Title: GN'R Guitarist Situation?
Post by: LIGuns on August 03, 2009, 01:12:42 PM
Trent Renzor is declaring after 10 intimate US club shows NIN will be done touring indefinately..I wonder where this leaves Robin..Will he be back? Will he at least contribute in the studio? Will DJ be on tour, or is will he just be polishing up studio material?

I believe when they tour, all signs point to DJ joining them on stage. Which I really like that idea now. To me, Life is Beautiful is a great song, so DJ will definitely add something to the band.

I loved Finck's stage presence and enjoy on stage, he moved around a ton. I hope DJ is just as energetic and doesnt stand in one spot the entire show.

i like what angeles does. unlike some, she never tries to belittle other guys.

about the topic no idea but i don't think he's on bad terms with the band including dj.
maybe he'll make a guest appearance or two. who knows.

Thanks for the videos. 'Life is Beautiful' is an amazing song. They're a great live band. We're lucky to have DJ in GNR.

Wasn't aware there was a situation

Let's see, Robin left not once but twice

Let's also don't forget, Robin leaving Axl hanging may have helped fuck up promotion for CD as Axl didn't have one of his lead guitarist and couldn't do gigs/promo if he wanted.

Agreed. The guy left the band for NIN twice so it's obvious he'd rather be over there. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if NIN is touring again before you know it. I never believe it when artists say "This is the last tour, album, etc."

Yeah, it's all Robin's fault.  Maybe Bucket's too.  And that damn Brain as well.  But not the "leader" of the collection of players??

Let's not forget that Robin and Bucket put their time in when things didn't always look so good for this band.  DJ is in a much better place with the band...and plus Robin and Bucket already have parts on the next album.

My point is Robin quit and it isn't like he called Axl up and was like "Hey dude, I got this cool offer from Trent and I think I am going back. Thanks for everything Good luck"

He just took off and never said a word.

My point is, true it is Axl's fault at the end of the day with the promotion BUT he couldn't have done shit if he had wanted to with Robin in Limbo. Maybe he wanted to be loyal to Robin and not replace him?

Perhaps, Robin knew there was no plan to speak of and he was tired of being in the abyss.  I can't say I blame the guy.  He likes to play live and to sit around and basically become a studio player had to be tough on him.

Well at least he got a chance to finally record some cool stuff. I don't understand how Trent can work with so many great players and hardly ever let them record parts, but I guess that's just Trent.
