Title: bumblefoot interview in classic rock
Post by: daviebuckethead on August 07, 2008, 05:37:14 AM
i think this is new, delete if its old news.

http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/page/classicrock?entry=bumblefoot_speaks

bbf seemed to say the shackler is about to be heard. without over analysing (as is often done), i think this could point to a release in a different format to the game (i tunes or whatever).

I posted this in a different forum as well, and it turns out Ron would like the following posted when linked to the interview

"I should add... we spoke *a lot* and this interview is a very condensed version. For example, "The 70s were a great time for music. I still remember picking up Iron Maiden?s Killers randomly at a music store..." We spoke about how all types of music were flourishing in the late 70s, later in the conversation I said how I was browsing a record store in the early 80s and discovered Iron Maiden. In the interview, it could read as if I'm saying Killers came out in the 70s... these are excerpts pieced together, and not exact quotes. And some things were said with a light-hearted spirit that may not have come across when re-worded in the interview. Just stuff to keep in mind - thanks

Ron"

Ron in GNR and Bumblefoot for individual effort, okay I've got it.

I can't figure out that picture.  Really pissed off, been out partying for weeks or if he's part caveman.   :hihi:

Good interview

Good interview

it takes a lot of "cool" to take a picture like that he has probably been developing the look for years (zoolander anyone?)  : ok:

I'd assume it's when the new issue comes out.

But, the magazine's website, like the magazine itself, is so awful it's hard to tell.

Thanks for posting.   :)

Ron always comes across as a thoroughly decent bloke in interviews; I hope he's part of the Guns family for a long time to come.

Well it was good enough for Ron to accept an interview

I don't see why so many people are against Classic Rock...on the whole I think they are enthusiastic about Guns N Roses, don't you?

Ron is a reaaaaally cool guy. Too good to be true I'd say.

Classic Rock has posted some shit from time to time about GN'R. Still, that doesn't mean that Ron shouldn't talk to them at all because they've done that.

Sometimes if you want to stop them from spreading shit, you might give them the truth yourself, like Ron talking about Axl. However that obviously, as history taught us, doesn't work at all situations.

I believe most rock magazines are enthusiastic about GN'R. Axl sells...

Great read. BBF is a class act and I'm glad he's in the band. Thank you for the heads up/post.

altho classic rock leaves lots to be desired and these are not exact quotes, good calls.
thanks for posting davie and thanks Ron for clarifying many things.

Quote
With your own career to consider, how do things work? Do you have to be available when the call comes?

"Everyone?s in touch with each other. There?s a lot of texting about friendship-type stuff? whatever. And when the time comes to work I?m always updated. But if I?m not making music, I feel like I?ll suffocate. Everyone in the band is the same way; it?s real musicians."

take that, 'this is not a band' people. especially robin doubters.
I bet Robins plans caught him and other GNR members off guard a bit earlier than they did us. 8)

Quote
Has your life changed a lot since becoming a Gunner?

"Oh yeah. For a start, I dropped about 90lbs [around six stones]. I was a fat, sweaty, filthy bastard. You could?ve rolled me across the stage. But I?m healthy now. I also get the occasional death threat. None of that stalker-style stuff happened before, and it took some getting used to. It?s weird to be hated by someone you?ve never met before, for reasons that don?t make sense."

Sure enough!

I never would put it past some reunionists to make death threats against GNR members or send hate mails. Those stalkers should get arrested.

Quote
Have you seen things where you?ve thought, "Fucking hell, I can?t believe something like that would happen?"

"I was on the road for ten years before Guns, lugging my own gear around in vans for weeks at a time; I can honestly say that I saw more fucked-up things in those days than I do with Guns. It?s a very well-run band. If people don?t believe that; they wanna be entertained with made-up dirt, that?s their prerogative. But it?s true.

The perception, of course, is that W Axl Rose is the Howard Hughes of rock. You must see the other side of that??

"It?s funny you would say that about Axl. The Axl I know is a thoughtful, caring, fun person. He really is.

that's exactly how I think of axl as.  8)
