Title: A VERY special Rest In Peace and thank you to Axl and GN'R Post by: Shackler on March 09, 2009, 12:27:04 PM I promised a guy I met on another forum that I would post this around, he wanted to share his story and offer thanks to Axl and GN'R... He is also considering making a scrapbook of our replies in memory of his wife for his daughter.
Original Post My name is Dan B. Very long time lurker and huge GNR fan. My wife Amanda was diagnosed with leukemia around Jan 15th. She gave birth to our beautiful; daughter Gianna Rose B. on 1/23. Unfortunately Amanda passed away on Feb 25th from a bacterial infection. We were both huge GNR fans and had the honor of seeing Axl live in Boston, Hartford and Worcester and they created memories that will last a lifetime. Im writing on this board to share a string I put together and played at the wake. If its okay, Id like to share the mp3 with our fellow fans. Can someone guide me? There was at one point a two hour wait of people in the freezing cold to get in to the funeral home. Toward the end of the wake - my string started. It was the first two minutes of Love Song by 311 - which was our wedding song. It faded and the beginning of Dont Cry started to the exact two minute mark and then faded into the last line of November Rain - "So never mind the darkness, we still can find a way..." and played the remainder of the song. Then another begins, This I Love - the first exact 3 minutes of that song...it fades into a touching line from Estranged - "Ill never find anyone to replace you, guess Ill have to make it through this time, oh this time, Without You" and beautifully fades to nothing. Hundreds of people were in tears. Axl - If you happen to read this - Thank You for being you and helping me put together such a touching string of your words. You cant believe the respect and love my wife and I have for you. If your religious, please say a prayer. Please keep any replies respectful. Thank You. Its "Brini" aka Dbrini here... Just wanted to say thank you for all the kind words. I knew I had to share this with other fans after I made the tribute a reality. It was really really touching. I dont even have to say it, but you guys know the EXACT feelings these songs convey even in times of happiness or normalcy - my God I cant even begin to explain the emotions they generated for me during this time. PS - Little miss Gianna Rose is doing wonderful. PSS - "Rose" was my choice for obvious reasons. PSSS - Gianna Rose - G&R...didnt think about that one but its pretty f'n cool!
