Title: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Post by: gilld1 on May 13, 2009, 12:09:54 PM Tho I keep searching
for an answer, I never seem to find what Im looking for Oh lord, I pray You give me strength to carry on, cos I know what it means To walk along the lonely street of dreams This may get deleted but there's not much else going on here. I heard this song for the first time in years on Sirius the other day and the "Street of Dreams" lyric stood out for obvious reasons. So, was Axl rocking out to some old school Whitesnake during the CD lost years?? Discuss. Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Loosed the chains Carried the cross Of my shame Of my shame You know I believed it But I still havent found what Im looking for..... Nah :) but like u said not much is happening. So long as we don't get threads about Axl's teeth , hair , clothes etc hahah I for one wouldn't mind those topics. usually amicable and fun at least :P Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Post by: carmiedisco12 on May 13, 2009, 12:56:26 PM I see ur point, but usually only results in Axl's aged his teeth/clothes/etc aren't as white/cool as they were.
To be honest reading and participating in those kinda threads makes me feel like a silly britney fan.....when did GNR fans become so dorky that we discuss Axl like he's our damn barbie doll....I thought it was abut rebellion/expression etc. Unfortunately the music has played a VERY distant 2nd or soooo long the fans seemed to have forgotten as well. Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Post by: gilld1 on May 13, 2009, 01:11:57 PM And Madagascar was influenced by a world atlas..... /jarmo Or a vacation. Or maybe it's his favorite animated movie in recent years. ;D I know it's a stretch, to say the least, but like another post said it's better than Axl's wardrobe or Axl's taste in women, etc. Looking back at the 80s, Whitesnake wasn't horrible. They had a couple of awesome videos thanks to Tawny Kittaen. It's not like I said "Did Enuff Z Nuff influence CD?"!! LOL Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Post by: ppbebe on May 13, 2009, 01:17:16 PM I see ur point, but usually only results in Axl's aged his teeth/clothes/etc aren't as white/cool as they were. when in reality those are whiter / more 'in' than they used to be... But yea rock isn't about fashion. it's about the message in it. and on cd it's deep. Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Post by: patcooper on May 14, 2009, 05:30:42 AM And Madagascar was influenced by a world atlas..... /jarmo i thought it was cockroaches Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Post by: Layflats on May 14, 2009, 09:14:29 AM John Sykes was/is a badass.
Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Post by: LIGuns on May 14, 2009, 11:54:37 AM Yes I've seen better posts, but as you pointed out there is nothing else going on...And we do look silly, like Britney fans, discussing wardrobe and hygeine. Perhaps it's the calm before the storm.....
Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Post by: oldgunsfan on May 14, 2009, 12:48:24 PM i didn't hear any whitesnake influences on CD
Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? Post by: ppbebe on May 14, 2009, 12:52:46 PM But i prefer the silliness of discussing wardrobe and hygiene(?) than of hateful whinnings that bore me silly.
And Madagascar was influenced by a world atlas..... /jarmo i thought it was cockroaches was there massive propagation of cockroaches in Madagascar? Title: Re: Did Whitesnake influence CD?? So, was Axl rocking out to some old school Whitesnake during the CD lost years?? Discuss. funny thing I listened to it two days ago and I asked myself the same question, I've never noticed it before. I'm not into Whitesnake but I like this particular song, Here I Go Again. so maybe yes, it's a "wink". the fact is Chinese Democracy was made like a classic (but modern) rock album, with multiples influences, so why not, even if Whitesnake is not the most relevant in my opinion.
