After If The World was on that film, it made me wonder if Madagascar could be appearing on something also. Then I started thinking that Madagascar could well be getting released, not on a film but as launching single for Chinese Democracy. Its a huge and epic song, its such a perfect statement from Axl on his return, and its also a good blend of the new and the old GN'R sound colliding to relaunch this new band to the masses. Would be a great surprise to know that the leaks were nothing more than really good 'filler.'
Either way, this is further proof that as much as we think we know about this album (these albums), we don't know shit! Bring it on Guns N' Roses! Bring it, the fuck, ON!!! "It?s a day many Guns N? Roses fans thought would never come: Chinese Democracy, the album Axl Rose has labored over for more than a decade, will finally hit stores on Sunday, November 23rd (a departure from the normal Tuesday record release day). The album will be sold exclusively in Best Buy stores and online at Bestbuy.com and iTunes. A music video is in the works, and the band ? in which Rose is the only remaining original member ? is expected to tour in 2009, according to a source close to G N? R. ?The music is well worth waiting for,? says Gary Arnold, senior entertainment officer for Best Buy, which began negotiating the deal in 2007. ?We?ve all heard the stories about this album, and now everybody gets to hear that it?s real.? The album?s 14 songs include the poppy ?Better,? the industrial rocker ?Shackler?s Revenge? (featured in the new Rock Band 2), the power ballad ?If the World? (which plays in the new film Body of Lies), the anthemic title track and a song called ?Scraped? that was previously unknown to fans. ?It?s going to be a great rock Christmas,? Arnold says. ?I just hope it doesn?t take 14 years for the next one.? Bestbuy.com has a listings page up that isn?t taking pre-orders yet but does suggest that there will be several different versions of the album available (or at least a few different covers). Title: Re: New Song Title - Scraped / Lies They Tell - From BMI & RS Article Post by: m_rated96 on October 16, 2008, 02:11:05 AM uhh kind of. Artists basically sign up to get royalty checks, and organise like percentage splits of song composition.
BMI basically organise payment of royalties; that is, radio etc pay BMI every time they play a GNR song, and BMI pays the band (while taking a nice little admin fee for themselves) Title: Re: New Song Title - Scraped / Lies They Tell - From BMI & RS Article Post by: Chuzeville on October 16, 2008, 02:20:14 AM Not the middle man (that would be the publisher and the record company); more like a third party. The song is played and then BMI has its say on behalf of the artist.
