Title: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: Adler_Sorum_Brain on June 10, 2009, 06:54:47 AM As you all know, Metallica was inducted this year. And i think GNR deserves it to.
What's your thoughts on that ? How should it go down ??? I think it would be weird to get the "new" band to accept it, because at least 80% of the material came with the old lineup, and i don't think Axl's to keen on sharing the same stage as slash  (maybe this has already been a topic) Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: D on June 10, 2009, 06:59:28 AM here is how it will go down:
they will be inducted in 2012 I would be shocked if Axl showed up for it but if he is into it U will probably see Axl and GNR do a song and Slash,Izzy,Duff and Adler do a song with a singer. just hope it doesn't go on like Van Halen. that was embarrassing Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: AtariLegend on June 10, 2009, 07:00:55 AM (maybe this has already been a topic) I don't think this topic has ever been discussed before. By the way, does anyone know the release date for the next album...? ??? Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? The five guys who get that honor will be the 5 who contributed to AFD. I would love to see the 5 of them up there together. Won't happen. But it would be a pretty magic moment nonetheless. Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: jacdaniel on June 10, 2009, 07:41:05 AM yeah they definitly deserve it! it would be great if they were mature enough to do one song.

Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: jacdaniel on June 10, 2009, 08:19:53 AM Maybe they could arrange the largest stage in rock n roll history were Axl is kept a good half a kilometre away! just kidding lol
Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: The Catcher on June 10, 2009, 08:21:26 AM They deserve it more than anyone.

I agree, any scenario would be embarassing unless they get there shit together and show up at least to honor there legacy. Im sure Axl and Slash dont have to stand by each other. Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: jacdaniel on June 10, 2009, 08:34:07 AM Actually, after thinking about this a little harder, I guess if they did perform together at the show the reunion talk would really take them by storm. But there is no point in doing it unless all parties are happy to. Would still like to see one song though!
Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: gilld1 on June 10, 2009, 08:41:18 AM There have been plenty of bands that have gotten over their hurt feelings to get back together. Who would have ever thought that the Eagles, after all of their in-fighting, would tour and record again. Same with Pink Floyd, the Police and DLR and Van Halen.
That being said, I am not holding my breath. Axl and Slash both need to do some serious growing up. Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: Dr. Blutarsky on June 10, 2009, 08:51:28 AM just hope it doesn't go on like Van Halen. that was embarrassing Yeah, that was pretty bad. I think it would be the new band and maybe Duff and Izzy participating as well. Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: jacdaniel on June 10, 2009, 08:57:01 AM Quote That being said, I am not holding my breath. Axl and Slash both need to do some serious growing up. I personally still believe that creative differences will keep these guys apart forever. See below quote from slash. He knows that Chinese Democracy is a good album but we all must agree that the old band would never have been able to make it. The old band were really raw. A cool riff made so many great tracks. Chinese Democracy is what Axl wanted GNR to evolve towards. Its just a bigger production that the others went into. Contraband shows the simple approach preferred by Slash/Duff. Whichever you like is your own opinion. A lot of us like both. Listening to CD and Contraband will definitly back this arguement up. In my eyes, i wouldnt mind seeing a one off performance or a few shows but i dont think these guys will agree again creatively speaking, judging on these 2 albums. Quote "It?s a record that the original Guns N? Roses could never possibly make. And at the same time it just shows you how brilliant Axl is. says Slash" Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: D on June 10, 2009, 09:05:51 AM Lets dont turn this into reunion talk
Axl has one thing that bands like Van Halen, Motley etc dont and that is, this guy just doesn't give a shit about fame or money... those bands reunited for the money and fame. Axl would never do something just for that which is why this is a different story. Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: erose on June 10, 2009, 09:07:10 AM Axl commented on this even...
Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: D on June 10, 2009, 09:07:47 AM Axl commented on this even... He commented on Hall of Fame? Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: jacdaniel on June 10, 2009, 09:10:23 AM Quote He commented on Hall of Fame? yeah in his QaA. ill try and find exactly what he said now. I believe Slash said something like "I hope we could be mature enough" and Axl said "Thats cute" (Of slashs post). Ill try and locate it now. Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: D on June 10, 2009, 09:15:57 AM NO, i just don't want the thread locked which is why I said that about the reunion.
Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: jacdaniel on June 10, 2009, 10:32:30 AM Hi
This is what Slash said in relation to the RNRHOF. Quote I never even thought about it until we had to do that. Somebody asked me, 'Do you think you guys will be able to show up for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (induction ceremony) in five years?' "I was like, 'Oh, I guess we're eligible.' It never dawned on me before then. If this comes up, I'd hope we'd be mature enough to get up and do that, but I have no idea." This is what Axl said Quote The whole "mature enough" bit was cute. Not to offend anyone but personally I don't have an interest and other than inducting Elton don't quite get what it is exactly and who decides what. It seems to mean more to some than others and more so amongst fans. It's nice to get recognition and have some form of acceptance but in regards to joining others the price is too high and just not worth it. It's a ways away and seems a bit presumptuous to be contemplating being inducted now. Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: Adler_Sorum_Brain on June 10, 2009, 03:13:04 PM Thank you jacdaniel, iv'e been looking for quotes about this from the guys for a few days now ( also one of the reasons i got this thread together )
: ok: : ok: Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: LunsJail on June 10, 2009, 04:22:12 PM Personally I think if Axl wasn't involved than the rest of the guys should just stay away from it too. The Van Halen one felt very half assed but Metallica this past year was great.
Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: BlowUpYourVideo on June 10, 2009, 07:35:15 PM Not to sound negative, but GNR being inducted in 2012 or even a few years after that isn't a given. I mean, there are some bands like Iron Maiden, KISS and The Stooges who haven't made it in. Those bands' debut albums came out in 1980, 1974 and 1969 and despite their popularity/influence etc. haven't been inducted.
If/when GNR are inducted, relationships between people might be very different than they are now so it's difficult to speculate what could happen. Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: DJ_bullet on June 16, 2009, 09:05:51 PM As we all know, G'N'R will be eligible for the RNR hall of fame in '12.
the theory: They will do a one off reunion show. However, Axl and Slash steping on the same stage together, to do a soundcheck a couple hours before the show will be the first event in timeline zero, when everything imagineable will happen. Shortly afterwards, the universe will cease to exist, then, rebirth. Billions of years later, GNR will reunite and so the cycle repeats. Okay, I'm joking... OR AM I!? Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: jacdaniel on June 17, 2009, 03:03:44 AM There is a thread for this in already in this same section. :)

Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: Bodhi on June 28, 2009, 01:53:34 PM just hope it doesn't go on like Van Halen. that was embarrassing heres my wild guess...at the rock hall you will see Steven, Slash, Matt and Duff...and MAYBE Izzy... Instead of GNR tearing the roof off the place like Metallica did, you will see Fergie and the Black eyed Peas do renditions of GNR songs...or something equally lame.. Title: Re: GNR in RNR Hall of fame..? Post by: seely on June 29, 2009, 06:20:28 AM As you all know, Metallica was inducted this year. And i think GNR deserves it to. What's your thoughts on that ? Hell yeah I think that it would go down like just the old line up would play in the bands they each made for themselfs hell with all the things you could tie to GN'R it could fill up a whole wing in the RNR hall of fame!!!!What's your thoughts on that ?
