Title: Scott Weiland: 'I?m not a difficult frontman at all' Post by: FunkyMonkey on November 06, 2009, 09:17:50 AM From the November issue of Skinnie Magazine...
While Weiland compared reuniting with STP with coming home, there?s not as much hope of reconciliation riding on the Velvet Revolver front. A much publicized rift between Weiland and certain members of VR not only left the group searching for a new vocalist, but left Weiland having to defend himself against accusations of being a difficult frontman. ?I?m not a difficult frontman at all,? said Weiland. ?No. I actually was in the band with those guys and we had a great time until the end when we didn?t have a great time, then I knew it was time to bail out. I heard a lot of stories about a certain singer who everyone knows about and sometimes I wonder if all those stories are all true or maybe there?s another point of view.? I'm inclined to believe that Weiland's difficult. The thing is, Scott's admittedly bi-polar and people with that kind of personality disorder never think that they're wrong no matter how many people say that they are.

I take it you're a psychiatrist? Title: Re: Scott Weiland: 'I?m not a difficult frontman at all' Post by: FunkyMonkey on November 06, 2009, 02:26:55 PM I'm sure there are two sides to the story.
But in recent interviews Slash has called Scott "difficult", so Scott responded. At least he's not taking a shot at any of the band members, just defending himself. Slash also said in a recent interview "The five years that we did Velvet Revolver - it wasn't really that much fun. We had success and I never really enjoyed the success at all." That surprised me. Again, probably two sides. Title: Re: Scott Weiland: 'I?m not a difficult frontman at all' Post by: NaturalLight on November 06, 2009, 02:53:20 PM I'm sure there are two sides to the story. I take it you're a psychiatrist? I didn't diagnose Mr. Weiland with bi-polar disorder. Scott himself talks about it freely in interviews. Before he joined VR I had read negative things about him and how he's difficult to deal with. Scott's very talented and I think that if there was any way the rest of the band could have made it work with him they probably would have. Afterall, didn't Duff really try to help him in the beginning? Title: Re: Scott Weiland: 'I?m not a difficult frontman at all' Post by: D on November 06, 2009, 04:09:24 PM my opinion, Frontmen write the lyrics and melodies and have an idea of what they want in their head.
If the rest of the band are too dickless to speak up, they have no right to complain Reading Slash's, book, sounds to me, they were so afraid of Axl, they had no guts to stand up and even say anything, so Axl being difficult or Scott being difficult was jut due to those guys being too gutless an afraid to confront them. They wait till they are safe in their house to mention it to a reporter. Title: Re: Scott Weiland: 'I?m not a difficult frontman at all' Post by: Dayle1066 on November 06, 2009, 07:23:45 PM I totally agree with D. If your in a band its a compromise between everybody, so if a singer or any member starts getting out of hand its everyone elses job to sort it out straight away.
It goes back to the Matt Sorum interview where he says he wanted everyone to confront Axl, and he would turn around and they'd all walk the other way. Thats how things escalate until its too late in any situation band or otherwise. Therefore everyone has a part in it whatever way you look at it. well whose fault is that? They didn't have the guts to say "look here Scott, we want to do THIS like Slash was against doing the Cover which ended up knocking fucking Messages off the record... its YOUR band dude.... Tell brendan O Brien to fuck off and u aren't doing it. Title: Re: Scott Weiland: 'I?m not a difficult frontman at all' Post by: Fingers on November 07, 2009, 09:37:09 AM I think the DeLeo brother might beg to differ, especially after the near fistfight that broke up STP back in 2001-amazing frontman, but not difficult? I don't know about that
