Title: List your favourite guitar solos Post by: GNFNR-UK on July 05, 2008, 08:19:12 PM What are your favourite guitar solos? It doesn't matter if they are technical or not or how long they are. I just want to know the solos that make the hair stand up on the back of your neck! I will list mine below:
In no particular order: 'There Was A Time' - Guns N' Roses (Played by Buckethead) (Honerable mention for Robin's solo too) 'The Garden' - Guns N' Roses (Played by Slash) 'Estranged' - Guns N' Roses (Played by Slash) 'Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses (Played by Slash) 'I Could Have Lied' - Red Hot Chili Peppers (Played by John Frusciante) 'Three Days' - Jane's Addiction (Played by Dave Navarro) 'Ocean Size' - Jane's Addiction (Played by Dave Navarro) 'Listen' - The Panic Channel (Played by Dave Navarro) 'Stripsearch' - Faith No More (Played by Jon Hudson) 'Epic' - Faith No More (Played by Jim Martin) 'Silvergun Superman' - Stone Temple Pilots (Played by Dean Deleo) 'Bi-Polar Bear' - Stone Temple Pilots (Played by Dean Deleo) 'Busy Bee' - Ugly Kid Joe (Played by Dave Fortman) 'Hummer' - Smashing Pumpkins (Played by Billy Corgan) 'Soma' - Smashing Pumpkins (Played by Billy Corgan) 'Stand Inside Your Love' - Smashing Pumpkins (Played by James Iha) 'Them Bones' - Alice In Chains (Played by Jerry Cantrell) 'Man in the Box' - Alice in Chains (Played by Jerry Cantrell) 'Like A Stone' - Audioslave (Played by Tom Morello) 'Alive' - Pearl Jam (Played by Mike McCready) 'Xanex' - Medication (Played by Logan Mader) 'This Love' - Pantera (Played by Dimebag Darrell) 'Floods' - Pantera (Played by Dimebag Darrell) 'No More Tears' - Ozzy (Played by Zakk Wylde) I know that's quite a list but I didn't wanna leave any out! I may have to edit this soon when i'm listening to a song and an amazing solo kicks in! I'm interested to hear what solo's you guys are feeling. *EDIT* I can't believe I left out Maiden, although they have so many great solos I could be here all day listing them! Basically everything off the first album and 'Somewhere in Time' kicks ass. Some of my favourites are: 'Prowler' (Played by Dave Murray) 'Strange World' (Played by Dave Murray) 'Stranger in A Strange Land' (Played by Adrian Smith) Title: Re: List your favourite guitar solos Post by: F*ck Fear on July 06, 2008, 05:59:16 AM There are so many I could list :hihi:

That's Buckethead, if you mean the one that kicks in right at the end when Axl screams "It's such a crime you know it's truuuuuuuue!". I agree, as always, killer solo from Bucket! I loved his Madagascar solo at Rio too. Title: Re: List your favourite guitar solos Post by: journey on July 19, 2008, 06:07:34 PM What are your favourite guitar solos? 'There Was A Time' - Guns N' Roses (Played by Buckethead) (Honerable mention for Robin's solo too) 'Estranged' - Guns N' Roses (Played by Slash) 'Man in the Box' - Alice in Chains (Played by Jerry Cantrell) ^ Love those too. My ultimate favorite guitar solo is 'Till Your Well Runs Dry' by Peter Tosh. It's euphoric. Close your eyes when you listen to it. 'Wet Sand' - Chili Peppers / John Frusciante's solo is another great one. You can feel the emotions pouring out. Rod Stewart's 'I Was Only Joking' has a great guitar solo as well. I'm embarrassed to admit that I have no idea who the guitarist is. Thought it was Jeff Beck. Whoever it is, he's amazing. The version I'm talking about is on their Best Of -collection, there are couple of live version of the song on YouTube too, but they are a bit different; the solo is shorter and as they are audience shot videos, the quality isn't that good :P The studio version is also ok, but the guitar solo is not on the same level.
