As much as I want to say "Chinese Democracy", which I love most of the songs on... I'll go with "Use Your Illusion II".

"Estranged"/"Breakdown"/"14 Years"/"Yesterdays" shows the bands song writing at it's best.

Then you get the kick-ass "You Could Be Mine"... - Axl & Izzy at their best.

Right now its Chinese Democracy.   I'm listening to it much more than the older albums.   

Even tough i'm going through UYI I & II a lot lately, I'm 100% for CD.

So many different styles, amazing lyrics, musical parts ... It's so dense : ok:

i gotta give it to the one that started it all.

for me it was a close tie between UYI 1 CD and AFD because CD kicks alot of ass and UYI1 has Coma ( :headbanger:) and AFD started it all so i had to go with that one :)

no doubt we have waited for more than 10 years yeah i am listening to CD alot more than the others but as much as i can say about CD being one of the strongest albums this last decade but i am still goin with Appitite for Destruction its simplisity to its perfection

Anyway, I think the number speak for themselves 8) Chinese Democracy is the best Guns album ever!

but only 14 people voted so far give it "Patence" and well see what album rules GN'R fate  :smoking:

AFD by far.

Although I'm listening to CD much more than the old albums. But it's because I've been listening to the old album for years.

Appetite for Destruction is a masterpiece. The best Hard Rock album ever.

2- Use your Illusion I
3- Use your Illusion II
4- GNR Lies / Chinese Democracy (They share the same position)

It's all about UYI II, so many masterpiece songs like Civil War, 14 Years, Locomotive, Estranged, Don't Cry, Pretty Tied Up, You Could Be Mine. The rest are all really good too, one obvious exception aside. 

More people need to vote but i think it will be even.

Seeing as the old albums are damn near 20 years old, and CD is new and fresh, what does that have to do with anything listening to CD more now?

In 20 years, AFD will still be awesome and spinning everywhere

Chinese Democracy. The album that made me like the other GNR albums  : ok:

The funny thing is that I used to think the new guns were a freak show and that Axl had become a caricature of what he used to be. Then, Ron joined and I watched both Rock in Rio Lisboa and KROQ Invasion being streamed live on the intrawebs...Then ChiDem was released. And now it's my favourite album ever, even above NIN's The Fragile, which had been my favourite album for years.

Can't even say how much I love this album and this band.

Hard decision, but... Use your Illusion II :yes:

I have to go with Appetite. It was the first album that I bought that really got me into them! CD is great for experimental things but I love the classic style of Appetite.  : ok:

I love Use your Illusion 1. To me its the most complete Guns Album and its the one i listen to the most. However, Chinese Democracy and Appetite are up there with my favorite one  : ok:

i'd be a lying my ass off if i didn't say appetite for destruction, lol

i had an asthma attack when i was 7 years old that i was hospitalized for and i had cable in my hospital room which was really cool for me because we didn't have that 'luxury' at home back in 88 or whatever... anyway i remember seeing the video for paradise city come on mtv and i've been hooked ever since

"Appetite" might be their best single album, but the "Use Your Illusion" set is their best release.  If you count it as one album, which I do considering they came out the same day and were recorded the same time, then I have to go with the "Illusions."  That was one of the most diverse records in the history of music.

AFD cos of what it meant back then. It literally kicked the world in the ass and music wasn't the same anymore.

That said, I love all the other albums as well (including TSI).

Live ?!'@ Like A Suicide (1986), GN'R Lies (1988), and Live Era '87?'93 (1999) have zero votes so far I imagine no one is supprised.

I remember a former (banned) poster called fuckin crazy, i think his favorite of the bunch was GN'R Lies

My favorite is probably AFD, haven't voted though

Yeah its just that those albums are great but clearly not the best.
Use Your Illusions should be considered one album since its basicly all the same stuff in the same time line and I loved them so much.

AFD is my fav though since YUI is in two parts and AFD got my vote!

Absolutely Appetite!

