Here Today... Gone To Hell!

If GNR were to release a Chinese Democracy box set alongside the actual album.  What would you want to have in the boxset (what would make it worth buying?)...AND...how much would you pay for it?

For me it would be at least these items...

1.  Exclusive t-shirt
2.  Picture Book
3.  A bonus disc of material (demos or a live concert)

I'd pay $99 for this...but would pay upwards of $150/200 depending what else comes in it.

If there were any extras included on "CD" I would love to get a live Hammerstein DVD...i went to a few of those shows...i would love to get some of it on DVD..

For me honestly, I'd just love the album in physical form (not a download). If they in fact make a set out of it ofcourse I'd LOVE to see some performances from the 06/07 tour and maybe some of those acoustic songs??

Best Buy exclusives always come with a bonus cd. I could see the bonus cd being extra tracks (like they always do there).

I didn't even think about that. What if ITW and SR aren't on that album but are included on the Best Buy bonus disc?

A live CD of the 2nd Hammerstein show since I was there would be cool, but I'd rather have as much new material as possible. I think whatever is in the vault that's intended to be heard should be released at once, not over time. Even if you have to buy them separate like UYI's. I don't care about a T-Shirt, or the making of, or any of the drama about why it took so long. Just some new music is all I need. Its just music, so should go for no more that nay other CD, or box set.

Of course best case scenario, which is obviously not happening, but say there is 3 CDs, if 1 was a bonus disc of lost material from the original lineup? God damn I'd be a happy kid!

If there is a trilogy as some people claim, I would simply like that as a box set. Drop the whole load at once.

The more I think about it...a live DVD would be better than a live CD.

Since all the leaks are such a part of the history/making of...for chidem...what they should do is package all the leaks onto a bonus disc.  That would be a very cool to see the progression of the songs.

The box would be an old brown leather bound book, with ancient chinese artwork and symbols, inside it would open, and you would see the image of a dragon, with chinese symbols underneath for the actual release date, and "Chinese Democracy Starts Now" under that.

It would include 2 discs, 1 disc would be the album, and the second would be a mix of bonus tracks, live tracks, and demo ideas. It would also come with "Axl's Scrapbook", featuring photo's taken over the whole Chinese Democracy period, live and in the studio. Axl would also foreword the booklet with a personal statement about the album's process.

Also included would be 2 artwork post cards, and a sheet of stickers, and a card enabling us to download and view exclusive video's from a forthcoming documentary/live dvd!

Anything including that London acoustic show...  :drool:

It would have:
- The CD
- A bottle of Night Train
- A lock of Axl's hair
- A picture of Buckethead unmasked
- The location of Osama Bin Laden

Anyone remember the backstage footage that we received last year, with Izzy there at donnigton just before gnr went on stage...

I would love to see that video in its entirety (Im hoping its a few hours)

I think that it would be very cool, and appropiate if they included more than just the cd. Hopefully they are smart, and include more than that.

This cd has been in the works since 1998 for sure, people like to say 15, 17 years, but you go back to 98, when the first real song came out, and when Matt left.

So 10 years, various changes, what we want

This is what I would LOVE to have.

-CD of course
-Thick booklet with pictures and a timeline of the making
-Making of video 30 minutes long at least!
-demo mix cd released
-live dvd of hammerstein with Izzy
-a discount coupon for the Greatest Hits so new fans will dig it

All of this for 50 bucks is a fair bargain I think.

Or just release the cd with a booklet. With all the history and confusion and chaos for this album, they should clarify who was on it, why it took so long, and the process of it. Even if we just get the cd, I'm happy.

It finally after all these years has a release date. I got into Gn'R in the summer of 00, and have been waiting for this album since 2001 really. Glad it's here.

I mean you can say He's been working on it since 9-18-91, but we both know that's bullshit

CD is only about 9-11 years old at best. Must be really hard for all your long time fans, since the 90s...

I really think there's a chance the album might be a 2-disc set, like RHCP's 'Stadium Arcadium', so include the album (1 or 2 discs, whichever), a DVD with the best of the Hammerstein shows, the re-recorded 'Appetite',  another DVD with a documentary, showing the evolution of the band, showing recording sessions, etc. and maybe a book or some collectible photos or something. Best Buy recently went all out with the relase of David Gilmour's 'Live in Gdansk' set, it's 3 cd's and 2 DVD's, including 5.1 mixes, and I think it comes with a ticket stub and a few other little cool things. Something like that would definitely show appreciation to us, IMO. It sells for $69.99 btw.

Remember the whole 'reality show' rumor, which was officially dispelled - perhaps there was some truth behind the rumors...there may have been film crews 'seen about' with the band...the makings of a great rockumentary/making of/live dvd.  Just another crazy theory...

one thing that would be pretty fuckin smart i think would be with these 3 different "versions" or whatever, if each one had different pics not just on the cover but inside too and a different bonus song on all too..

then in 3 months release an EP with these 3 bonus songs and the 3 first singles ;D

I'd would like two backstage passes to hang out with the band before they get to the show. (Hang with G&R at the Hotel room). Ride with them to the show at night. Hang out backstage and party with them. See the show. Than hang out again after the show...............now if they include that in the box set.........that would be fan-tastic!!!!!!!  :rofl:

The actual CD, maybe a bonus CD of like 4 new tracks and a DVD of concet footage of songs performed live.  My dream would be an actual DVD with Axl talking about the making of the album, but I don't think Axl would do it since he's so private, but I'd love to hear him in own words.  That would be kick ass.

Besides the album,  MAKING OF DVD  THAT"s All I Ask  :drool:  I would pay $200!!!
