Title: GNR references in Calle 13 video
Post by: Wooody on May 28, 2009, 07:55:26 PM
First he raps "welcome to the jungle"
then there's a dude dressed like 1991 Axl.

Its a song about getting back to the 80's when everything was better.

I can't believe "Calle 13" is mentioned in HTGTH.

The world went crazy.

I hate rap and reggaeton and all that latin crap, but the guy from Calle 13 is really talented and a very nice person.

I don't hate rap and reggaeton and all that latin crap but the song sucks....maybe because I don't understand a word but it does sound quite outdated.

That group and their "music" are crap, zero talent, specially their monkey-faced, caveman frontman. In a couple of years no one will remember them.

 :hihi:
Well, Im like esteban, I do hate rap and I do hate reggaeton.

Calle 13 however is smart. it is difficult for people who do not speak spanish to see their talent because all you see is the same kinda rapper with the same kinda booties on a video. But believe me it is not.
I do agree that if you don't understand what he is saying you wont appreciate it. His lyrics are very clever.
the music and the video are meant to sound outdated.

i dont think calle 13 lyrics are smart at all, i have heard some people said that before. but in my opinion they just find a subject with lot of things that rhyme together and they made a song. like the electro movimiento song, it talks about staying with a girl or conquer her and they just say stuff about being together, with cheap rhymes, and the best part of the song is the one the girl sings, and shes not part of calle 13. the only one passable in my opinion its "nadie como tu" but again the corus makes the song, and the lyrics are simple rhymes.