It was my first real Hard Rock Album, and since then, my life changed completely, honestly. Although I'm 16 years old...

I love every single Guns Album, also Spaghetti Incident?, but Appetite is and will forever be my favourite Album of all time. Period.

it stuns me that no one picked the live era well i voted for CD but still the live era was a great album and it suprises me that no one liked it enough for it to be someones favorite album

appetite, without a doubt.

Appetite for Destruction hands down.  The record that turned me into the biggest fan of the band.  Still have my banned covered vinyl still with me and still play it.  Arguably the greates debut album from any band.

I don't need to think about this for long, I'm choosing Chinese Democracy...

To me it's more than just an album, it's a piece of art, a milestone in representing time and change. It's also got a mythical status, and to me it still is amazing to think that I've got Chinese Democracy on CD and Vinyl.

And then you think about the players, it's just a star studded cast, who would probably never collaborate together normally. But in CD, they are all there and it's caught something very special, and something that may never happen again.

You got Axl, Dizzy, Josh, Brain, Robin, Richard, Paul, Buckethead, Chris, Tommy, Ron and Frank. Then you've got the producers' touches, and also everyone else including Brian May who helped shape some of the songs' feel.

So to me Chinese Democracy is just the best album ever, and with all of the components, it's just a once a in a lifetime album.  ;)

Appetite for Destruction.

I was 8 when it came out, and GNR was the first band to ever captivate me in that way. It remains my favorite album to this day. Truly a perfect album.

This is obviously very difficult because they are all awesome...that being said Use Your Illusion I is my favorite.

Don't Damn Me is the most under rated song of all time.  I think that song is one of the 5 best GNR songs of all time.  Bad Apples and The Garden are also very under recognized as well. It also introduced November Rain and Don't Cry to the masses and those are rock classics forever. 

Appetite made me fall in love with band UYI I made me realize they were the best band of my generation.

I love all the albums of course, but picked Live Era. Guns in all their line ups are best appreciated live and Live Eras got ten out of Appetites 12 songs.

 I picked Live Era, because it brings a whole different feel to the catalogue. I love GNR live, definetly the best, if i was to pick a studio album it would be all of them.....  :peace:

cant pick one cause they belong together i think.

illusion was a mind opener for me about music.

in fact i think its the best album(s) ever made by anyone.

After all this time, I have to say the "Use Your Illusion" albums are my favorite GNR release.  If I am only allowed to choose one of them, then its Use Your Illusion 2.


Don't Damn Me is so fucking awesome, and an incredibly under rated song from UYI 1.

Don't Damn Me is so underrated, totally agree on how great this song is. Reminds me a lot of Back Off Bitch, in the perfect way the lead guitar line compliments the vocals. Also love how the lyrics are VERY intelligent and thought provoking, more so than a typical rock song. Axl's lyrics make the song in my view, and takes it up to another level altogether...  :peace:

Chinese Democracy by far for me.   Love every song on it.  My favorite is Better. 

CD hands down. Favorite album of all time. Nothing else comes even remotely close.

Their best is clearly AFD.

I'm suprised to see so many CD votes too. I'm not sure you could objectively put that album over Appetite ever.

I just don't know how you could.

I think Appetite is their most legendary- and probably rightly considered the "definitive GNR album" in most circles. That said- as far as personal preferences go- I have always been most drawn to the "Axl Rose saga" as expressed through Guns N' Roses (with impressive contributions from Slash, Izzy, Duff, Dizzy, Robin, Bucket, Tommy, Brain, etc. too of course). In that sense- for me anyway- the drama, ambition and variety of Chinese and the Illusions hold greater enduring interest (though like everyone- love me some Appetite too).

Yeah I know it's people's opinion, and that's fine. If people like CD more than AFD then who cares right?

Objectively, from it's peers and the impact it provided... AFD is clearly the better album.

That is my opinion yes, but it is also an opinion universally accepted by fans and critics..
