Their shipping departments probably knew about the anticipation involved...and were worried that the albums wouldn't be shipped on time (also...there is no postal service delivery on Sundays in the US)...so they probably had it shipped out earlier to not disappoint anybody.

I think we all knew this was going to happen. It's a bit of a "thank you" from the band I guess. Really, I was almost expecting to see it on shelves at lunch today. What does a release date really mean when half the radio industry and media have a copy of it anyway. May as well release it before people start putting it on the Internet.

Only the Credits from what I can find.  No inserts inside the LP itself, and the paper sleeves are plain white with no writing or anything on them.

The CD booklet does have all the lyrics.  Some of the songs don't have ALL of the lyrics, such as CD and Catcher (at least there was a missing line in Catcher, I believe) I will pay closer attention another time :hihi:

To say I'm jealous is an understatement.  I had my pre-orders sent to the store, because I NEVER thought it would arrive before Sunday.  In fact, I was worried about it arriving later.  Sigh.

Still, I just ordered another copy online in hopes it gets here sooner.  It shipped today, but I doubt I'll get that lucky....regardless, congratulations to the lucky ones!!

I have the CD too, and the booklet.  The lyrics are in that booklet.  Like I said, some of the lyrics are a little messed up.

hey.  i did in store pickup also.  if i read correctly, best buy will send us another email confirming the arrival of our order.  we need to bring that email along with the first email they sent to us to pick up.  when do you think this email will come?

I'm going to go get it on my break at work (I'm the Electronics manger at Target and Best Buy is in the same parking lot) and this way I can just walk in, get my stuff and walk out without having to take the time to wait in line and whatnot.

I didn't want it shipped to me considering the release was a Sunday and there's no mail on Sunday and the last time I ordered Vinyl through mail it came cracked.

Freaking Best Buy hasn't even shipped my pre-order yet and they told me that it might not be here until the 27th.

Awesome pictures LittleFly! New vinyl always looks so beautiful before the first ever play. I love the smell and feel, there are still fine burrs of plastic brushing off from when the grooves were cut out at the pressing factory  :love: I used to dj and have about 2000 records in storage, I really should sell them on but I'm just too attached to them.

I'm going to be unearthing one of my classic Technics 1210's for the first big official Chinese Democracy experience at home.

I'm gutted about the errors in the booklet, really poor show  :no:  How hard is it to proof read the first copy before printing millions of them?

To me, that's a moot point.   I'm going there with my order # and first e-mail when the store opens.  If they don't have my copies put aside, I'm assuming I can grab two off the shelf.   I am NOT waiting around for that second e-mail on Sunday.    :beer:

My Best Buy has horrendous register service, and I despise trying to get through their check outs.  This way, my order is paid for, I go to customer service, get my CDs and leave.  It wouldn't surprise me for them to be sold out, either.   Many times I've driven 40 minutes to the store assuming they would have a copy of a new release, only to find out they only got x amount of copies and sold them all. 

Okay, couple questions for LittleFly, Gypsy Soul, and anyone else who got the goods.  You got the e-mail that your package had been sent yesterday right?  So it took just ONE day since then?  LittleFly, is in RI I know.  How about the others?  East coast as well?  I'm in CT, that's why I'm asking.  I got my e-mail today, so if things stay true to form, I should be getting it tomorrow.  Although I ordered the vinyl (for collection purposes) and don't have a record player.  Should've added a CD to the list.  DAMN! 

One more thing.  Did you get a coupon for the free download with the vinyl?  Wasn't that supposed to be part of the deal?

I can think of a few reasons:

1) Free single

2) "Front of the line" access at the listening parties

3) Knowing you'll have a copy waiting for you, just in case

Seriously, you're upset because a few people got it early? It's not like Best Buy is saying "You'll get it next month." You're still going to get it on the release date (if you're picking it up at the store), or possibly sooner/later if it's being mailed to you. That's the risk of having a pre-order mailed to you, sometimes you get it sooner and other times you get it much later (especially when a product is in high demand). There's no sense getting bent out of shape about it.

Admittedly, probably on my side, too.  But I'll try to hold off until I get to my car, tear it open, and pop it in.

