Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I live in N.J. and called my favorite indenpendant record store to see if they'd have a midnight opening to sell CD. They told me they got it in today from their Canadian supplier due to the best buy deal and were selling. I rushed over and as of this post I am up to IRS listeining to it straight through. Axl sounds amazing on every track so far. Can't believe the adrenaline rush of finally having it in my hands!!!!!

I think most fans will do the right thing. I called a bunch of people and about 7 of us all met up at Vintage Vinyl and bought it.

can you describe IRS a little bit deeper? That's one of the songs I'm more curious about.

I will not listen ANYTHING until I got CD in my hands. I know I can do it at the MySpace, but I wont do that either.

That's what I plan on doing tommrow  although I am in Canada a couple of small indie stores are by where I work.  I think I'll try and grab it from there

I don't know if it's col to say but the guitars aren't as heavy as "other" versions I've heard, but it comes out sonding better. One pleasant surprise with the whole album is how amazing all the drum tracks sound.

I doubt these places will get in trouble. The album is all over the place now, all the radio jockeys have it, reviewers, the Best Buy orders arriving, etc. I just wish my damn Best Buy would fork it over already.   :nervous:

Hope not lol that place is great tho. I've been going there since I was a kid. They always have what you're looking for no matter how rare. Bought my 1st Izzy album there and I had Coma on my Live Era.

Listening to TWAT 2nd time through the album and I can't believe how amazing it sounds. Just noticed Axl's deep vocals under the chorous. Strings are fantastic. This song stands up to anything Axl has ever done period.

Your thread gave me an idea. So I called the only independant record store here in Vegas, and they have it. I went and got it. I now own Chinese Democracy :)

Nah, it's already being streamed by the band on MySpace and everything.  I think they let it go early to help stop the torrents and downloading.  Besides, people want to pay for an actual copy to read the credits, etc.  

BTW, heard of Vintage Vinyl.  Glad there are still stores like this around! ;D

I work in a record store here in Belgium.  We're under strict orders not to sell it until tomorrow (Friday 21st).

Picked up a copy today.
Pretty awesome. It was weird, it was just sitting there next to Appetite, the Illusions etc. without any posters, any promotion or anything. I swear, over here in Aus, if I didn't come on this site, I'd have no idea it was out or coming out. I haven't heard anything on the radio, haven't seen any posters or anything. Pretty poor considering what the album is.
Anyway, it's been fantastic listening to the thing, and going through the booklet. Pretty surreal to actually have it.

Here is my receipt from my purchase today the 20th of November, I thought it was amusing that at the bottom of the receipt they are advertising "Guns n Roses New Album Out 22 NOV" I guess we got lucky!

Went straight from JB Hi-Fi said they would not have it out till Saturday morning, even ask about late Friday night, was told they were under strict instructions to not put it out early.

Anyway for $7 who cares it's Chinese Democracy, would have paid double if I had too, now just gotta wait for my UK orders and SHM disc from Japan.  : ok:

High Fidelity Records & CDs will have it later this afternoon (what the guy on the phone said). They're located in Amityville in the Amity Mall Shopping Center (aparently under construction and currently without a sign  :hihi: ... but they've got CD so who cares)!!!

Futurshop will not sell it early.  A year ago they put out a CD early before release date I brought it to the till and the computer would not let her sell it to me.  Go to a indie store I would say that is you best bet. 

I also preordered from Canada Best Buy,  should be here son i guess.    im sure i can wait another couple days.

Moreover here in Poland ChD is very cheap for a premiere CD as it costs only 29.90 Polish Zlotys (which is about 10 $) and normally all the music companies release here newest CDs at about 60-70 PLN (around 20-24 $) So great move by Universal Music  8)

Just got my copy today in Spain at the "Corte Ingles", although it oficially goes on sale this saturday.....Lucky one fan working there heard me ask for cd and said "come here, it just arrived" :hihi: :hihi:

cd is a masterpiece. Loved specially TIL, Prostitute, Schackler's, Better, Catcher, TWAT, etc etc. Songs have changed quite a lot (prostitute hasn't much imho) since the leaks. The sound is amazing.

