There's an article in NME about The Replacements which says:

'Drummer Chris Mars retired from music to concentrate on painting, while Tommy Stinson, the teenage bassist, ended up in Guns N Roses until a spat with Axl Rose forced his departure'.

Paging Mysteron.I am calling bullshit, why would Tommy leave this close to the album?Plus he can still make his solo music, play with Soul Asylum,etc.

With the way NME has portrayed GN'R in the past, it is my opinion that their mag makes for great toilet paper (not literally, since that would probably hurt).

More GnR rumors in the media - surprised???  I think this was an attempt to force 'somebody' to say something...the band is probably shutting out the media in advance of release, and nothing frustrates them more than someone not talking.  Thats why they love an undisciplined blabbermouth like Baz (great singer, verbal diarrhea when not singing).

Yup.  Just as it sounded: crap.  Beta supposedly just gave confirmation at that "other" board that it wasn't true.

Isn't it funny how that other board condones it when their users denigrate Beta's role in the GNR camp but when they want to find out if something is true or not, she's the first person they ask/trust for the truth.

Popular or not, that place allows SO much shit-talk on the band from people who, I swear to God, are NOT fans, and only want to see Axl & GN'R lose.  Fuck ANY PLACE like that.  That's the reason I left.

So how did this thread go from talking about Tommy to discussing some other forum?

I can't believe anyone in the band now would be leaving at this point in time...IMO....They stand to gain to much to leave all of their hard work behind.

Jeez - never trust the nme.  My respect for them is long since over.  The writing and attitudes have lowered and lowered for the past few years! 
Its always good to hear when something is proven false, but I dont expect to ever hear something I dont know about GnR from the nme.

I stopped reading the others because I couldn't handle the ride - too much false info, rumors, by people who claim to be 'in the know'...when I wan't to discuss 'other topics', I go to my local hardware store's plumbing dept.  HTGTH is the only Gn'R forum that seems to maintain its integrity, and hence, is the only one I have actually bothered to post on.

I am glad the Tommy rumor was DOA...now if Robin would let us know what his plans are...

I'm waiting for someone to start a "Is Axl IN or OUT of the Band" Thread next.

I swear someone already wrote 'they heard' rediculous rumor of Baz replacing Axl in 'new' Gn'R...can't remember/find where...but in the absence of info, people seem to want to make their own up - especially the mainstream people who are supposed to know better.  I trust that Gn'R will let us know what's up when they are good and ready! I am afraid that until then we will (OK, Jarmo or Mysteron will) have to keep shooting down  silly rumors and 'fake' news.
