I think I would like to live forever, despite what the more apathetic immortals of fiction have to say about the concept. I'm slated to die at some point in time though, so I guess 100 would be nice. If only for bragging rights! Then again, who would I brag to? Most, if not all of the people I knew would probably be dead. Maybe those immortals were on to something. Hmmm.

I guess it's the fear of death that makes one want to cling to life. Once dead we either go on to something or end at nothing. Either is scary. If there is life after death then it is unknown, and we inherently fear the unknown. Conversely, if there is nothing then, well that speaks for itself! In both situations we have to let go (and unwillingly at that) everything we have ever known. That's not a prospect very many people would look forward to.

Just the other night I was going through considerable pain. I won't get into exactly why, but I remember thinking at the time that I wouldn't be able to live with this pain indefinitely. It really gave me a glimpse into what a chronic pain sufferer must go through. My point is that the smart answer to your question is when my quality of life is so poor that death would be a release. And if that was at a relatively early age, well that would suck big time, but at least my suffering would end. Life hurts a lot more than death as Jim Morrison would say.

omg, not to hijack the thread, but did anybody see that special just on featuring professor Randy Pausch?  My eyes are full of tears just thinking about his story.  Just click on youtube and find his 'last lecture, a celebration of life." 

He was 45 or 46 when diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  It's a lesson on how we live our lives.  Fucking amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!  What an inspiration.  Please check it out.

I believe my lifestyle with heavy drinking and one night stands are a fountain of youth and I will never die, or look like over 30.

i wouldn't try it, but i'm sure it's true and it works for more people then those 2, hell that have happened to people around me

thing is sometimes people don't show affection and shit until it's too late, after some people has lost someone, people suddenly start to show their love, but it's too late then question is why is it so hard to show it to the people you love around you?

I knew you were joking but honestly I don't think such people actually love those who they lost. Thye might act as if they loved the goner but in fact they only love themselves and feel sorry for themselves to lose someone around them. self pity.