There is a mistake on the booklet, on the song better, there aren?t three phrases.

Look at the Better lyrics, after the phrase "won't ask for absolution".

Anyone know of a place selling it in south florida? Went to 2 FYE's, Spec's, and 2 Best Buys and couldnt snag a copy. People at Specs said everyone was coming in asking for it and they didn't even know what it was, morons. FYE said they won't have it until someone steals a bunch from a Best Buy truck. And the best buy guys said "sometime next week".  Ahhhhh!

Starting to wish I had gone the route of pre-ordering through Best Buy.  In the past when I pre-ordered, I didn't get my cd(s) until about 5 days after the street release date......go figure.   :-\

Actually the whisky in the bottle is a recently bought malt, Highland Park 18 years. The Crown Royal deluxe bottle is actually about 40 years old, from when my parents stayed in Canada. My mums brothers immagrated there and started familes years ago, my parents moved over for 5 years when they were a young couple, I think that bottle was bought when they left.

Yesterday I ran around Dublin pleading with over 15 record stores to sell me Chinese Democracy (as I was going to South America Friday morning @ 7am and would not get it having waited so long - a white lie never hurt anyone right??) Prior to getting it from an unnamed store, Tower records refused to sell it to me but played it in full in the store for me - pretty cool...so my first listen to CD was in Tower Records - not as i had imagined.

Well finally some guy out there took pity on the story in a different store and i have spent the last 12 hours listening to Chinese Democracy and loving it.

Bought from Sanity in Australia this afternoon Fri, 21st.

Asked them yesterday and they said they couldn't sell it until Saturday but today they had it playing in store and were pushing it out the door.

Just look for the dumbest looking broad at your local music store and try your luck. (getting the album).

My only problem w/ Chinese Democracy is 15 minutes later I want to hear it again!!

I got the shock of my life when I walked into my local record store earlier today and saw copies of Chinese Democracy stacked on the shelves (I thought it was going to be released in Australia on the 22nd).
 
It was an unbelievable feeling to finally have the chance to hand over my cash to obtain this masterpiece. Other than the magical sounds, the thing that gave me the greatest joy was seeing that Jarmo was thanked by Axl in the Thank Yous.

Went to the local "Mediamarkt" (sort of Best Buy) with my homey Ejay (both took the day off) and they didn't have it..... had to drive a little bit further to the city centre, took us an extra 30 min before we could buy it.

I'll say the same thing I said there:

Look INSIDE the album sleeves...I think album 2 is where it is.  It's a SMALL piece of paper, very easily missed (and probably easily lost when pulling out the albums).

Edit: destry might be right, too...could be exclusive to US...I'm not sure.

Just to clarify, I didn't get mine from Best Buy - I bought it instore at MediaMarkt in the Netherlands.

the slip for the FREE download is in one of the sleeves of the vinyl BUT I'm pretty sure that it says that it's a USA exclusive.

Took pics with my cell phone of the stands, shelves, cds...everything. People were looking at me like I was out of my mind!!

Just heard the album 3 times in a row...the first one I didnt even want to take a look at the booklet or anything...I just wanted the music to speak to me.

This is an absolutely phenomenal record. Too bad many people won't listen to it with an open mind.

I LOVE the entire album, but 'This I Love', 'Street Of Dreams', 'Catcher In The Rye' and 'Scraped' are amazing!!! The whole album is up there with Appetite and the Illusions lps in my opinion, but those songs I mentioned are even better than some songs on those older seminal albums.

