"I first saw this on Chinese DEmocracy.com and have not really seen it on other boards. It is the best interview by any band member.Richard doesnt hold any question back. He talks about who is in the band. He talks about touring,Slash, and Axl. Here is the link. http://www.kshe95.com/ You have to login. Which you have to be a member. (easy and free) After that... Go to the museum section then find Favazz Files, and their you go." "Fortus worked with Brain, Freese, and Stinson previously. Flew to LA to audition all in one day while touring Europe in 2002. First time he met Axl, jammed and stayed up all night talking to him. A very loyal friend. Fortus is from St Louis, which is funny since they won't play in St Louis. Axl does not want to go to St Louis, and Axl wants nothing to do with SLPD. Fortus mentioned talking with Axl about a Free Tour of all the cities where GNR riots occured, as a way to make amends jokingly. He believes that Axl could get over that and play again in St Louis. Strange question for October...interviewer asks Fortus about CD coming out at the beginning of the year....Fortus corrects him saying that it IS COMING out next month. The interviewer still wasn't sure about Best Buy or WalMart deal FORTUS DOES SAY IT WILL ONLY BE AT BEST BUY FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS. He says November 25th is the release date Favazz believed the album would be all industrial. Fortus said none of the leaks were final mixes, except for SR on RB2. Fortus did not read Slash's book. He says no one in the band (Axl) liked the book tho, he heard. Favazz asks about the shows starting late, which is one reason why Slash left. Fortus says it takes Axl "time" to go on-stage which is why they go on late at times. Fortus thinks part of it was on purpose to get the crowd in a frenzy. Acception of the new members have been slow, but they are won over by show end. Mentioned as part of the crowd throwing things (Donnington). Slash is never forgotten - a genius - amazing. Some fans have accepted the new band, and some hate it. Different sounding band, but a kick ass band. members: Finck, Dizzy, Izzy occasionally, Tommy Stinson, Brain played on the record but Ferrer has been playing (former member with Fortus in Furs). Fortus tells Favazz that he is talking to Axl about playing St Louis. He does confirm touring in 2009. Title: Re: Robin is Still in according to Richard Post by: russtcb on November 20, 2008, 11:37:56 AM I hope Robin & Frank tour with GNR. Listened to this earlier today, good interview.
Title: Re: Robin is Still in according to Richard Post by: duasoul on November 20, 2008, 11:43:22 AM Great interview on Richard's part. He seemed very open and genuine, which is always nice.
I really hope Robin's still in, but this interview is from last month, so who knows now. :-\ Title: Re: Robin is Still in according to Richard Post by: LunsJail on November 20, 2008, 11:53:16 AM But you mentioned that this interview was conducted in October. Could it be that they still considered Robin on board then and things have changed recently? Based on the Myspace page and BF's comments it would appear that Robin is no longer part of the touring band.

Based on the Myspace page and BF's comments it would appear that Robin is no longer part of the touring band. As many have said, let's wait for something official. Ron confirmed what Del said months ago. I don't think anyone in the GnR camp was thinking Robin would go tour with NIN, but perhaps the plan is to wait until the NIN tour ends before hitting the road in support of CD. Ron was not quoted as saying Robin is out and I think the myspace update may just be a way to not confuse the casual fan. It is hard to list a member as someone that many casual fans will have seen touring with NIN lately. I still think there is a 50/50 or greater chance that when you hear the opening riff to Jungle live the next time it will be played by Robin Finck. Could it be that they still considered Robin on board then and things have changed recently? [/quote] I am not currently in the band either! What matters is who is in the band when the curtain drops as they go out to tour behind this record. With the record now out there for consumption, I think it would be a real shame if either Robin or Buckethead is not there. I would actually prefer to see Robin, since "Better" is my favorite and the solo in "This I Love" is just mind-melting, but I'll take Bucket. Their contributions to making this record what it is are amazing. Title: Re: Robin is Still in according to Richard Post by: IKnowWhereIAM on November 20, 2008, 02:42:00 PM yeah but he read it im still surprized. According to Baz, he is working on his own...since Axl/Slash have a Pro/Antagonist relationship in most everyones eyes, perhaps he wanted to see what the competition wrote, or be able to answer it in his book.On topic, I wonder if Richard suffering from the 'afraid to comment' bug that BBF seemed to have around the same time...it is pretty clear that Robin was out, even in October, although not 'official'. Pretty clear? Clear as mud. Official is the only thing that matters as we see with words like "tentative" and "soon." I was just saying that so people don't assume this interview was conducted a few days ago or something to that effect. I possibly might not have caught this, but what were Ron's comments? It would be a shame to have someone else play that solo. It is epic. Title: Re: Robin is Still in according to Richard Post by: Continental Drift on November 20, 2008, 03:47:02 PM I remember being shocked when Guns announced their line-up shortly before the New Year's show and RIR III in 2001 and Robin was once again on board. I strongly suspect that we will see the same thing happen again in 2009.
The NIN tour is finally winding down next month and drawing sparse crowds in some markets (despite being a great show by all accounts) to boot. There is a rumor that Trent himself feels like it's time for the band to get off the road. I have a haaaaaaaaaaard time believing that Finck (barring some kind of personal fall out with Axl) is going to want to hang out in Trent's studio (if he let's him in) while Chinese Democracy is unleashed on the masses. I think GN'R would love to have Finck back (again barring some kind of personal disagreement with Axl) for their tour as well. I'm cautiously optimistic. For a guy who's taken so much abuse from much of the GN'R community- he really deserves that moment in the sun in a live setting across the globe.
