and the stage setup. Hope they have a more interesting stage setup now, than 2002 and 2006-07...

nothing big..  some stuff about 2006. the tour.. axl who is on his own time table for his own reasons (wich are good btw)(the ones Baz says)

and that he maybe will do back in the saddle or stuck inside with axl(but that's just speculation)

yeah that's pretty much it, talks about how long he's known Axl, how gracious Axl has been to him, helped his career, interviewer asked Bach about the delay in tour since the album came out, his answer was about Axl doing things in his own time schedule, etc

Yes.  Taipei is 13 hours ahead of NYC time.  So Friday (evening) 7 PM  Taipei is Friday (morning) 6am here.

The G N' R clock says like 5 hrs and a half that would be basicly midnight eastern time and 1pm there.We all know how Axl likes to perform late at night.opening act(s) 1-3 and G N' R at 3:30 and finish around 6pm.7am for us easterns.

If you're talking about the countdown timer, it just counts down to Dec 11th based on your computer time.

You should expect GN'R to go on stage 6-9am eastern, depending on there being openers or not. The show is scheduled for 7pm local time.
