During the hiatus of VELVET REVOLVER, guitarist Dave Kushner was asked to fill in on guitar for the "Monster Circus" show in Las Vegas while Bruce Kulick (ex-KISS) was off doing a GRAND FUNK RAILROAD gig. Gus Griesinger from BackstageAxxess.com talked to Kushner about his participation in the show and VELVET REVOLVER's current status following the departure of singer Scott Weiland. It's interesting that he says he gets his VR news from Google Alerts...but he backed off that when he realized how that sounded. I agree the tempo was too slow, but John sounded ok there. No worse than Scott, that's for sure. And I still think he should be their frontman too. He's got the right amount of grit and balls in his voice, which is just what VR need - a kickass hard rock vocalist.