Axl's voice is brilliant too, as is the guitaring. No Slash, but with riffs like this he's not really needed is he?

got mine (4 actually  :hihi:) ... anyhow it was fun, at 7:55AM they still didn't get it and I went to get some coffe for me and two guys working there and when I was back it was there :) ... I was the first one to get it :P ... heheh ... it was really, really funny as they were giving away posters and as I was driniking coffee they gave first poster to a girl buying CD, but they didn't look at what the poster was (as they just arrived) and gave her a poster of some folk or national singer  :rofl: ... so when they figured one of the run after the girl  :hihi:

PS. Some numbers: they have 200 CD's in shop in Zagreb, expect to sell 3.000 in Croatia which is 'huge' for Croatian market. Vinyl and maybe some fanpack editions are coming in 2 weeks app. Posters are just the cover and text, nothing special!

I think a lot of older GN'R fans listened to the originals on vinyl, and simply want to carry on that tradition, plus vinyl has a better sound for an album like this  : ok:

Bought the CD this morning. I gotta say that here in France, in Avignon where I live anyway, this release was a non event. When I got to 'la Fnac', a large record store and the only one downtown, CD wasn't even on the shelves--a guy handed me one from a box... If it wasn't for Myspace, I wouldn't have seen ads anywhere.

The "Chinese for Two" party at my place is almost set. On the menu we have a five-flavor veggie platter with tzatziki dip, six different cheeses from around Europe served with an assortment of crackers and the finest French fig jam, red grapes and an ice-cold bottle of Pommac.

Haha, cool!  ;D I bought some sparkling wine to celebrate the release, but I already drank most of it on Thursday, as it was when I listened to the album for the first time. :)

It looks like I have to wait until tomorrow.  No biggy, I'm used to waiting for cd.

I got an email telling me that I could pick it up tomorrow at Best Buy.  The funny part was that Best Buy felt it necessary to tell me NOT to come to the store any day prior to the 23rd.  

They must have been receiving calls or walk-in requests to have to make that a special note.  Prior to receiving that email I was thinking of going by there today and asking them if they could pull one out of the box they had in the back and just give me one.

Patience is the word of the day for me today.

Bought it today in Copenhagen. When I came into the recordstore the first thing I heard was TWAT. I stayed there for a 4-5 more songs. ;)

As a plus to the album, they were given a flag with the new logo, a poster (basically the same design) and a coupon for downloading free ringtones trought the mobiles.

I picked mine up @ 12:01AM at the HMV Superstore in downtown Toronto. I got the Fanpack (CD & T-Shirt) & a CD. There Vinyl order never arrived :(
I'll have to try to get the Vinyl when I go to the mall tomorrow.

What's the deal with the Parental Advisory Sticker.  I've seen it on some, not on some.  But as far as I know, there's only one version right?  There's no clean version, correct?

I bought the first two copies in the state of Vermont!! I know this cuz we only have one Best Buy and I was first in line and bought two!  There were like 4 other guys waiting including one poor guy that came by taxi and I offered him a ride home so he ended up buying a Vinyl copy as well as the CD with his taxi money he saved!  This feels sooooooo good!

I didn't think this day would ever come, but I now own Chinese Democracy!!! Now I'm going to sit back and just listen to the finished product. still can't believe this album seen the light of day.

I'm heading to best buy in an hour, I hope they still have it in stock.  I was at a party over my brother in law's house last nite and I was actually surprised how many people knew about CD coming out today that aren't really big GNR fans. Good sign. They knew about the free  Dr Pepper also. 

I just got back from Best Buy this morning with my copy of Chinese Democracy. It was only about a five minute drive from my apartment so I didn't have to drive as far as some of you do/did.  ;D

I didn't listen to the album last week on MySpace cause I wanted to listen to it fresh off my cd. I'll give it a few listens and let the songs digest before I post my review in the appropriate thread.   :)

Just got back from best buy with my 2 Vinyl copies and 3 CD copies.  Oh baby! 

I picked up mine at 9AM sharp. Best Buy managed to fuck up my preorder, though. They claim that preorders get cancelled after seven days, so they didn't have my copies set aside already. So I just grabbed three CD's and a vinyl from the display. Fucking idiots.

