Best Buy hosted the ?Chinese Democracy? listening event in New York City?s East Village last night. Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal was one of the guests at a packed Webster Hall, and so was GnrDaily's NYC correspondent Sanna. The anxiously waiting crowd (of whom some stood in line for a couple of hours in the chilly New York evening) got a bonus last night, as a cheerful Bumblefoot welcomed his home audience to the listening event in a humorous manner: ?Let me just talk to you like a local guy to a bunch of downloading, song-stealing, demo-hating little fuckers. Thank you guys so much. It?s been a hell of a journey, and you?ve been there the whole way. I can?t thank you enough. Now I?ll just shut the hell up and we?ll play the shit?. Before the first tones of the title track hit the venue, Bumblefoot felt compelled to ask the crowd one last question: ?Do you know where the fuck you are?? Shortly after having kickstarted the event, Bumblefoot (who himself is a GnrDaily reader) had time for a quick chat, where he revealed that he has recorded a video message to all GnrDaily visitors. Not only is he one of the best guitar players on the planet, who is comfortable sharing the stage with other great guitarists...He's been in the industry for years, GnR for two, and is still just 'Ronnie from the block'. :hihi:
