yes he is and i think pitman was born 76 (at least that all we ever heard).. and axl's legal name is W. Axl Rose.. there's no william there anymore what i know of.. so those things are incorrect

I seen that a couple of weeks ago, before the song was included on Body of Lies.

After If The World was on that film, it made me wonder if Madagascar could be appearing on something also. Then I started thinking that Madagascar could well be getting released, not on a film but as launching single for Chinese Democracy.

Its a huge and epic song, its such a perfect statement from Axl on his return, and its also a good blend of the new and the old GN'R sound colliding to relaunch this new band to the masses.

It's on the front page, just scroll down past the Obama and Green Day shit.

Wow! Another new song title!  :o  I wonder if songs like 'Madegascar' and 'The Blues' will be released as non-album B-Sides instead of acutual tracks on the album. Would be a great surprise to know that the leaks were nothing more than really good 'filler.'

Either way, this is further proof that as much as we think we know about this album (these albums), we don't know shit!

Actually Madagascar is the only new song I don't like... I hope that's not a single. I don't see radio picking it up at all. Shackler's Revenger, Better or Chinese Democracy are the singles IMO.

Nice to see Pitman is more than just the 2nd keyboard, techno effects, in the band but not really in the band guy....looks like he contributed quite a bit in the song writing.

Not pretending to be Nostradamus or anything, but I started a thread about 3 or 4 years ago saying how Chris Pitman would be the secret weapon or something to that affect. I can't find it on the forum anymore but my foresight was spot on it seems as he has contributed to a bunch of songs it seems.

The rollingstone article is down as you've mentioned. Could it be that some of the info were not to be revealed until the official press release? Such as plans for a 2009 tour and the filming of a music video.. I think our press release is right around the corner.

I don't know why they bothered to remove the article from their site because it's in the hard copy of the mag.  You'd think they would just admit on their site that they got it wrong and post a retraction/apology.

Broadcast Music, Incorporated (BMI) is a US performing rights organization. It collects license fees on behalf of its songwriters, composers, and music publishers and distributes them as royalties to those members whose works have been performed.

ohh so they're basically the middle men that songs and shit goes through before its posted on the internet and radio right?

uhh kind of. Artists basically sign up to get royalty checks, and organise like percentage splits of song composition.

BMI basically organise payment of royalties; that is, radio etc pay BMI every time they play a GNR song, and BMI pays the band (while taking a nice little admin fee for themselves)

Not the middle man (that would be the publisher and the record company); more like a third party. The song is played and then BMI has its say on behalf of the artist.

Not necessarily; all released songs will generate royalties.
