Remember when MTV was the channel for music and VH1 was for 30+ music fans?

My things have changed in 20 years!!

PARTY! Max is fun when VH1 has all those reality shows on.

PS. Good editing in those GN'R vids......particularly Paradise City. That was put out after 1990 though there is Donnington footage there...... some of the Patience stuff also after 1990......('cos Steve's there).....

I didnt know they were doing classic/current anymore. They canceled the show back in 2004, the last thing I remember seeing on there was 'Slither' and 'Sweet Child O' Mine".

Or was it just for that one video?

Metal Mania rocks.  It's on weekend nights and then weekend late mornings so you can watch it while you rock out of your hangover.  They have some good stuff on their aside from Metal Mania too.  VH1 Classic is one of my favorite channels for sure.

They had the Classic/Current show all the way up to 2006, if my memory serves me well.

But nowadays, they will play an old video by an artist and then a new one.  And as they are playing the new one, the CLASSIC/CURRENT logo will appear in the upper left hand corner.

Im damn sure they will do the same with any GNR vids, old or new.

They did it with old GN'R/VR.

VH1 Classic rules.  Aside from sports, it's all I really watch on TV.  (And my old tv shows.)

They have concerts, documentaries and blocks of hours dedicated to old videos.

Classic Rock Fest (Formerly known only as Rock Fest)
Metal Mania
120 Minutes

Tops in my book!  : ok:

The Who Rock Honors premiered on Vh1 and Vh1 classic simultaneously on Thursday. It'll probably be repeated 1000 times though.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. And I think you're right, it was 2006 or around then.

Yeah, I saw that last week.  I wasn't aware they had new stuff out.  I'll be honest though, I didn't quite make it through the entire new song.  Didn't exactly draw me in.  They've been playing Skid Row, followed by "Love Is A Bitchslap" lately.

I saw that one too.  Fucking Robert Plant wannabe!  :hihi:

My recent favorite Classic/Current artists are Springsteen and Def Leppard.

Girls In Their Summer Clothes and Nine Lives.  Pretty cool!

Imagine having Jungle/any new song!?

Not really that lame. The first year they did it with Queen, Judas Priest, and Kiss was good. Last year was crap. The only artist I wanted to see was Ozzy. ZZ Top, Heart, and Genesis, while they may be good bands, are not ones I listen to on any kind of regular basis. They just dont do anything for me.

This year with one artist it makes it less boring. That is, as long as you like the artist they're paying tribute to  :hihi:
Foo Fighters, Incubus, Flaming Lips, Tenacious D, and Pearl Jam played this year. I still gotta watch it though. Maybe I'm wrong but I like this format kinda better than having one or two good artists with a couple others that they happened to be able to throw in.

Yeah in years past they've had bands like The All American Rejects and Nickelback pay tribute.  This years bands were much better and they all did a pretty fantastic job.  Eddie Vedder is a great live performer.
