Title: CD on sale at Best Buy
Post by: TheRaven on December 21, 2008, 09:28:29 PM
I didn't see this posted anywhere, but if anyone's interested in buying Chinese Democracy as a present, Best Buy has it on sale for $9.99.

Many 'new releases' sell for this price.

Why is it newsworthy that Chinese Democracy has been lowered to this?

I cleaned out the rack at my local Best Buy (bought the last 5 copies displayed as stocking stuffers). I'm sure they simply rolled out a fresh new batch as soon as I left... but damn did it feel good. :peace:

Everyone go stock up one more time before the Holidays hit!!!

Not sure. I also don't get the "knew this would happen" attitude. I see new releases coming out at $7, $8 and $9.99 every week. CD has been at $13.99 for weeks.

I've been thinking about buying Tropic Thunder on Blu Ray. It's been at $27.99 for weeks so I held off. I saw yesterday that the price is now $24.99. At no point did I think anything bad about the movie.

I just assumed it was on sale to move more units like everything else in America near Christmas.

This is USA though that the OP is talking about, i paid about a tenner in UK. $9.99 brings it to about ?6.70-ish which is pretty cheap for a new release.

I just bought a few more to give as gifts to some friends who aren't necessarily GNR fans.  I'm looking forward to hearing their take on it...but I'm sure they will enjoy it. :)

9.99 is common with Best Buy and their CD prices.  I picked up a copy for my uncle for christmas. Its pretty cool they moved the display over in the middle of the laptops and digital camera's were alot of people shop there besides TV's.

Upon its release, I bought the compact disc Chinese Democracy for $11.99 USD.  And with tax, it came out to $12.98.

But the long-playing vinyl has been at the same price every week.
