ok, once you get CD on your hands, are you going to play it all or go directly to the 4 songs you don't know?
i had this problem when UYI came out. went to the record company to get both vinyls, and while driving on the bus home with both records on my hand i was like "where will i start?".
you had november rain there, supposedly Axl's best track, should i listen to it right away or just start at "right next door to hell?".
i know with CD i'll go directly with the new 4 songs, then listen to the whole album.

I will be playing it from start to finish with no interruptions and as loud as possible   : ok: :beer:

I wonder if there's anyone with different opinion :hihi:

Im going for a nice country drive (perhaps the famous Cabot Trail here on Cape Breton Island) by myself, so i can listen to the album as loud as i want and as many times as i want, and yes i will play it through 1-14, makes it more exciting,

start to finish... even if i've heard the songs before.

It is tempting to go straight to the songs we know to hear the finished versions, but I want to hear how the whole album ties together from start to finish. :beer:

Well also being in Cape Breton, not by choice, I will endeavor to sink this backwards little island into the ocean while listen to my copy of CD.....Actually I will listen to the album on my Bose system.

But I don't care...CHINESE DEMOCRACY IS COMING OUT!. With all the changes and stuff, the songs that were leaked will be very different so it will be very interesting too.

I had the same problem w/ the UYI set..But as I did w/ those I'll listen straight through on the car ride home..Than when I get home I'll read the lyrics along w/ the song..

I'll be hoppin into my new ride to listen as well, from start to finish will be my choice, and the price of gas almost $4 a gallon here, but on this day a celebration is in store, nothing else matters, not even the price of gas :P

I've been thinking about this one alot.

I think what I will do is get myself a GREAT set of headphones and listen to it all the way through from the beginning.  Eyes closed, just immerse myself in it.

I have a couple of elderly relatives that live above me and will be listening to this in the early hours (if it's a midnight release)  I'd prefer not to be evicted, and I think I'll get the best listen out of headphones rather then through speakers.

Go buy some sony dynamic stereo headphones from best buy. About 20 dollars or so, and they sound great.

I think that's kinda what theyre called. They are not the super expensive noise cancelling ones, but arent the smaller headphones or ear buds. Nice sized great headphones.

I'll give the whole album a spin, except I'll have to skip Shackler's unless its a different version because that beat makes me nauseous. Other than that, I like all of the other leaks I have heard and I'm interested in hearing finished versions. I'm looking forward to Catcher in the Rye, but hoping he fleshed out the lyrics a bit. I'm hoping for one of those trademark Axl songs that's 2-3 CD book pages of lyrics like Garden of Eden, Coma etc. I'm interested in hearing Axl's voice in studio. I hope they don't bury it in the mix, but he seems to have lost that bass and raspiness to his voice on the leaks. I'm hoping its just the weak recordings. Thats the biggest thing for me. Axl's voice is so unique, that he could sing a shit song back in the day and make it sound good.

This album seems like a "Concept" sort of thing, so listening from beginning to end would be best. I just hope Bach is still on "Sorry"

I'm still agreeing with the idea that an album isn't necessarily just a bunch of songs thrown together. There's a flow...

Im going to go from start to finish...because I have never heard any of the final mixes on this album...it will all be new to me....I always like to think that there is a rhyme and reason to why an artist puts certain songs in the order in which they are....I want to listen to it as GNR intended it...

I've heard that whenever Jarmo listens to "Slippery When Wet", he skips straight to track 3.

I agree on listening to CD straight through, from start to finish. But I admit I will probably take an extra deep breath before each song starts that we haven't heard.

once i buy the three copies i said i was gonna buy i'm going to savor the moment as long as posible. First, i'm gonna first stare at them for no less than 2 hours, then open them and look inside each booklet , next take the CD out and look at it carfully, then put everything back in the case and drive to my friends' houses that bet me money that it WOULDN'T come out and show it to them and the receipt and collect dues, Then Finally listen to each song one by one in order :headbanger: :bow: :smoking: : ok:

Here's my plan.

I get my x amount of copies. 

I go home with all my loot.  I open the main copy SLOWLY.  I will hear and feel the cellophane rustle through my fingers.

I will then carefully take off the sticker on top of the jewel case.  I will then place it on my wall of CD stickers.

I will open it, and smell it.  The sweet smell of victory!

I will take out the booklet and examine it.  Not too closely, just a quick glance.

The next step will be putting CD in my player and listening to it from start to finish the first time with my best headphones.  I will then hit repeat, but as I do that I will read the lyrics that accompany the songs.

After my second spin, I will carefully read the liner notes.  I won't miss a single detail.

Lastly, I will take my treasured possession and place it in my car and just DRIVE!

Yep, same here. Not enough patience to simply start with the title song... :)

Normally I would listen to it start to finish...but I may check out CITR first, then listen in order a good ten times before I start jumping around.

I love that some of you have done some real planning here, Lord knows we have all had alot of time to do so, hope everybody's stategies for the first listen will be everything each and everyone has hoped for.

Oh man you have to listen to it straight through start to finish, it was made to be an album not a collection of singles, and, should be listened to that way, Axl probably meticulously picked the song order, and if he didn't want these songs to flow in this order he could have just released them one at a time or bunches together, thats the problem with this itunes music world, nobody listens to albums, and not many artists concentrate on making "albums"

NO question about it, for me it's a straight through listen for the first few times!!!

This is the best part for me.  I'm off all of Thanksgiving week.  So when I buy it on the 23rd, im just going to listen to it over and over and over and over ...  ;D  I don't care lol, we've waited so long for it, its an event for us to listen to it !!!

This may sound weird, but here's how I plan to do it:

On the way home from Best Buy, I wanna hear Riad and the Bedouins first.  Love this song, I wanna hear that.  Then Chinese Democracy.

Then when I get home, I will listen to the entire CD start to finish on my stereo.  Then I will do this again but on my iPod with headphones to get more details out of it.

I'm going to listen to Hollywood Rose first, then every Guns album in chronological order from start to finish, including greatest hits.  Probably put on RiR DVD.  Then, and only then, will I play CD.

When i renegotiated my work contract i spesifically put in that i demanded two days off work, with payment, when CD was released, just to listen to it from start to finish, over and over. My boss laughed and said that the record would never see the light of day so he said i could have a week lol.

Anyway, I'll listen to it from start to finish no doubht.

i have decided not listen to the leaks anymore. So when the album drops I will have not heard any new gnr material for over a month. which is going to be hard to do. I have been listening to new gnr day in and day out for yrs now....

if i had to pick one song that I would skip directly to it would probably be This I Love or Sorry...This I Love would have to get the nod

Yes, i him drive min nuts with daily updates and stories. He says he still doesn't believe in it tho. I guess he's in denial so i have to turn up at work on monday the 24th just to show him the actual record and then go home he he.
