Title: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Irish gunner II on November 23, 2008, 02:48:59 PM The track order or listing is
1. Chinese Democracy 2. Shackler's Revenge 3. Better 4. Street of Dreams 5. If the World 6. There Was a Time 7. Catcher in the Rye 8. Scraped 9. Riad n' the Bedouins 10. Sorry 11. I.R.S. 12. Madagascar 13. This I Love 14. Prostitute I'm wondering if you had been given this track order before the album was out and asked to give your opinion on it, what would it have been ? I myself think that shacklers doesn't seem right as the second track on the album. It's a bit like the batting order in cricket. Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Mechanical-Worm on November 23, 2008, 02:50:41 PM No changes should be made, except one. Put I.R.S. before Sorry, not after it.
Four heavy hitters - Sorry Madagascar This I love Prostitute Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: AC on November 23, 2008, 02:52:15 PM When I first saw the tracklisting I was a bit confused, but not hearing it over a few times, the music and the lyrics make perfect sense the way it's set out. Love it! It does a great job of keeping me waiting for the next song, and the way Prostitute ends makes me want the next album SO bad!

Post by: sky dog on November 23, 2008, 02:53:57 PM Love the whole thing and how it is tracklisted but would do one thing.....would have left Shackler off the album. Fine for a video game, but I think the track is the weakest on the album and would rather have CD going straight in to Better. Oh well, just a petty grievance. :peace:

Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Moonlight J on November 23, 2008, 03:03:37 PM Only problem with Shackler's is that it's associated with a video game. It's grown on me pretty fast. The tracklist is obviously perfect, as it's arranged by the artist and fits the overall vision : ok:.
Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: give_it_a_rest on November 23, 2008, 03:03:58 PM I really like the flow--it's just right. It is more than perfect, but where is disc 2? :hihi: Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Dickeye on November 23, 2008, 03:04:45 PM When I first got it and played it with my friends we thought street of dreams, if the world, twat and catcher shouldn't have been near the start, but now after a weekend of listening I think it works.
I still keep thinking after This I Love ends the album is going to end, I think that would have been the perfect end to the album, not Prost, I'd change the order of those 2. Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: SLCPUNK on November 23, 2008, 03:18:36 PM Perfect-let it be.
Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: bazgnr on November 23, 2008, 03:20:51 PM 15+ years later, I'm pretty sure it's the way it should be.

Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: gilee7 on November 23, 2008, 05:03:47 PM I don't think "Street of Dreams," "If the World," "TWAT," and "CITR" should have come one after another. They're all great songs and they're all very different from one another, but when listening to the album straight through, I think they kill the momentum that the first three tracks have built. Those are four songs that are very deep, that you need to hear several times to fully digest, and I think they end up detracting from one another. It would have been nice if a solid, rocking track like "Scraped" or "Rhiad" had been placed in the middle of them, just to bring the mood back up.
Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Dr. Blutarsky on November 23, 2008, 05:06:23 PM I would not change one thing.
Kinda like asking Dali to do a few different brush strokes.on a painting. Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? hmm great name for a song "aint we getting sad" anyway come'on "change the track order" ?????????????????????????????????????????? what more do u want ? "lets put some money together for an advert in the paper so axl can read it and recall C.D and change the tracklist, then complain on an online forum ? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" nah. I still keep thinking after This I Love ends the album is going to end, I think that would have been the perfect end to the album, not Prost, I'd change the order of those 2. IF i had the power to change it, yes i agree with you and think it would be cool to have This I Love end the album. I would also move TWAT to after Shacklers as i think it would be a better transition into The Blues. With how hard Shacklers is and how soft The Blues beginning is, im finding it hard to really get into that part. By the way... no way leave Shacklers off the album. one of the best in my opinion. I would have had 'If the World' as a bonus track at the end, and replaced it with something different up-tempo. I would also have Riad and Scraped round the other way. Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Eclipsed107 on November 25, 2008, 03:24:50 PM Personally I don't like the track order... I don't think the first 4 songs flow very well, it gets better from there on... and really picks up at the end, but I can't get by the first 4 songs and how they just don't flow.
Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: GNR4L on November 25, 2008, 03:31:04 PM I like it, would change it at all.
Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Mama Kin on November 25, 2008, 03:34:16 PM I think "This I Love" should have closed the album, but that's just me.
Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: GNR4L on November 25, 2008, 03:38:33 PM I think "This I Love" should have closed the album, but that's just me. nah, I half to disagree. Prostitute has the outro synth that is perfect for the ending of a album. Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: reed2009 on November 25, 2008, 10:02:33 PM i think the album ends perfectly with this i love going into prostitute great way to end a great fucking album
Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Xtap on November 25, 2008, 10:06:56 PM Madagascar -> This I Love -> Prostitute is the perfect sequence to close the album.
The themes and ideas flow so perfectly. Prostitute being anywhere else but last wouldn't make sense, and would lessen its impact. Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: jarmo on November 26, 2008, 02:48:03 PM It's perfect.
Maybe as This I Love ends, you think that the album should end there, but then when you hear Prostitute and it makes sense to close the album with it..... /jarmo Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: King Axl on November 26, 2008, 07:31:21 PM Track listing is fine with me.
I don't really worry about how the 14 songs are listed on the record, what really makes me happy is having 14 NEW GUNS N' ROSES SONGS. Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: MrMojoRa on November 26, 2008, 07:58:14 PM The track order is perfect.
Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: gunns1 on November 26, 2008, 08:14:03 PM I thought This I Love would make a good ending,
how the last lyric, Axl says "Goodbye" but The synth outro in pro, is nice. Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Doc Emmett Brown on November 27, 2008, 12:14:52 AM The ending is perfect, it leaves me with a strong desire to replay it from the top.
The only minor change I made in my itunes playlist was to move Riad up to follow Shacker's. So I get my industrial fix and then move on to explore all the other styles on the record. Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Thorned Rose on November 27, 2008, 01:10:18 AM The album sequence is perfect for me. They have a nice flow of songs. Prostitute is a nice little outro/burnout song at the end.
The album keeps your interest all the way to the end, perfect. Love it! Title: Re: The track order on CD. Is is right or would you change it ? Post by: Drew on November 28, 2008, 09:22:26 AM I think the track order works as it is now just fine.
