Guns N? Roses premiered a new commercial teaser for Chinese Democracy during Saturday Night Live over the weekend. The 30 spot features the recently released title track and information about the album pre-sale. The teaser will run again tonight during Monday Night Football which airs on ESPN at 815PM EST.

I'd say it's both.

I've seen the Canadian version through a lot of hockey games now. It's on 2-3 times a game. Our version is much shorter though than the U.S. one.

Great time slot, great demographic.  I fully expect to see CD ads on various networks tommorow doing the election coverage also.

That blasted "saved by zeros" commercial is driving me crazy.... Everyone probably changes the station when that comes on  :confused:

Yah, its intresting to see what markets hes targeting.  Its like being a democrat in a red state and wanting to see obama ads or vice versa for red states.  So what color do we call the states that are GNR ad targets? 

I predict there will be a national buy for the CD commercial doing half time.  The canidates are both being interviewed.  What a good time to promote anything having to do with democracy.

Even it is a nationally televised game it does not mean all commercials will be nationwide....they may just choose to show it in certain markets....didnt some not see the commerical on SNL?

I haven't seen it in Connecticut yet.  There've been a lot of local spots that I fear may have trumped the commercial.  It's getting late on the east coast, not sure they'd show it at this hour.  Still holding out hope though.

Just saw it here in Phoenix! I'm guessing that the rest of the markets will see it by the end of the game, too. As an FYI, the commercial didn't air during SNL here, but it did for tonight's MNF game.

Didn't see it in St. Louis but I was gone for a little while in the first half.  Lots of political commercials, they may not have been able to get time. 

This game is over but it was pretty good up to this point.

It has to do with the Redskins (if I recall). Every year the Redskins lose before a Presidential election, the Republican nominee winds up losing.

i think many people who saw the commercial on either snl or mnf and didnt really expect it were prob pretty shocked and thats fucking awesome. i would say a majority of the people out there, if there not fans already know the name Guns N' Roses and the commercials prob caught their eye in some kind of eerie way!! im just so excited for this album and the build up to it!

Because if the Redskins win their last game before the Election, apparently the incumbent party has always won.  Therefore they lost so Republicans lose...... 

I saw the ad last night after Boomer talked to McCain.  I was in a bar, it kind of got drowned out.  Still great to see it on tv.

This is what I never understood about local spots.... GNR pays alot of money for this thing but time warner is gonna just cover it up?!?! Its a national spot, how is it not on all channels at the same time?

No it wasn't...the streak is that if the Redskins win the incumbent party wins, in the closest game to the election. 

Therefore Redskins and Bush won. 

It has happened for the last 17 elections, and looks like it will probably be 18 for 18.

And I'm saying in 2004 the Redskins lost while Bush won.  Therefore the streak ended.

You know what, you're right.  The Redskins lost 28-14 to the Packers on October 31, 2004 at FedEx Field.  And the election was held on November 2, 2004.  How come everyone I've heard mention this has said it's happened 17 straight times?  Am I missing something?

I wonder if we will get another ad in tonights game?  Since the ad didn't make it all the way to the west coast (didn't air in Portland, Seattle, and multiple other west coast cities, maybe it will tonight?
