We haven't heard too much from Camp Freddy lately.  I wonder if Ozzy Osbourne will make an appearance again. 8)

I suspect Navarro's Jane's commitments have curtailed the CF activty to a degree.

The economy has effected the demand for private gigs as well, make no mistake - (beyond the numerous charitable gigs of course) Freddy and the endless list of guests do not come cheap...

THE RETURN OF THE FREDDY

Camp Freddy will be back in action in Los Angeles on August 1st at the House Of Blues for their annual ESPN/X-Games extravaganza. And the cancelled show in Mexico will also be rescheduled, but it seems that it will now take place in Los Angeles. More shows are on the schedule for the rest of the year and will be announced later. Also, the band are beginning an exciting process that will end up on your TV screens early next year.

STEVE STEVENS Replaces DAVE NAVARRO In CAMP FREDDY

July 11, 2009

Billy Morrsion of CAMP FREDDY has issued the following update:

"Camp Freddy is beginning the process of putting the lineup together for the House Of Blues show on August 1st, and I love when we get going like this. It's been a while, so we are all fresh and ready to rock. Dear Dave (Navarro) will be in Europe with JANE'S ADDICTION, so the one and only Mr. Steve Stevens (guitarist for BILLY IDOL) will be ripping it up stage right for the evening. And as usual we will drag along a few friends to spice things up. It's a fun, creative process - and we will also be starting our TV project that same weekend. Can't say too much about that right now but if all goes well, you can look for some Freddy In Your Living Room sometime in 2010.

Still "in the works" but on the extreme back burner...

I don't expect to see it anytime soon..

Steve Stevens!  I love Steve Stevens!

Truth be told, I had a great time at the one Freddy show I went to.  The May residency at The Roxy in 2008.  The economy was still good and the women had a little more class.

From Billy Morrision, here is some of his blog about tonight...

I find myself awake on Camp Freddy show day about three hours before I should be....head full of a million different projects! Last nights rehearsal was dynamite. A few of our guests came down and we went at it for about 6 hours. Normally we don't rehearse but as its been a minute since our last show, and we wanted to do a few new songs and had a couple of new guests, we figured....what the hell, it can't hurt, right?? So we did what we do, and had a fucking blast doing it....The gig tonight is shaping up to be a good one.

Mallika Sherawat attends her first Rock N Roll show in LA!

04 Aug 09

Mallika Sherawat continues to take Hollywood by storm, recently hanging out with rock stars at the famed Sunset Strip music venue The House Of Blues. As a special guest of Donovan Leitch (son of legendary musician Donovan) at his Camp Freddy gig, Mallika met and hobnobbed with Ace Frehely of the band KISS, Duff McKagan of GUNSnROSES, Dave Navarro of JANES ADDICTION, Billy Duffy of THE CULT and Ozzy Ozbourne.

Accompanied by her Los Angeles entourage, Mallika hung out backstage before the show, then enjoyed her very first rock concert down front of the stage for the full experience. She "tweeted" throughout the night on her Twitter social networking account, saying to her followers "OMG! Ozzy's on right now! I have no eardrums left!" and that notorious rake of rock Dave Navarro was "very charming and a perfect gentlemen."

When asked what she thought of the concert, she replied, "Please speak up, I really can't hear anything at all." When the question was loudly repeated, Mallika said she "had great fun. Donovan was the perfect host. For my first rock concert, it couldn't have been better!"

From Duff McKagan in his weekly column regading Saturday's show...

I had the chance to take part in a Camp Freddy gig down in L.A. last weekend at the House of Blues. Camp Freddy is a sort of rock-and-roll collective that gets together once in a while to play some gig or another (from fundraisers to straight-up "money gigs" for something like the X-Games or Nintendo). This time, Camp Freddy featured Steve Jones (Pistols), Justin Hawkins (the Darkness), Ace Fuckin' Frehley, Steve Stevens, and yes, Ozzy Osbourne. The shit was KILLER.

When I got to the soundcheck on Saturday, KISS' "Cold Gin" was being played and Ace was there, larger than life. I knew then and there that I was indeed having a very good day. Good rock 'n' roll from yesteryear seems to hit you in a different place. Good rock has most likely already trod a well-worn groove into my psyche that is now just a comfortable place for a song like "War Pigs" or "God Save the Queen" to revisit. Whatever--it fuckin' feels good and RIGHT.