Just got back from the Bellingham WA Best Buy they had signs outside the store and everything !! I was the 2nd person in Bellingham to purchase Chinese Democracy. There was 2 people ahead of me, I did a instore pickup which was stupid on my part, cause they had alot of copies.  My friend bought me a copy cause he said IT WOULD NEVER COME OUT  :rofl:   I also got a Vinyl too !

I picked up 2 copies this morning at the best buy in Patchougue, New York. Right after i picked my copies there was a lady picking up two copies too : ok:

Very cool. I went to the Megatunes midnight sale in Calgary last night. There was about 20 people there and I got the packaging with the t-shirt. The shirt is actually pretty nice. They didn't have vinyl so i'll see if I can find it today or sometime in the future. The album is pretty damn good. Love the fact that there's sub bass on all the songs! haha.

There was no special promotion or anything regarding GN'R. No banners and no signs. Just a rack of cd's.

There were banners up front and a huge table full of cd's and records at my Best Buy in Bolingbrook, IL . They also had G'n'R playing over the PA. :beer:

The one I went to had a sign,and one of those stands just for Gn'R right in front when you walk in, but thats it.

I saw a nice big Sandwich board style sign when I walked in and then in front of the CD section they had a display with the CDs and the LPs on them. I am gonna try and track down a Best Buy employee to see if I can score that sign !

Went to Best Buy and they had a huge display right as you walk in... got 3 CD's and a vinyl!

BEST FUCKING DAY EVER.

Nothing special. Huge-ass fuckin' posters "THE WAIT IS OVER!!! Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy" hanging everywhere, the checkpoint dealy had CD promos, it was on the ticker of the tills and I had to search all over the place for the fuckin' cd and they didn't have the vinyl because it's not out until the 2nd in Canada, I guess. Also, no special with the Tshirt or anything and I went to HMV.

Besides myself, there was only one dude in a filthy Motley Crue hoodie buying the Guns CD.

The radio promoted the hell out of this album in town, I thought there would be something better for a launch.

There was about ten of us buying the album as soon as the doors opened. Big display as soon as you walked in. Nice signage too.
2 cds and a vinyl!

Hands were shaking. I grabbed 3 cd's 1 vinyl.

I was at Best Buy right at opening. The store was absolutely plastered with the album, stands and signs left and right, it was really surreal to see; people wearing grins on their faces, like an unspoken acknowledgment. I walked over, took my time choosing a copy, flipping the thing over back and forth. Motherfucking hell, Guns N' Roses' mythical album, right here in my hand. I think I was the second guy to purchase the album there.

Got outside smiling like an idiot, stood outside my car just kinda looking at the album in disbelief for a few minutes, and finally got in, got the shrink wrap off (got an amazing whiff of new album smell!), flipped through the liner notes, and finally popped it in, hand quivering: spent the next hour and quarter tank of gas on a very surreal drive painting my hometown, window down, volume up.

And that is how Chinese Democracy began.

Something that may never exist, and yet here we are.

My hands are still stiff from being glued to the steering wheel. It still hasn't quite registered that I have the album sitting in my lap right now. Eventually it will hit me, but it's still all a bit surreal right now. Hasn't really digested yet.

Hearing this thing on my car stereo proper was the devil's fucking balls.

And with that experience out of the way, I have only this to say to those who are not planning on experiencing this album:

Went inside. they had a huge cardboard stand packed with CDS and the Vinyls on top.

I noticed right away that a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE amount of Cd's were already gone.

I carefully selected which copy of CD was mine and then grabbed a vinyl off the top.

took it to the counter..... the dude at the counter said "Man, Everybody is buying this today. There has been over 100 people already before noon in here buying this. Then he asked me what the big deal was about it and I gave him a 2 minute cliff note version of why this CD is so popular and sought after. He said "Damn, all this craze over this makes me want to go buy a copy. *Dude was black by the way, not that it matters but he didn't look like someone who would be a GNR fan.

