I'd rather drive a little further and get to hang out w/ some fans before we bum rush the store and make an event out of it. The nearest best buy to my place is East Setauket, Long Island.

If there is one that does a midnight opening close by, that will be the one I'm at. Probably West Hartford, CT. If not, I'll be at the one closest to my house: Avon, Ct (a new store). Also, if West Hartford does the midnight opening, I'm going to see if I can "organize" a little get together to "tailgate" there amongst the GnR online community. Not sure just how many CT residents are around that would be interested, but I'll put a thread up when we get more details to find out. I'll provide some Dr. Pepper...maybe some tunes. It is the Sunday before Black Friday. BestBuy might hold a midnight sale not just for CD but for the store as a whole. Like most stores, they will be open late from that day until Christmas. Is this a world wide release? Something tells me there aren't any Best Buys in Italy. Where is it being sold over seas? To the people meeting up in NYC, if there is enough of you getting together, you should contact a local bar, tell them you're bringing X amount of people and get them to play CD (while you spend money on beer/food). I think we should organize countdown parties all arriving at best buy exactly five hours before it opens...then listen to all the songs as we wait in line. But I guess that makes sense, considering BB are the only ones selling the cd..They are only competing w/ themselves..Why open at an odd hour and pay OT? Besides Also they sell cd's to get people in the store in hopes of making multiple purchases..With a midnight release who would shop for anyhting other than a $12.00 cd..I probably wont regardless.. The torture of it for me is I have to work 8-4 on 11/23/08.. Oaks Motherfuckers. I bothered the fine people at Best Buy last Saturday. They do not plan on opening at midnight here either. They also said they didn't have any copies of the CD yet. I have a friend who runs a bar in central London of a rock persuasion - will ask her if she's got anything planned and suggest it to her if not. Had hoped at one stage to hire somewhere and do it myself, but its not possible at the moment.
