Title: Guitar Hero Post by: GNRreunioneventually on June 30, 2008, 10:58:18 PM i've been playing guitar hero since Christmas and thought it was pretty cool how Aerosmith has there own (which was only a rumor before) but i was wondering if KISS and Guns'n'Roses were gonna do it too. Cause i know that they "rumored" to have GH versions of their band too.
:peace: Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: Chief on June 30, 2008, 11:52:51 PM who knows.. i haven't heard those rumors though. but, there is a metallica version coming next year.
Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: GNRreunioneventually on July 01, 2008, 01:03:58 AM now i didn't know that. can't wait. I really hope KISS will do one. I don't think Gene has his the KISS name on that yet besides a song on each one of'em

Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: MadmanDan on July 01, 2008, 07:09:38 AM I don't get this game or the people who buy it...isn't itmore fun to learn how to play a real fucking guitar????
Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: Verse Chorus Verse on July 01, 2008, 02:59:43 PM I don't get this game or the people who buy it...isn't itmore fun to learn how to play a real fucking guitar???? Instead of spending a week or two learning a pattern to get a high score you can learn some chord progressions and songs.Yet I bought GH2 anyway. :-\ Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: Voodoochild on July 01, 2008, 03:33:17 PM Ive been playing Guitar Hero Aerosmith all week. I work in a game magazine, you know... :)
I'm not that good, but I love to play Dream On and Mamma Said. I suck big time playing Pink, tho. Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: GNRreunioneventually on July 01, 2008, 04:03:58 PM i left real guitar to the real rock gods ;).....besides i'm not that talented.
voodoo: i what you mean i sucked hard too when i first started playing GH but now 6 months after i got it i can get 3 stars on any song on expert (except Raining blood(that song is imposible)) :peace: Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: SLCPUNK on July 01, 2008, 05:35:05 PM I love this game.
I don't get this game or the people who buy it...isn't itmore fun to learn how to play a real fucking guitar???? To me, it's more like typing than playing guitar. Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: Gunner80 on July 01, 2008, 05:46:45 PM I don't get this game or the people who buy it...isn't itmore fun to learn how to play a real fucking guitar???? Another pointless argument. It's a game and it's fun!Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: pilferk on July 01, 2008, 09:27:34 PM I don't get this game or the people who buy it...isn't itmore fun to learn how to play a real fucking guitar???? You can pick up GH or Rock band and be passively good at easy in an hour or two......and be pretty good in a week. Within 2 to 3, you're jammng on medium. Within 6 you're playing hard. And that's playing casually, an hour or two every other day or so. Playing "real" guitar it took me a good 6 months before I could comfortably work my way through even the simplest of decent rock songs (something other than the obligitory Stairway and Rock and Roll All Night). Playing GH is like playing a 5 fret, one string guitar. In other words...it's not really like playing guitar at all. But it's fun.......and you can get a bunch of non-musical folks together and have a BLAST as a party game (especially with rock band). Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: w.axl.rose on July 01, 2008, 10:49:42 PM I'm beginning to wonder if you are somehow, someway related to horsey. he is. didnt u know ? Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: Bodhi on July 02, 2008, 12:23:43 AM I don't get this game or the people who buy it...isn't itmore fun to learn how to play a real fucking guitar???? I used to say the exact same thing until i tried it about a year ago...now I own all of the games and will be buying the Aerosmith one tomorrow....its alot of fun....it really has nothing to do with playing the guitar...it took me a long time to learn how to play a few decent songs on guitar but guitar hero I learned in about an hour....the only thing it helps with as far as playing real guitar is probably timing.....its not supposed to be a replacement for the guitar just like Madden is not supposed to be a replacement for going out and playing football with your friends...its just a fun game Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: SLCPUNK on July 02, 2008, 01:39:57 AM I don't get this game or the people who buy it...isn't itmore fun to learn how to play a real fucking guitar???? Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: Albert S Miller on July 02, 2008, 03:39:05 AM My kids got it for xmas in 06 so of course I had to try it. I am not really coordinated soooo I sucked at it, I still played everyday until I got the hang of it, and it is fun, and Im a little more coordinated. :)
Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: CheapJon on July 02, 2008, 03:15:10 PM I don't get this game or the people who buy it...isn't itmore fun to learn how to play a real fucking guitar???? I say the same thing to people who buy GTA IV, wouldn't it be funnier IRL? :P who knows.. i haven't heard those rumors though. but, there is a metallica version coming next year. wasn't that for rock band? Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: Voodoochild on July 02, 2008, 06:17:02 PM I've been playing guitar for 13 years. It's not the same thing at all, but it's fun enough. I think non-musicians would be more than happy with it.
One bad thing I found out was that my wrist got fucked up after a few matches. Even if it's a simple chord progression, it needs some fucked up typing. i what you mean i sucked hard too when i first started playing GH but now 6 months after i got it i can get 3 stars on any song on expert (except Raining blood(that song is imposible)) I won't have time to play for 6 months because the game has to return to the company. And I don't have one at home. Hell, I don't even have a PS2. :(Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: Layne Staley's Sunglasses on July 03, 2008, 12:39:39 AM wasn't that for rock band? No, it's for Guitar Hero. Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: The Dog on July 03, 2008, 12:46:03 AM We got rockband in my office - totally amazing game. I totally rock out on Enter Sandman and Iron Lung. I do a pretty good Ozzy as well.
good times :peace: Title: Re: Guitar Hero Post by: pilferk on July 03, 2008, 08:21:34 AM wasn't that for rock band? No, it's for Guitar Hero. The STRONG rumor (nothing officially announced...but pretty much everyone involved has acknowledged it EXCEPT the developer/publisher..and even they mention it in an SEC filing) is that there will be a Metallica version of Guitar Hero. There was, at one time, an announcement that Rock Band would get an entire Metallica album download. I'm not sure if that's still coming or not. They released a song pack almost immediately after Rock Band was released...and I think that might have been it. Similar to what Motley did with their new song? It's only a matter of time before artists start making a lot of their songs available on GH or RB, the demand is just to high. I kinda like that they are strict with their catalog. VH and GNR rock band would be SOOOOO amazing. Imagine all of Appetite available on RB. Rocket Queen would be legendary. Welcome to the Jungle was one of the FIRST tracks shown to the press when Rock Band was in development. But, ultimately, it was scrapped over an inability to strike a licensing deal (and, I suspect, Slash's prominent placement in GH III didn't help). Over on the Rock Band forums, it's been debated to death over whether or not we'll EVER see GnR material on Rock Band. Most think it's unlikely.....