So his interest was peaked for sure.

also, I live in Chattanooga TN which isn't a huge place. and our best buy isn't in a super populated area, so if 100 already bought it before noon, I can't imagine how much this is gonna sell in huge cities.

I just got it. Surreal moment.. it is just so strange to see this cd sitting here on my desk!   Very happy that they did it though!!!!

I just finished my second full listen of Chinese Democracy on my home system and have never been so emotional over a piece of music in my life. And I'm not just saying that cause I'm just a Guns fan. The sound, the emotions, the personalities of each song are nothing short of brilliant. So well put together, like a million piece puzzle. Listening to this record gives me hope. Mark my words, this record will change the landscape of music.

I was the 1st person into Best Buy this morning (Trotwood, OH).  I was surprised that there wasn't a large display, just cd copies (no vinyl) of 'Chinese Democracy' on the end-cap of an isle.  The display was actually sharing space with another release (not sure who - didn't care) and they had a small pic of Axl on display too.

Some of their employees must have picked up some copies ahead of me, as there were quite a few already gone from the racks.

As I paid for my 3 cds, I mentioned the album to the cashier - he seemed to care less  :-[

Bought the CD and vinyl. I am debating whether to even open up the vinyl LP or leave it sealed since I have the CD anyway.

They had the big stand with CD's on 4 sides and LP's on the top. When I went to the cashier he said that must be a really good album since he saw 10 people just in his line buy it within the last hour. I told him there has been a long wait for it and yes it is really good, he didn't strike me as a GNR fan.

Listened to a few songs in my truck on the way home, much better than the leaks and better sound quality than the stream at myspace.

I'm leaving my record sealed.

I just got mine today (Best Buy, Fairless Hills, PA) When you walked in there was a stand just for CD with the cds stacked and the vinyls on top. There wasn't any additional merchandise unfortunately such as T-shirts, but I'll go back and look for some later. I am enjoying the cd right now, listening to There was a Time. It's great definately woth it.

I have a lot of classic vinyl ( Led Zep, Stones , Beatles, Pink Floyd ). Chinese Democracy seemed to just fit in that caliber. I hope more artists put out vinyl, the digital download with it was a great idea, though I got the CD anyway. I've always had a soft spot for LP's. Artwork is much more appealing on a larger scale. Some would argue vinyl is a superior quality compared to CD's. Warmer sound and a direct transfer of the music VS being digital or something along those lines.

I have somewhere around 200 vinyl albums

So I was going to pick up a new Record player anyway in January

Is it just me, or can Buckethead's sound be heard all over this album?  Obviously he was a big part of the album, but without reading who wrote what parts you can just hear bucket's sound everywhere.  I hear sounds from his Colma album all over this album in different parts.  When I first heard Bucket was in GNR way back when, I bought several of his albums, including Colma.  I remember thinking if Buckethead could duplicate that sound, and add it to Axl's lyrics and vocals, then this album would be magical.  Don't get me wrong, Fink is great, but I wonder what this album would have been without Buckethead.  It sure would be great to see him join the band again.  I am not too enthused about Bumblefoot, although, granted, I don't know a whole lot about him.   

Orgasm for the ears!  This is totally great.  I am holding the vinyl like its my baby.  Not to many people understand this!

I picked up the cd at Costco here in Saskatoon and I have ordered the vinyl from HMV but it doesn't come in until December 2 :rant:  I wish we had a Bestbuy here.  Oh well!  Awesome album.  It is funny to think that it was 6 yrs ago that my wife and I drove 1000 miles to see GnR in Vancouver and I am finally holding it in my hands.   : ok:

I feel very much the same way, like everyone who waited for so long and stuck with Axl deserves a pat on the back. After hearing it all the way through, I feel like the wait was worth it all and was not let down one bit. If I could talk to Uncle Axl, I would just say Thank you, you gave me something amazing. And yes, I had huge hopes for This I Love as I have been hearing about it since the mid-1990s, and it still blew me away, it's a worthy follow up to the likes of November Rain and Estranged. Truly an epic song and an instant classic.

