Title: Surprise instruments on the album? Post by: wight gunner on October 26, 2008, 02:45:43 PM Have tried to find a place to drop this in, but haven't found a subject that would seem apt. Does anybody think there will be any suprise instruments being played on the album.
There has been talk of a harp and we know in the past Gn'R used the cowbell and I think (without checking) there's a sitar at the beginning of Pretty tied up. And we know about the full orchastra as used in the past. Does anybody know of/think there's gonna be a sound thus far not played by the band. PS Did hear a rumour of Jarmo playing the triangle in another thread.... Title: Re: Surprise instruments on the album? Post by: GunnerOne 84 on October 26, 2008, 02:56:48 PM Vibraslap

Title: Re: Surprise instruments on the album? Post by: Reinaldo on October 26, 2008, 03:35:35 PM wasn't there word that they had this one laddy coming in and doing the harp? Yeap. Sometime ago there was the information on Patti Hood's site that she played the harp on "This I Love". Now there's just a mention that she played a song on CD without mentioning which one. http://www.pattihood.net/html/resume.html Title: Re: Surprise instruments on the album? Post by: Robman? on October 26, 2008, 03:39:29 PM It'd be interesting to see if axl actually used a real ochestra on this record, rather than layers upon layers of synths.

This is something I am very excited to find out. Hoping for real orchestra. Title: Re: Surprise instruments on the album? Post by: Reinaldo on October 26, 2008, 03:53:10 PM It'd be interesting to see if axl actually used a real ochestra on this record, rather than layers upon layers of synths. There are real orchestras everywhere on CD and beyond. http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/releases/newalbum.htm www.marcobeltrami.com http://www.etsmtl.ca/pers/jboisono/shawnphillips/friends/paul.htm (previously there were info on both sites that they provided arrengements on some songs. Not there anymore though, I think) Title: Re: Surprise instruments on the album? Post by: Dickeye on October 26, 2008, 03:54:32 PM I want a Bill Moseley bird solo, and That 1 Guy's magic pipe.

Title: Re: Surprise instruments on the album? Post by: Mal Brossard on October 27, 2008, 11:01:26 AM Vibraslap One was used on Double Talkin Jive. I'm hoping for a flugelhorn and banaculas just because I like the names. Title: Re: Surprise instruments on the album? Post by: jarmo on October 28, 2008, 06:05:17 PM There's supposed to be harp. I think that might surprise people.
Other than that, I don't know. Judging by the single, I think people will be surprised in many ways. /jarmo Title: Re: Surprise instruments on the album? Title: Re: Surprise instruments on the album? Post by: Reinaldo on October 28, 2008, 07:09:29 PM OK, maybe I'm on a long trip, but I'm almost sure there's a berimbau on the album. :hihi:
It's typical from Bahia, a northeast state of Brazil. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berimbau (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berimbau) "It was a long time for you, it was a long time for me, it'd be a long ***** time for anyone..." ***** I can sense it'll be on this part OK. Now back to :smoking: |
