They did some kind of documentary for the 2006 tour. I know cause the guy who was filmed it, filmed me too and i asked him when it would be released. He said after CD

The band was unreal on tour in 2006/2007.

Almost to the point of.. can they do it again?

Crowds were MANIC everywhere they played and the shows just had great, warm vibes. GNR came in and basically took no prisoners. Everyone just surrendered! I love that they headlined everywhere too. "Sorry, GNR is on the bill now too, you're down to second.."... And the band had no new album or original material out and hadn't had for 13 years...

I hope to see a show on disc from this tour in some shape or form. Or as material for a video for one of the songs (Better!). They're sitting on gold with all that film (many shows were taped) in stock.

It might  true about the DVD.  A Best Buy manager told me a few weeks ago that the cd was coming with a bonus DVD he thought.  He was at the Best Buy gathering last month.

Rio and Rock Am Ring never had the band at it's best IMO.

I remember someone saying they talked to a guy at the Hammerstein shows and they were making a documentary of that show, the first one I think...

Hammersmith was every bit as significant as the Hammerstein gigs. The energy was incredible- like nothing I've ever experienced. It would be perfect for a DVD release.

Why not a "Best Of" Live DVD?  Exclusive interviews, crowd shots, along with of course the best live moments.  :peace:

Thanks, I thought it was a good idea too.  Seriously, real GNR fans know where they were at every GNR show they attended.  Who wouldn't want to see a camera scan of the audience the minute the lights go up and we're going fucking bonkers in the crowd?  Hammerstein May 12th I must have jumped 5 feet in the air when that shit started up!  Take the best/most memorable performances and get 'em on there.  Aw hell, I'm just happy this bitch is comin' out!   :yes:

Not a bad idea but its like you're only getting a taste of the show. I'd rather the best show, in their opinion, brought out with a shit load of interviews and behind the scenes stuff. maybe a bonus dvd (HOB 2001).

A show with Izzy would be choice but I do think it should be Just GN'R for the 1st live DVD. No Baz just one of the shows they did without him on stage. Not that I don't like Baz or Izzy but Just so people will see the band and know them without interruptions.

To be honest, I say they release a DVD later in 2009 of a live show...from 2009.  Then they can play more stuff from CD.

I would assume that they would wait on this till after the 09' tour so that they will have some newer footage to go along with some footage from 06'.. should be awesome!

They film something back at the May 06 shows. I was interviewed in line at the May 16th show.

I know he doesn't manage the band anymore, but didn't Merck say they were considering making every show available on dvd?  Just some food for thought

Yes, i agree, i was at the show that night, I looked everywhere for a complete copy of the show and i couldnt find a thing,  there is a couple on you tube from the Hali show, including the complete Liqour and Whores and Sweet Child O Mine.  The quality is great,  someone recorded this and there just hoarding it..

Would you want a dvd from one show, or songs from a bunch of shows ?

i think they should put the shows on sale on a website, so you would download them to your pc and then to a cd, or they can send it by fedex. maybe the problem of distributing something to stores and then not knowing if it will sell much its the problem, you fix the problem with this.

I still hope the Rock In Rio III concert will be released one day, that was a killer show. Especially after all those years of expectation. And what a crowd!!!
However, the sad thing about that show is that Richard wasn't part of the band back then. But since GN'R changes it's line-up more frequently then the Queen of England changes her underwear it's not such a big deal. And I'm sure Richard will be in GN'R for quite some time and will apear in many videos or live dvds.

A official live dvd would be awesome but I'm more excited that I might get to see another live show next year. I'm fairly confident it will happen and I'm already putting the pennies aside so I can see as many shows as possible.

All four warm up shows in NYC would be cool to have on the DVD. I also think a DVD of more than one show would be cool. I was lucky to go to 8 shows in 06 and I would love to see all of them on the DVD. I would also liketo see some of the shows in 07. Whatever the DVD is I'm sure it's going to be cool.  : ok: 

I was specifically told that I was being interviewed for a GNR dvd at Hammerstein in 06.Whoever was filming inside the venue worked for GNR.So,at some point there were plans for that footage to be on a dvd.

Also, of course we want a video/interviews/Rolling Stone covers,etc.Most people here want the album to be a smash and these kind of things are needed so that the general public knows the album is coming out.

I'd love to see official footage of many of the gigs through 06-07.  Be so cool to see a song from one of the Australian gigs, where Guns hadnt been since early nineties, don't cry from Japan, IRS from the acoustic gig in London, WTTJ at first night in Hammerstein, Donnington (something with Iz perhaps) Nightrain was amazing there,  and yes Axl and ckgent for KOHD at Hammersmith  :hihi:

Yeah - have gone to fantasty land for the dvd of my dreams!  Any DVD they put together would rock, but I imagine listening to CD will take my mind off all that for some time!
