Title: somthing interesting Post by: banachkevin on June 02, 2009, 08:56:03 PM i was reading the saskatoon paper and came across a saskatoon tourism booklet of upcoming events this summer, and on the july calender it says "guns n roses july 18 creditunion center" there is no reason for saskatoon tourism lie or make this up. I wonder if dates were booked, and have now been canceled but is a new paper! I work in a mine and unable to scan it for you fine folks, but will try when i fly home next week. july 18 is not far away it would be crazy to sell shows this late.

ACDC,rolling stones, greenday ect ect. i hope and pray that i can see these guys kick my ass on my turf

Someone over at another forum mentioned that he knew for a fact that there was a date held for GNR at the beginning of July in Vancouver, British Columbia. Perhaps there were tentative plans made in the chance that whatever needed to happen happened and the tour was a go. That's obviously not the case now and anyone who still thinks a summer tour is possible is now out of their mind. At this point it would be a mid to late fall tour if anything, but I'm not holding my breath.
My question is if GNR doesn't tour this year, then what's the point of touring at all unless they want to become a Van Halen/Aerosmith kind of band that tours on the strength of their catalogue. It would seem kind of silly to start a tour a year or more after an album's release if your plans are to promote said album. I know GNR toured the Illusion albums for two and a half years but that was a little different. You still had most of the original band, they were releasing singles and videos along the way, plus they had tremendous momentum as being the biggest band in the world at the time. Plus it seemed that tour was only extended as long as it was because the first few legs they didn't make any money due to production costs on the elaborate sets and stages. At this point I've got wonder if Axl hasn't decided to pack it in. I wouldn't necessarily blame him as it seems he gets dogged regardless of what he does. If he was that driven to perform he probably would have done it much more than he has to date. To each their own, I get it. And perhaps it's a little unfair for us fans to demand answers right away since maybe the guy doesn't even know what he wants to do and just wants to enjoy life now that Chinese Democracy is out and he no longer feels the burden of that record. In any event I'll just continue to live my life and only hope we get a show here or there. If not, it's not like it hasn't been a wild ride already. Title: Re: somthing interesting Post by: banachkevin on June 03, 2009, 08:52:17 PM it was never posted on the website just on that booklet. Too good to be true i guess, just like everything we hear about or #1 band,or lack there of.
