G2R are great if anyone hasn't seen them yet. I saw them in Liverpool a few years ago (the first time they played Mathew St), and enjoyed a beer or 2 with 'Axl' in the Crown later that night. I was shitfaced at night, but I was sober when they played and they put on a good show :)

Just got off the phone with a member of staff at Madame Jo Jo's who, in response to my question whether or not CD would be played, said in a rather shocked voice, "Er, how did you know?"  Apparently, it's not been confirmed and is all supposed to be hush hush at the moment.  They're expecting to have confirmation later this afternoon.  If you want to get tickets from Ticketweb, act quickly because he said they've jumped the gun in selling them so early.

It is real dude. G2R are already huge and don't need to blag fans to shows with such underhanded tactics.
This was only confirmed last night.

If it helps it is well documented that G2R have always supported Chinese Democracy and New GNR.
The singer was even vip on the GNR 2006 tour and has had numerous relations with Axl and other members of GNR for years.
I'm pretty sure this is 100% official

It's so sad see growned people dressed as Axl or Slash.

Can you just play the music?

They're actors dude. They celebrate GNR and have been keeping the GNR memory alive for years as a result have gained the respect of members of GNR and are famous in their own right for doing so.

If it bothers you that much, when you go there just shut your eyes.

Unlike many other parties, you have to pay to get in. And it's still a concert with the album as a bonus....

Sincerely I don't care they're famous in what they do. Britney Spears is famous in what she do and is, maybe, the worst thing in Earth (musically speaking).

I don't need to shut my eyes because I wouldn't never go at some party like this, I hate tribute bands...although, this isn't a tribute band this is a "want-to-be-like" band

But I don't get surprised anymore with this parties and tributes band and all that stuff, since Dizzy are playing here in Argentina this weekend with a band WHICH PLAYS VELVET REVOLVER'S SONGS, I don't get surprised for anything...

Yes unfortunately thats right however this was a concert and a club event with the door charge prior to Guns 2 Roses and Chinese Democracy even being booked.
There are 3 other bands & strippers playing also.
G2'R kinda invaded the event 2 weeks ago in order to get more promotion for Chinese Democracy in London. It was not our decision to charge for the event.
Originally we were going to perform a selection of the new tracks with the classics thrown in but with the album now being previewed that makes it even better for the fans.

That kinda sucks.

I'm glad fans have the chance to hear it legally before the release and share the experience with other fans.

I'm just a bit curious about why the album doesn't deserve its own party in a place like London... You know, where it's the main act so to speak.

But still, I guess this is better than nothing.

Tell me about it dude. I will be doing my bit prior to the release though. I have various radio interviews tomorrow with the BBC and a few other London & Manchester ones. I'll be bigging the album up and will be mentioning HTGTH on the work you've all done to keep everyone updated on goings on and how we've all stayed loyal to the album thoughout years.

Also to the people who mailed me as to why G2R didn't get the Zavvi's launch gig it was merely down to the fact we resembled classic GNR too much.

I have been asked by the band performing however to performed on one of their 3 slots that day.
I cannot confirm just yet though as i will have 4 shows of my own prior to this and it does take its toll.
As far as i'm aware the Madame Jo Jo's show is now the only official Chinese Democracy related event. I've been told the Zavvi's thing is just a hired in band as a gimmic by the store throughout Monday daytime.

No no Jarmo, this is a different thing.

I mean...ok...he have a band tribute but GIVING INTERVIEWS?

That's why I'm asking...who's he? He's just the guy who pretend be Axl or he's something else (i,e. the organizer of the event or something like that)

I was wondering that too but having just checked my order status at HMV and found that it says that it's shipped, it looks like I may be able to hear it before the end of the week anyway.

Aside from being the singer in Guns 2 Roses?
I am the former frontman for the 2006 lineup of Adler's Appetite and I was Vip on the GNR 2006 UK tour.

I also work in promotion and entertainment as an actor and its no secret in London that i've had interactions with GNR members for many years which if you went on our site you would know by now. Guns 2 Roses are known for being the only approved GNR tribute in the world. For some of the media the band is seen as a promotional tool for GNR. Something that keep the music & memory alive. They want to interview us to find out our thoughts on the new release.

I don't know why your so bothered dude all i'm doing is helping to promote the album. Anyone would think your jealous

Kinda what I was thinking too. I'll probably end up going, but (and no disrespect to the G2R guys) I'd much rather it was only a Chinese Democracy party. I can't understand why London doesn't deserve a proper listening party

Me? Jealous? I'm on the fourth year on law school...believe me, i'm not jealous AT ALL. I want another thing for my life  ;) . Once again, thanks for answer my question. Enough with the off-topics.

That's no good.

I was thinking of coming along but i'm not really interested in the bands (apart from guns2roses who i like) and if they aint plaing CD in one go it kinda feels like i'm been tricked into staiyng and watching a bunch of bands i dont care about.

Shame there is no proper listening party, the UK is a big seller for GN'R, lots of fans here... i would have thought something great would've been planned.

Good work on promoting the album Gav!

No we are not. We were originally Perfect Crime and became Guns 2 Roses in 2004.

Last band / Guns 2 Roses should finshed just prior to midnight.

I'll be going, probably the best people to see playing the gnr classics, and should be an excellent atmosphere.  Even if the album is being played in parts, better way to pass the time between bands than some boring old pop rubbish.  Can't wait!

Really wanted to come to this anyway cause Paradise City is a great clubnight and we had a blast playing there in December.  Still gonna try and get there but looks unliley.

For the guys asking about the band that was formerly called 'Bad Obsession' that band is now called 'UK Guns N Roses'

I think it's a real shame that there isn't a seperate listening party, but this should still be a great night full of real rock fans ready to party and enjoy!

Hey guys wild night last night. Anyone from here that was there saw our set cut short due to Slash and vodka mixing too much. Still hope everyone enjoyed the album, other bands and the rougly 10 songs we did.

Heres a pic i took of some of the free promo merch last night before the show...

Engraved Zippo Lighters
Chinese Democracy 7" vinyl (one of these i ended up giving to the winner of the Chinese Democracy Air Guitar comp on Youtube James Reay.
Chinese Democracy poker chip
