Title: Kicked off Youtube.....
Post by: Smoking Guns on January 24, 2009, 07:49:19 PM
I was kicked off youtube and lost all videos on youtube.  The fucking video?  CAMP FREDDY from like 3 years ago.  It was Whole Lotta Love with Jimmy Flava and Slash.  It was a live video, and they fucking wiped out my whole account.  Most of my videos were of ME playing MY original songs.  My Slash tribute to Jimi Hendrix has 2.5 million views...  I had some really cool VR clips too that I filmed at concerts.  I would have taken them down if asked, but I wasn't asked, just completely wiped out.  Oh well.  I didn't know live videos were really off limits.  Just wondering who else has been band.  It won't even let me open a new account...

What I don't get is that we are promoting a product that we put on there.  I think Google changed the rules or something.  That video had been on my account for over 3 years.

YouTube sucks these days.

Look at that "Jizz In My Pants" video. That's definitely unsuitable content by their standards (I personally thought it was funny), but yet it has millions upon millions of views and it hasn't been taken down, only because of the group's SNL fame.

YouTube: Shittin' on the little guy.

It's still the place I go to for soft-core lesbian action.

"7. Account Termination Policy

A. YouTube will terminate a User's access to its Website if, under appropriate circumstances, they are determined to be a repeat infringer.

B. YouTube reserves the right to decide whether Content or a User Submission is appropriate and complies with these Terms of Service for violations other than copyright infringement, such as, but not limited to, pornography, obscene or defamatory material, or excessive length. YouTube may remove such User Submissions and/or terminate a User's access for uploading such material in violation of these Terms of Service at any time, without prior notice and at its sole discretion. "

Sounds like their policy is to remove individual vids unless you're a repeat offender, then you get your account pulled.  You could try and work with them to get re-established, or take it to court if you're really that dedicated.  Some uptight prick probably flagged the vid.

I think they've been deleting a lot of accounts lately. I never upload any of my own videos, but I have 'favorited' over a hundred videos, and about 20 of them have mysteriously disappeared in less than a week. That pisses me off, because I only downloaded a few of them on my computer.  >:(

I miss my favourites too. I don't like the new search either. Nowadays I get lots of 'this video is not available in your country' messages when I hit a link for some vid. Why show the whole damn link in search, if I can not open it ?  It's just waste of time..

Yeah, what pisses me off is wiping out copyrighted stuff that will never be on TV. like TV show performances or live videos..

For instance, I am dying to see Inside/Out, the Rise of Velvet Revolver again but guess what? You Tube yanked it down. I could understand if VH1 were selling this but they aren't. so if u aren't gonna sell it, why the fuck not let people watch it at least on your website?
