This expensive? This better be something more than just a digitial copy of AfD... What about a two disc set. One original AfD and a rerecorded one?

Well the really weird thing about it is on 12/3/08 the shm afd cd comes out and its more expensive then this one.  All of the other shm releases come out on 12/3 too.  So I don't think that its not a super high quality disc either

Maybe it's to tie-in with CD?

Or maybe it's a place holder in their system for CD?

It's just a priced down Japanese reissue that will ONLY be available for a month. It will be deleted as of 12/29/08. No bonus tracks or anything:

if thats true than i'm done with G'n'R for a loooonnngggg time. The band and retailers need to stop fucking around release Chinese democracy and if its not ready yet or if there isn't anything being released for sure then they need to stop fucking with us fans. This in more of a cock tease than my ex girlfriend, and its pissing me off >:(

From Amazon:

Product Description
Limited edition Japanese pressing. This is a glimpse of the future--and not because of its huge influence and umpteen million sales. The poor-little-rich-boy protest 'Out Ta Get Me' intimates that Axl Rose's egotism and martyr complex were soon to grow bigger than his head; still, Appetite's night-train wreck of punk and metal sounds and sensibilities make it more than just an emblem of its time. Whether G'N'R are dancing with 'Mr. Brownstone', penning a callow kiss-off letter to some chick named 'Michelle', or passing out on somebody else's sofa, this was and remains a savage journey to the heart of the American--or at least the Hollywood--dream. 12 total tracks. Geffen. 2005.

I don't think this is anything special guys...

It's a Japanese reissue ONLY.

It's NOT the re-recorded version.

There's NOTHING special about it at all.

Since CD's are off-the-wall expensive in Japan, they do this sometimes. It's a one month only, "cheap" ($13.99 or so) pressing, to try to move more units, I'd assume.

Just a heads up:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7662833.stm

"The new album will be accompanied by a vinyl re-release of Guns N' Roses' 1987 debut, Appetite For Destruction. "

The BBC must consider Billboard a reputable source to run a story like that.

I would love to hear a re-recorded version of AFD with the new band... Robin doing the SCOM solo would be sick!!!!

Billboard is concrete. But we have to wait for the bands response. I'm sure they are working on making a big announcment, maybe including a tour and stuff as well.

Just a thought, would Axl have considered releasing the re-recorded version of Appetite on vinyl or will it be the original recording? ???
