LMFAO, it all depends on the other Trader if he wants it released.  I have to respect the other Traders wishes.  It's that simple.

I hear there is quite a bit of selling that goes on in the GNR Community, so i don't blame some Filmers/Collectors for not wanting some of their stuff out in the public domain.

the fact of the matter is if someone has an unreleased show it is theirs.  they can do whatever they want with it.   if they just release it on a forum it would be worthless.  put yourself in the shoes of someone who actually has something rare... would you rather just give it away for nothing or trade it for something equally as rare.  i don't have a single thing that is considered rare... but i understand the mkt.  dont rip the guy for just trying to realize the value of something he has.  i just hope that enough trading occurs so eventually the 2001 vegas dvd surfaces.

as for the 2001 Vegas Pro shot, that and a UK Pro shot from 1991 are out there I've seen screen shots.  But i hear both are incomplete as they were recorded on 120M VHS Tapes and started early.  The 1991 being longer and missing more than the 2001.

and no i wasn't able to get them in trade as they were not available for trade at the time.

and no i no longer have the screen shots as my powerbook fried on me 2 years ago and i lost everything on the drive.

see the reason i think it should all be released it does not make it no fun nomore when u try to find shit all u here is this guy hords this this 1 hords that. if all u have is hords tradfing with other hords it never comes out

Well, i've been collecting for a loooong time and it's easier now to collect and trade then it was 10 or 15 years ago.  All you have to do now is hop on some torrent site and hit download.  Thats why most traders don't find the Rare unreleased shit, because you actually have to work for it.  Most don't even know who to ask or where to look.

it's fun and some what of a challenge to find that rare gem.  You lose appreciation for it when all you have to do is click and download.  I bet the Majority of the traders don't even watch half the shows they download.  it's all about quantity not quality.

yeah, it's actually true what you say... I used to trade a lot myself before 'the internet era'. And it WAS a lot of fun! Remember the contacts with bootleg companies & the music fairs... but I also see a difference in the bootleg community of the end '90s and now. Look at all those 2002 tour bootlegs we have and the amount of bootlegs from 2006-2007... People seem to film less I guess..

I dont give a shit whether this show is released or not,

its the way the hoarders parade about having something that no one else can have unless someone has something no one else has
and it gives them some saught of POWER TRIP where it makes them feel like a man in the comfort of their own bedroom , then good luck to them, but

but hey, if people like playing these back and forth games for weeks/months where they hope they will get a show out of it, that what,

and in the times when their is not much happening in the gnr camp to occupy us fans, we could all share the media we have and that would help bring the gnr community together to talk about the band in a positive light, I mean look what happened with the Dec 20th Show that got released cause all of the gnr fans chipped in, in order to get it out their, I dont condone paying bootleggers, but look how much the community got out of it, and how happy everyone was, all because of just 1 show...

I coordinated that and did all the collection and sending to the filmer, so I think I might remember it. Did you contribute at all? Probably not, but I don't remember. If not, then your welcome for a free show, don't worry about it. Your fellow gunners paid for it for you, so enjoy your free 2 hour show.

If someone has an unreleased show they want to trade (Masters_Only) they either took the risk of filming it or someone they know did, risking loosing their equipment and getting tossed from the concert. They weren't kicked out and manged to film a great show. Have you filmed a show? It's their right and they should be able to hold off on trading the shows they film in order to get something they want in return!

If you go and film a show, would you release it for free or would you hold off on it for awhile and see what you can trade it for? Maybe get two or three great "private/rare/unreleased" shows for it?

If you haven't filmed a show, nor released anything into the GNR community that it previously hadn't had, then you're just a collector, downloading torrents (which I have my opinions on for another time...) or trading around via snail mail to get the shows that you want to see. I don't know if you're like some of the collectors out there but if your goal is to get 'ALL DVDS LISTED', then you're no better than someone else on a power trip as you say. Wouldn't you be happy and feel accomplished once you have all the DVDs? It'll never happen since there are numerous shows with various authors, endless amounts.

And as I said in my original post, you're still just jealous you don't have the show.  : ok:

me and paul cromwell recorded the gnr 11,22,02 show  in audio. we release it withing a week or 2

Not quite sure on lineage and shit. Long Beach '87, with Toledo Ohio on the same disc. All I know it's a VHS -> SA DVD transfer, got it in a trade years ago.
