I pre-ordered ages ago and now they are advertising that you get a free 7" if you pre-order!! I better get mine goddammit!
Also, FYI my copy has been shipped, acccording to the email i got last night, so i think im getting it early! Whoop! Anyone else had their shipped early from HMV?

Yeah, me too.  The CD was shipped yesterday but the vinyl is still on order.

You do get the 7" delivered with the album. They send these things in boxes rather than jiffy bags so you might have to go through the trauma of opening your door to the postman for your CD.

I recieved an email saying mine had been shipped but it didn't mention the 7" single. HMV told me a few days ago that I will recieve the single with the CD but it wasn't on my docket.

Was it mentioned on yours or anyone else's here?

On all the pre-orders Ive ever had with hmv (Inlcuding lots of games, dvd's and 2 cd's) Ive got them all early so far so (touch wood) we should get this early too.

I am still waiting for my vinyl to ship though

i emailed HMV the other day and they told me that the 7" would be shipped seperately, but i think its anyones guess.
there was no mention of the the 7" in my order so i eamailed them to clarify.

i think they would ship it separately but i think we are just going to have to assume it will turn up

I ordered from HMV but my Item status is listed as 'Item to be ordered from supplier'  :( That doesn't look good for delivery before/on Monday.

was it the cd you ordered? strange maybe hmv have already shipped their entire allocation of the cd?

Yes the cd version, I may cancel and buy in store if the status does not change by tomorrow as I often find HMV deliveries are very slow to arrive.

thats if the stores will have them i mean this is a huge album and my guess is most larger shops will sell out their release day allocations

Do you reckon this will sell out? I'm not sure the demand will be huge for this. Take That and The Killers are currently above CD in the HMV pre-order chart and I doubt they will be sell out albums.

Yeah I also ordered mine from HMV, and it was sent out yesterday afternoon, so I hope I get it before the weekend. They said it'll take between 2-5 days to get here.

If it's been dispatched and you got the e-mail, you should be fine. If you didn't get an e-mail, then worry!!

They would have been here today going by HMV's normal delivery times. They might have... instructed Royal Mail not to deliver... before... Monday  :nervous:

No I spoke to customer service and they said it will arrive anytime from Monday onwards to a maximum of 5 days later. I hope that's not true.

they say should arrive on the day of release, but every other pre-order has arrived a day or 2 before. this is the most important pre-order of my entire fucking life and I WANT IT NOW  :rant: :rant: especially when i got an email on tue saying fully dispatched and its now fucking friday

This is exactly why I'm loath to pre-order albums I want on the day of release! Plus you can't beat the feeling of reading the booklet on the bus or train home ready to play the album. ;)

So are you definately getting the 7" vinyl single if you buy the CD version of Chinese Democracy? When I looked at the site the impression I got was it was only if you bought the vinyl LP version.

Hey can anyone that received the single confirm whether it was stated in your email shipping confirmation from HMV that you would receive the single?

At the time I ordered it they were advertising the free single but they aren't anymore.

As well when I look at my shipping confirmation email it only describes a cd that has shipped.

Mine arrived today, but I was out and had to spend the next hour driving the streets looking for the postman, found him eventually and got my CD. Wife thought it was all very sad, but Ive been waiting 15 chuffin years and no way was I waiting any longer.

Well I'm absolutely gutted!
I took thurs, fri and this morning off work in the vain hope it would come.. Ordered 3 copies too, HMV, Play and CDWOW..
Annoying thing is have to work Monday now so won't be able to pick it up till Tuesday lunch!!

I might have gotten a 7" single. The package didn't fit through my letterbox supposedly, so it's in the Post depot. Hopefully I did!

Got mine today! Ordered it when it was first released as a pre-order.

Love the 7" - beautiful artwork. - Another typo found tho! LOL - on the back page where it says all of the copyrights etc.. it reads "MAGE in the EU" haha - the studio should sack the design/copy team!!   :rofl: - all good tho, great to have the disc in hand.

My Vinyl was shipped today!

My copy with 7" single finally arrived yesterday, collected from the delivery office this morning and will listen to the album for the first time tonight  :beer:

Mine arrived on Saturday - it didn't fit through the letterbox so the postie just left it on the doorstep. I was out all day so it got all cold and lonely  :(

I've thrown the box away but I don't want to peel the sticker off the front of the CD cos I kind of like my name on the same sticker as Chinese Democracy - it feels like my own personalised version.

Well, I didn't pre-order the cd, just the vinyl version.  Haven't received it yet, but then it was only shipped on Monday.  Very nervous about getting it and not having the 7 inch single.

I haven't got my vinyl yet. what's the point of pre-ordering if you get it 3-4 days quicker by walking to the bloody shop!

I would have very happily got it at my local HMV but for the fact they didn't have any vinyl instore, just the cd.

Got my Single today along with my 3rd copy of CD. Also have the Itunes album and I'm waiting on my special edition with the shirt n shit. I got 2 of those. And then my LP should show up too, so by the end of the year I'll have 7 copies of CD.  :hihi:

I preordered last friday but when I found out there was a possibility it might not come with the 7" single I emailed to find out.

I was told I will not be receiving the single so I'm returning the fucking thing. There was nothing on the site at the time I ordered it to lead me to believe the single was limited. I already got 2 copies of the cd in Canada and an LP is on order so the only reason I did this was for the single.

Fuckin sucks.

The 7" is all over EBay, I just framed mine personally, since I didn't really wanna part with it but had no practical use for it. Just got a frame and stuck it in there with an old GNR tour poster from 2001s cancelled dates. Looks nice.

Finally got mine. Very nice it is too.

my vinyl (album) was shipped on Monday but still has not come but when my cd was shipped last Monday i had it by the Thursday :(

I didn't get to order the Vinyl with the single in time so I cancelled my order. Hope I can pick up a copy from eBay sometime or if it turns up anywhere else..

They may have run out of the singles.  When I ordered it did say there was a limited edition 7"

Not only did it say that it was a limited edition but also that it was for pre-orders only. You have a valid case for having placed a pre-order on Friday if the deal was still showing on the page, but HMV probably didn't see it that way what with them dispatching the pre-orders the Tuesday before release.

Yea it was still advertised when I preordered it and your avatar pic (from HMV's site) is the one that showed up on my receipt so I figured I would get the single.

I did see "Limited Edition" but I did not see anything to say that only the first 1000. I didn't see HOW limited. Sometimes Limited Edition is just marketing you know? Like "limited" to HMV UK is how I took it.

I think they were sneaky. I only justified the shipping/conversion rate of $30 CDN ( I bought it for $15 at the store) for the single and now to refund it they won't refund the shipping cost and I have to pay to ship it back to them because it is an "unwanted item"!

It wouldn't be unwanted if it was what they were advertising!

Finally got my vinyl today and it came with the single as well so well worth the wait  :peace:

my vinyl came today as well, took long enough its great, was not expecting it to be on 4 sides though (bonus in my eyes  : ok: )