I just bought two copies, one for myself of course, but more importantly one for my son.  He has "appropriated" every one of my cds and Guns n' Roses T-Shirts over the years.  His last Christmas present to me was a set of Gn'R drinking glasses.  So, since he is a U.S. Marine serving in Iraq, I thought if I send his off to him tomorrow he might be one of the first serving over there to get the new CD.  He'll get a kick out of that.

Sounds wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better on cd and on a good stereo system than the shitty Myspace stream on shitty speakers!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Shit!!! After listening to the CD quality on a good speaker system, it made the album about 100% better. Also, it sounded amazing driving around to the songs instead of hearing them with my nose buried in a computer screen. This shit was made to be played loud and in public.
Shackler's Revenge sounds much better, especially the drumming during the insane solo. It sounds so radio friendly and melodic, yet very dark and heavy. The tune has grown on me; it has an It's So Easy vibe with the catchiness of Sweet Child O Mine, I'm loving it and I really think it could be a hit. I think it could easily be the next single. Holy Shit, I have to go now and listen to the CD again and finish my beer.

When can we get some sales number for the Album? ???

Bought the CD today and wanted to put it onto my Windows Media Player library but I can't get the tracklist or any album info to come up. I had to write all the information in myself, including the album cover. Tried the 'Find Album Info..' control but nothing came up.

Anyone else encounter this problem?

It's weird because when I put the album in my PS3 to get the music onto the hard drive, all the info was there. Album title, song names. Didn't have to search for the info or anything, seems like it was there on disc.

cant believe im actually writing this but i have chinese democracy .this is so overwhelming and surreal .got mine from hmv queued up from 7am this morning best 2 hour wait ive ever had .thought id get through it okay until street of dreams come on (i still call it the blues) and all those years of hoping and praying poured out of me .it was the most emotional moment during any song ive ever had .thank you gnr for giving me my dream the wait was worth every second.

I also pre-ordered, and thought that I'll wait patiently for Monday, since it didn't come on Friday. NOTHING!!! I'm really angry. I thought there would be benefits for pre-ordering! Never Again!!!!

Damn finally, I have THE album!! After spending my weekend trying to persuade the music stores managers and ignorant employees to sell me the album earlier, I have finally bought it.
I went to the store at like 2pm, I tried to find it and it wasn't anywhere to be seen... no billboards, no ads.. nothing... I went to the most recent albums section.. nothing... Finally, I tried the hard rock section, searched for Guns N' Roses and there it was... ONE single copy of Chinese Democracy, just above the UYI 1... yes one copy you heard it right...
I just grabbed it with relief, searched the merch section  hastily and obviously no flags, no banners, no t-shirts pins whatsoever were to be seen...
As I left the store, the sun went away and it started raining like hell...I just thought "fuck that, I got the damn album!" and started laughing like an idiot  ;D).

Interesting, the only thing that they told me was that they didn't get their shipment.

The postman reckons the package was too big to post so he's sent it back to the depot, I had to go round to Asda to buy a second copy!

After nine years ... NINE YEARS... of waiting, I am at last the proud owner of Chinese Democracy on CD and Vinyl.

I got mine at HMV Oxford street this morning, around 8.45. The shop was quite empty at that hour, but a couple of other folks were milling aorund with their copies of 'Chinese'. There was a brief moemnt of giddiness when I left the shop as I thought to myself ...'wow, I finally got it, I finally bloody got it'.

Then I regained my composure long enough to get something to eat, and then set out to find a quiet place to listen to it on my CD walkman. It isn't easy to find such a place in Central London, but i settled on a spot near a stream in St James Park.

