Title: Don't Cry this time around? Post by: LIGuns on November 06, 2009, 09:30:36 AM How about a shrt rendtion of Axl N' Baz doing Don't Cy leading into Sorry..Baz of course taking the late Shannon Hoons vocals in DC..

Title: Re: Don't Cry this time around? Post by: NaturalLight on November 06, 2009, 01:09:50 PM I think they'll play it. Don't think Baz will sing it, though. Figure he'll do My Michelle again and Sorry. If he does anymore it could be looked at as overkill. (I'm not saying it necessarily is, but some people may look at it like that.) Then again, they could mix it up. Overall, I expect Baz to sing at least one song anyway.

Title: Re: Don't Cry this time around? Post by: Christian on November 06, 2009, 02:02:25 PM Baz could not fill Shannon Hoon's shoes. I think this is not the subject of the thread, but, anyway, i always hated all LIVE perfomances of Don't Cry where Shannon is singing it. (But i love the backing vocals he does in the Illusions)Title: Re: Don't Cry this time around? Post by: downzy56 on November 06, 2009, 06:41:21 PM I don't really see Axl and Baz doing it together, but definitely Bumblefoot starting it off as a solo, then Axl coming in during the second verse, and the entire band coming in during the bridge. That would be pretty bad ass.
As for duets with Baz, my money is on Back in the Saddle Again. I see this set being less AFD heady, so I wouldn't count on My Michelle being played as often. Plus it would be cool to see Axl rip it up with Baz on this song since it was on Baz's most recent album. Cheers, Andrew Title: Re: Don't Cry this time around? Post by: willow on November 06, 2009, 06:52:51 PM I for one would love to see it brought back. Not every night but throw it in once in awhile. It makes it more touching that way.

Title: Re: Don't Cry this time around? Post by: Jude on November 07, 2009, 04:50:53 PM Of course i hope they will play this, they dont have to do it on every gig, but yet sometimes. Don't Cry is like one of the ultimate GNR tracks ever, it always gives you goosebumps, especially nowadays when they dont play it so often.

what i don't see is the connection between don't cry and sorry. What I meant was hopefullyAxl N' Baz will play Sorry, and while Baz is out there they due Don't Cry as well. Baz really doesn't sing much on Sorry, so it it neccassary? What is great w/ how the did My Michelle was the tradeing verses.. Someone responsed on playing Back in the Saddle, that would be great. Don't Cry could be interesting, but maybe not the best idea for Axl N' Baz to trade off vocals. Title: Re: Don't Cry this time around? Axl started to sing it at the first concert in Japan. It was a huge surprise and very moving when everyone thought the show was closed with paradise city axl joined Ron's soloing to make the second encore. Title: Re: Don't Cry this time around?