I'll admit that I welled up a bit at the listening party in NYC.  I saw some others do the same.  Not tears...but certainly some water in the eyes.

My tracking info still isn't showing up for some reason.  I've now pre-ordered 3 separate times.  2 say they've been shipped, but I click on the tracking number and it gives me some message that the tracking info is not currently available.  I don't know what the reasoning behind that is.  If it indeed HAS been shipped, they should be able to track it, I would think.  Well, I won't sweat it.  The earliest one is going to a friend, so that one has no bearing on me.  My pre-order from last night was for the LP and I don't own a record player so that won't do me much good as far as listening to it.  I tried one last time tonight for a CD in the off chance that they'll rush delivery, ship it out tomorrow, and it'll arrive by Friday.  Wishful thinking, worth a shot though.  Worse comes to worse, I wait till Sunday to purchase it at the store.  That was the original plan anyway.  Anything more than that would just be gravy.

The reason I ask is because I notice my order, which is bigger, is being shipped 100% UPS.  My friends pre-order, who is only buying one CD, was shipping via UPS to a United States Post Office sorting facility, and will then by mailed from there.  I wonder if this has anything to do with people getting there stuff early??

Mine was the same way until just a few moments ago.  It finally showed up on the UPS tracker. 

Also I don't really understand the moaning and complaining of some here about people recieving theirs early.  It's not like you aren't getting it.  What's a few more days til the actual release date when most of us have been waiting since SI came out.

Yup, I ordered 2 LPs and 1 CD.  It was originally for all of the covers in Vinyl and 1 Cover "A" CD.  It was whittled down to the 2 LPs and 1 CD as we got closer to the release dates because the other 2 covers were cancelled on their end.

Maybe that does have something to do with it?

They were mailed yesterday from the Best Buy orders as per the confirmation I got with the USPS info.  Just depends on how long your mail takes.

UPS is like the slowest package delivery service on the planet, the actual mail is much faster.

Yeah I just checked and the details showed up for my first order.  They don't make much sense though, at least geographically.  The CD is going to New Windsor, NY.  It was shipped from Paulsboro, NJ and now it's in Windsor, CT.  Maybe the UPS driver got lost?  I'm no geography expert but I'm pretty sure he overshot his destination.

Yeah, that happened AFTER I pre-ordered.  I ordered on that first day when there were 3 different (undisclosed) covers. The same day, they suspended pre-orders.  A few days later, they started the pre-ordering again, with fewer covers (I think).  

I can't remember when the free download thing happened, but I do remember people saying that existing pre-orders would have to be cancelled and reordered to allow that.

All told, I'm glad I didn't do that :hihi:

If that's the case, then I have no idea how to claim my free digital copy :hihi:  And knowing Best Buy, I probably have to claim it by the end of the day that I get the order.....they're good like that  ::)

Sell this beautiful beast to us now. It is just good goddamn business at this point. Once an album leaks, they begin to lose many sales by the day. Selling it to us now is just good business.

Not that I could find.  I'm not opening the other one, that one's staying sealed.  But the one I opened did not have any inserts in it.  I'll review the inside and back closer to make sure, but I also did not see any instructions printed on the sleeve itself, either.

Okay, that's what I figured.  Congrats by the way LittleFly!  You must be so psyched, and we're all psyched for you, and all others who have had the fortune of getting CD in their hands.  Well, maybe not EVERYONE is psyched.  I've read some posts from people who are angry.  Easy people.  The album is on myspace now if you want to listen to it.  It'll be streamed on a few radio stations Friday at midnight.  It'll be available for ALL on Sunday.  And apparently some people are having luck calling independent record stores.  This is a GREAT TIME people.  Let's rejoice!

I would assume iTunes, could also be Napster too, since they're affiliated with Best Buy.  I'd guess you could use either.  I think that was the case with the free download, for which I used Napster.

Gah, I'm confused now.  Both albums DO have stickers on them (or at least one still does, but I checked the wrapping on the other one too) that say "Includes Bonus Download of Entire Album on Ipod Compatible, Open MP3"

How in the hell to GET the download, I'm still lost.  Remember though, this is the FIRST new vinyl that I've EVER purchased, so I'm an idiotic noob at the moment :)
