Anyway like I said let's get back on topic, I'd be more than happy to continue this discussion in the dead horse section since that's where this is gonna end up eventually.

I thought it was pretty cool. Slash doesn't sound "out of place" at all and that's pretty impressive considering this was a flamenco gig and I assume everything was improvised.

Wasn't too impressed with that tbh! Maybe it's the fact he's playing on an electric....didn't sound right.

Wasn't impressed. That was not epic (like robin finck). He doesn't have any emotion, just shreds. Guns would've been better with bumblefoot.

But i'm not trying to put down slash in any way, the thing is i had flamenco lessons ( and i'm far from being good at it, since it is pretty damn hard to master), however along the line i have picked up some cds and talked about flamenco with people who actually play it for a living, and i can tell you, from my knowledge in the genre that was pretty lame.

of course my opinion is just that, i don't dictate what is good and what is bad, and i'm not even telling how buckethead or robin or rich would do it better. that's not that at all, i just think, from a guitar playing point of view slash is kinda lost in the mix, playing electric is a weird choice and it doesn't sound too good.

And i can only imagine what some of my teachers would say upon hearing this.

But then again, i must say i really like slash's playing and i think he is unique, however this didn't sound that interesting to me.

if i'm a troll for not loving everything slash does, so be it, but i so happen to like slash's playing but not in this particular video. actually i think it's the first time i've seen slash suck at guitar playing so it's kinda unique in a way  :P

He's lost in the mix, he ruins the song and all he does is very redundant. but then again, that's just my opinion, everyone is free to think for themselves and if you guys enjoy it, great. i see many people happy with what they hear, and music is subjective, wich means everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as it's respectful.

hmmm... he looks like scary, look at his hands... I belive he was in Spain and some Flamenco guys did invite him to play a song... look how the left guy huges him after the song.

I think it was all improvised, and flamenco is the most difficult rhytm to play

Anyone know what year this is from?

I remember reading an article a while back which quoted some flamenco players as saying Slash hasn't played that style before, but they were impressed with how well he stuck with them.

That said it's not really anything special but fair play to him for having a crack at it.
