Guns N? Roses to perform in India Lakshmi Govindrajan The Asian Age Guns N? Roses are playing in India. Pinch yourself, because this isn?t a dream! After decades of speculation and rumours about coming to India, the American rock band will perform in Bengaluru on November 7 at the Palace Grounds. Confirming this news, Raj Sinha, director of Rhapsody Inc., the company that is organising the concert said, "Yes, it is true that we are bringing Guns N? Roses to India. As of now I can tell you that the Bengaluru concert has been confirmed. We?re still in talks with people in Mumbai and Delhi, so let?s hope that works out. However, there is a good chance we can take the band to Shillong as well. The band was supposed to have played there on September 19, but for some reason it didn?t work out." Dubbed as Axl and Friends, the band has seen major transformation over the years and the only founding member to be a part of the current lineup is vocalist Axl Rose. While other famous members like Slash, Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan left the band citing various differences, Axl remained. The band finally released the album Chinese Democracy with newer members in 2008. The album was in the making for around 15 years and was much awaited, though it received a timid response. "I can confirm that Axl Rose and Dizzy Reed will be there. DJ Ashba, their latest entrant, will be there. There will also be a person called Troy and two other members," said Sinha. Rhapsody Inc. is a venture of Chromosome Production Pvt. Ltd, a company that has organised concerts of musicians like A.R. Rahman and Jagjit Singh. This is the company?s first international venture. Let?s hope for all our sakes, this one really works out" http://www.asianage.com/presentation/leftnavigation/supplements/delhi-age/guns-n%E2%80%99-roses-to-perform-in-india.aspx Sources say date is 7th November 2009. kthxbai Title: Re: FALSE: 7TH NOV, 2009 - Palace Grounds,Bengaluru Post by: The Prez on September 09, 2009, 04:29:34 AM The more (non yet confirmed) tourdates are comming, the more I believe it will happen... seems like 2002 ;-)

Let?s hope for all our sakes, this one really works out" Who the hell is Troy ? . According to the info confirmed by the comnpany representative the line up is composed only by 6 members (Troy + Dizzy + Axl+DJ Ashba + the two guys ), so there are two guys missing from the old line up . This should be the less reliable info ever published Anyway this gig in India does not seem the best of the ideas . Would n?t it be a better idea to start the tour in a proper way in USA or Europe rather than dealing with an Indian company who has never organized an international event ? Title: Re: FALSE: 7TH NOV, 2009 - Palace Grounds,Bengaluru Post by: Ezikiel on September 09, 2009, 06:42:01 AM do you know about international artists playing in India?

PS - that third option was not a serious one. Title: Re: FALSE: 7TH NOV, 2009 - Palace Grounds,Bengaluru Post by: faldor on September 09, 2009, 09:43:48 AM Does Troy have a last name or is he like Madonna? If that comment wasn't in the article I'd be more apt to believe this, but that's a tough one. The website is down now. Doesn't look very likely. Maybe they're just checking their facts, which they should've done in the first place.

Guns N? Roses in Dimapur? Sept. 1 2009 I?ve checked my media sources in Delhi and Bangalore, and just a few hours ago, Oregon new south and Los Angeles. The group?s tour managers made no mention of an India date either, leave alone Dimapur but the scent is still strong. But, wait, repeat, but wait, there are persuasive info that it?s actually a US supergroup with members drawn from Alice Cooper, Guns N? Roses and White Lion for a Dimapur show. Phew. The trail has led to a Dimapur-based events management group which is rigging up the this-and-thats for the rockers. Yes, plans are on and lots of super top-secret 10 PM meetings are on. Nonetheless--it's nice to wake up one day reading you're in some way involved with Guns N Roses. (just not when it's a nasty rumor) Let me be the 1st to say I am not in GNR and although I was working some dates for India, it was NOT with AXL, I would NEVER state that I represent AXL or GNR. How silly is that thought? The dates in India were to be with Dizzy Reed, Eric Dover (Slash's SnakePit) and myself as well as Gilby Clarke's Bassist Muddy Stardust. Those dates moved to October (NOT NOVEMBER and not in the city of Bengaluru) and Dizzy Reed CAN NOT and WILL NOT be in India for any event as far as I am aware of. At least not any event involving me. (Kids, don't try to read into that, but I simply don't speak for GNR in anyway, shape or form). This rumor is the result of an overzealous promoter that mixed up information. I have spoken my direct contacts in India to confirm that they in no way shape or form alluded to the fact that AXL or any version of GNR would perform in India. Irving Azoff is their manager and all GNR related events go thru him, not me. I don't know who Rhapsody Inc is, nor do I know or have ever been in contact directly with Chromosome Production Pvt. Ltd. I love GNR rumors as much as the next one, just not one that can some how thru a few degrees of separation involve me. If all goes as planned, I will be in INDIA 9/30 and 10/3 and the line up will be confirmed when it comes from my mouth, no one elses. If GUNS is playing in India at any time, I have nothing to do with it in any degree. Thank you for reading---this is the only place that will get a reply for now as I'm a huge Jarmo fan and HTGTH fan. GUNS N' ROSES Not Playing India In November... Or Any Other Month - Sep. 9, 2009 WHITE LION drummer Troy Patrick Farrell, who also plays in HOOKERS 'N' BLOW with GUNS N' ROSES keyboardist Dizzy Reed, has shot down reports that GUNS N' ROSES will perform in India in November. Am I to understand he was/is the drummer for White Lion? I dig them. I do know that was very cool of him to clear the air and squash this rumor. People were starting to come up with their crazy conspiracy theories again. And Troy seems like a cool and humorous dude.
Thanks a lot Troy. Title: Re: FALSE: 7TH NOV, 2009 - Palace Grounds,Bengaluru Post by: veritas55 on September 09, 2009, 08:03:19 PM I'm still not completely clear on who Troy is. Troy is an extremely cool dude, who has played with a bunch of people, including the re-formed White Lion and Hookers, etc. Very down to earth, honest, and not arrogant. As you can tell by his post. And a very solid drummer too. Title: Re: FALSE: 7TH NOV, 2009 - Palace Grounds,Bengaluru Post by: sandman on September 09, 2009, 08:16:31 PM I'm still not completely clear on who Troy is. Here?s what we knew about the Guns N? Roses India tour till yesterday 1. Mysterious Indian classical music and real estate event promoter Rhapsody Inc set up a website that claimed Guns N? Roses would play the Palace Grounds, Bangalore on November 7. 2. When we asked the company about the gig, they said all would be revealed on September 15. 3. The site was then taken down for about 12 hours. 4. When it came back up, the Nov 7 date had been removed and the phone number of the company?s Bangalore office had been taken off as well. If you click on the link now it reads "rhapsody inc we'll soon be back". http://www.rhapsodyinc.in/ Title: Re: FALSE: 7TH NOV, 2009 - Palace Grounds,Bengaluru Post by: estebanf on September 11, 2009, 01:15:21 AM another link to the fake news: http://www.apunkachoice.com/content/article/sid557-guns_n_roses_coming_to_india/
