can someone help me with that UYI1 award on ebay:

it is presented to STEVEN ADLER, it looks damn real (& i think it is) but the problem is steven didnt play on illusion 1, to me he only played on the illusion 2 or am i missing something (very possible ! )
so if anyone can help me, to proove it is real or fake cause my idea now is that award is totally real but according to the fact steven only played civil war on UYI2 it can only be a fake.

The award appears legit, the Fitzgerald Hartley Marketing sticker on the back is also a sign that it is a legit award.  I know for a fact that an AFD Platinum Award I have is legit and it has that sticker on the back as well.  Obviously the RIAA hologram etc helps to authenticate it also (although any of this stuff could protentially be copied but it would take a lot of work).

But I did wonder like you why Adler got an award for UYI I?  Everything looked right but that made me scratch my head a bit.  but I suppose they could have made one for him, I mean hell they make awards to give to "Tower Records" and other loosely associated people so why not Adler.

Was that you that bought it for $600?  That's fucken cheap.  Didn't the original seller have it listed at buy it now for like $10,0000 or something stupid?

He is on the cd in places. I would say its legit.

i' d say legit too but... why $600 sold indeed, when first asked price was $1600 (probably the right & reasonable price). seller wanted to sell it quickly for cheap or what. bizarre... kind of things that can proove it is not totally legit. also the back is usually black & here it s not, plus i really dont think adler should have one for illusion one. or maybe they made a mistake at factory thinking adler played on useI.
well $600 is kinda great price sure if thats real, if not thats expensive even for a well made (or copied) like this one.

Beside "Civil War" Steven ain't nowhere on UYI.

He has for sure done several drum ideas for a bunch of uyi-tracks, but on the actual record it ain't him.

 steven will have some input for sure because loads of UYI material was written and played in the early days, but like you say 'on the actual record it ain't him'
if it ain't him on the record credits then why the award?.
im not saying its fake because of this..... its just a bit confusing
but then again because of his input into the record then he must deserve something.......

Before I say anything understand that I am just hypothesizing - I have no idea how the industry works.  But on the UYI albums in the booklets under the name of the song I think it has the credit for who wrote the lyrics but not the music???  For example Estranged - I know Slash gets thanked after the typed lyrics but he wrote the guitar parts for the whole song right?  If my theory is true then maybe Steven would get the award for writing some of the music for the songs from the early days (like Wadey mentioned) - Back off Bitch, November Rain, etc.  Again just speculation.

Its fake becouse he played on UYI #2 not 1 man and I dont think he would get an award for drumming one song on only one of those albums.

oh yes he can surely receive an award even if he played on one song only, no doubt about that, but as said he played on use2 not use1 so... no idea

even radio stations get these awards. i wouldn't say its fake so quick.

I deserve an award for "Use Your Illusion" more than Steven does...
