Title: Buckethead's albums? Post by: Thorned Rose on October 24, 2008, 01:18:15 PM Never got into his music, thought I would check it out.
What are his best albums? Title: Re: Buckethead's albums? Post by: tippasaurus on October 24, 2008, 03:46:20 PM There are already countless threads on this topic, but I'll "bite." The best album depends on your taste in music. If you prefer something more mellow Colma or Electric Tears would be your best bet. If you prefer something more "funky" or "jazzy," I'd start with Population Override. If you prefer something more aggressive you should go with Enter the Chicken. And if you like something with big melodic guitar solos w/ some experimental shredding thrown in maybe you want to go w/ Crime Slunk Scene or Monsters and Robots.
Personally I started with Monsters and Robots. It seemed to be a good introduction for someone unfamiliar w/ Buckethead. Title: Re: Buckethead's albums? I wasn't able to search it said "you're not allowed to search this thread, trust me. I tried to. Thanks for you help though. I think I am going to try out Electric Tears first. Title: Re: Buckethead's albums? Post by: Thorned Rose on October 25, 2008, 09:55:21 AM I got "Electric Tears" and I was blown away, very impressive music, didn't know he played mellow stuff like that.
I'm really ashamed for doubting this guy. Title: Re: Buckethead's albums? Post by: mcmurray on October 25, 2008, 03:14:20 PM His best album as far as I'm concerned is Thanatopsis - Axiology. It will take a while to sink in and appreciate, but it's simply amazing.
BTW Thorned Rose, mellow stuff is one of Buckets specialities. Be sure to check out Colma also, you will be pleasantly suprised. Also, the following vid is one of my favorite mellow moments from Bucket; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41QaVfloOQw Also give this one a spin, it's phenomenal; http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5V67VSHH Title: Re: Buckethead's albums? Les Claypool Buckethead Brain Benie Worrell Saw them live at Bonarroo in 2002, a lot of experimental stuff. The album they made is pretty cool if you can get into a more funky vibe.
