Just an FYI, both of those are online only items(at least at best buy), so if you plan on getting them, you will have to order them.

Well before ordering it they should post some kind of detailed description about the item lol.

Could this be the re-recorded AFD with Patience and YCBM?  Or just the old AFD with original artwork on case?

Interesting.  Not sure how much difference an SHM cd would make to AFD to be honest, I've never heard of it and don't own one that I know of.  I've got a ltd ed Solitude Aeturnus cd on a 'gold' cd and I can detect the high quality in that, is this something similar?

I can't see full rereleases with bonus material happening without the consent of all past band members.  But I suppose if the Greatest Hits tells us anything it's that it doesn't matter, eh?

AFD is cemented in history as one of the best albums of all time... that's not going to change anytime soon, if ever

If we don't find out what the hell this is soon, I am going to have to pre-order one, just in case it is the mythical re-recorded Appetite!  Otherwise I have enough copies lying around...

That's the strange thing about America - you hardly have any record shops, whereas in the UK they are still very prominent.  In NY the only proper record shop I could find was Virgin in Times Sq!

whatever... everyone's talking about Chinese Democracy, not AFD. We want new music right now, not (very) old music. We're only discussing AFD because of this limited version, a 'new' release.  :)

Does anybody else think that it would be a bad idea to release 'old band' material, in a limited edition, days before new album...it would just fuel the Slash/Duff BS in the media.  I am still hoping this is the re-recorded AFD Axl mentioned years ago.  Someone HAS TO know for sure what this is?  Another BB screw up?  New packaging with original album AND rerecorded material?  A leather cover with cornrow-braid binding? :confused:

I think it's just the japanese version with the original artwork.

Hate to keep posting - sometimes I feel like I'm beating a dead horse - but 'sofia' at Best Buy just e-mailed me back that she doesn't have any information on this 'product' and that I should feel free to call their sales department if I have further questions...unfuckingbelievable. 

How the hell do these dolts expect people to pre-order this for delivery next week, with no description?  It's like buying a $5 'grab bag' at the fair, but you could open it and find 20 cents worth of 'swedish fish' candy.  :rant:

PS - doubt its Japanese version, isn't marked 'import'...they are pretty good about that...and why the price?

which is essentially the album on vinyl only, remastered. It's a 180gm record, which essentially means it's heavier and sustains less wear. The sound quality is also supposed to be a lot better on 180 gm vinyl. My guess would also be that it features the original 'rape' sleeve too.

I think it's safe to order it, as the BBC, when reporting the Chinese Democracy release date mentioned a vinyl re-issue of Appetite.

This is a CD...Vinyl is available, and has separate code...it does appear to line up price/date wise with Japanese version 'on sale' at reduced price, and according to other boards I tried to search for answer, this IS what it is.  I am surprised that BB didn't label it 'import' as they usually do - I believe it is a legal requirement.  Who knows...

Its only on bestbuy.com. Its not a in store thing. I called them up and they don't know whats on it or anything about it. They now have all the albums up as (SHM) for 39.99 they are cd form. And they have AFD (Limited Edition) for 22.99 and its on back order. I want it. But i want to know what i'm buying lol. I don't understand how they can put all this stuff on there and not know anything about.  :rofl:

Got this.  It's just Japanese import with regular artwork.  Very disappointing.  Anyone else get anything different?

BB did not mark this as (import) - you should return it and go nuts...perhaps you will get some bonus bucks for your trouble...
