Title: Lyrics question on "Estranged" and Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" Post by: MC13 on September 15, 2009, 11:54:45 AM Recently picked up Bob Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisted" album and was listening to "Like a Rolling Stone" when I did a double-take after hearing these lines:
Quote You used to laugh about Everybody that was hangin out Now you don't talk so loud Now you don't seem so proud About having to be scrounging for your next meal. Having listened to "Estranged" a few thousand times over the years, the similarity immediately came to mind: Quote And now that you've been broken down Got your head out of the clouds You're back down on the ground And you don't talk so loud And you don't walk so proud Any more, and what for I'm sure many others have noticed this but I couldn't find any previous discussion on the topic. Curious if others had any thoughts on whether this was merely coincidence or an intentional homage on the part of Axl.