For the next 70 minutes, the rest of the world melted away. I was in a a semi meditative state, soaking up every riff, lick, beat and scream on Axl's new opus, as I watched the black swans drift by and the cold november wind battered my face. As the coda of 'Prostitute' faded out, I felt a tremendous feeling of peace as the stream babbled on and the trees cast long shadows in the Autumn sun. In fact, the experience was all all a bit like Herman Herman Hesse's 'Siddharta', (except of course there were no CD players in Ancient India).

yea, i was told at first that they didn't receive their shipment, and then I called today and got fed the 2 december bullshit line....  not sure where that date came from, or if they're just making it up, or what, but at any rate it would be nice to get some sort of confirmation from the band or label about this.

Anyone else have problems uploading the cd onto itunes? It took me two attempts and none of the data such as artist/song name dont appear. Ive had had to input the names ect manually, actually more a pleasurable than you think ;D

I had trouble too but not with the data.  For me, the songs didn't download in the tracklisting order like on the album so I had to re-arrange them into the correct order in the playlist.  Plus, since I pre-ordered the album, iTunes gave me CD (single) for FREE but I can't figure out how to get the playlist with the rest of the album to let me add the song so the iPod recognizes it as part of the album. When I look at the playlist on my computer, they're all in the same playlist but when it uploads to the iPod, it seperates them again.  I think it has something to do with that they were 'purchased' on different days.  :-\

I put the CD in... and my computer doesn't have any autostart programs.  In fact, it doesn't even recognize it as "chinese democracy."  Just "unknown album." 

Is it just my computer or is there really no computer data on the disk?  If there isn't any, what reason do you think that could be?

I got the same thing when I wanted to rip the album for my mp3 player. Odd, as even old cd's have data on them, but anyway it may be some sort of protection. It's not important, though :peace:

Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. I said, "It's been released world-wide today", they said "sometimes we have different release dates." I thought it was just a line of BS, but if other Canadians, in far larger cities than mine can't find it, I guess it's true.

Not sure why'd they change it. Unless there was a deal with the record company who was pressing them. I assume the vinyl gets pressed in Canada....for the Canadian release. ???

I bought my copy! All this years of waiting and finally in my hands. Can't believe it. The disk is awesome!  :beer:

I think those having trouble might need to download the most current version of itunes.  I haven't had any trouble, but I did make sure I got the latest version a couple of days ago.

On a side note, I'm proud of the way itunes it pushing the album.  I got an e-mail from them this morning that featured the album.  When I opened the wheat logo was huge in the e-mail.  Below that in much tinier displays were Kanye and The Killers.  Kanye and The Killers are selling their album today for $4.99 while CD is still the full price of $9.99.  I think the other artists are feeling the heat of the success of CD.

My 1 friend got it 2ed day it came out we listened to it its Better than any of the other GNR albums except Appitite but it blew my mind  :drool:

I have only heard 50% of the record and aside from This I Love, the other 7 songs were well-publicized before the past couple of months (Street of Dreams, TWAT, RATB. etc.). From how everything sounds, I may be buying more copies to hand out for Chanukah and Thanksgiving!!!!

I spoke to the register lady at Best Buy in Columbus Circle in NYC and she told me that GNR and Kenya West are the two best sellers right now.
A GNR album debut in the Billboard Top 5 is very likely at this point. I look foward to hearing the rest of it and making a review for it like the rest of you.

Bought a few copies on Sunday, but I think I'm going to go get a few more this weekend to give to some friends to help bump up the numbers.

I popped my copy on my computer and Windows media player automatically stated ripping it, all the info was there. I had no trouble. The only odd thing was that all songs' titles were in caps except one, Street of dreams....So could you be using an old version of windows media player? Ah the only thing I can't get tho, is the photo of the album, but songs' info is there...

I just bought Chinese Democracy. Two copies in fact. One is for my mother lol.

It sounds much better on my stereo than online. Get to hear all the instruments more clearly now. I'll probably listen to it a few more times and then give my offical review.

Going out tomorrow to get my Christmas load of copies. Somewhere between 10-15. Are CD's cheaper on Black Friday? If so I might grab them tonight instead.

I don't think the price for the album will be any different. It should be at regular price still.

Mine were 12.99 each, so about the same price.
